  • Kathryn (Casey) Bouskill asks, “Is a faster world better? Safer?” An anthropologist who studies technology and health, Kathryn acknowledges that the faster life seems to get, the less our brains- and society- are able to keep up. She shares that culture and rituals can help us cope and set the right pace for our health and wellbeing. Anthropologist This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

This woman is so beautiful!!!! In so many ways!!!! Her astonishing physical appearance, her deeply delving mind, her desire to share some of that mind with us, the way she decides to spend her time is also something that makes her amazingly beautiful!!!!! I would trade a huge amount of my own time just to wake up and have her smile be the first thing I see everyday!!!! Alas, she is correct about us needing connection and also correct about how quickly it’s disappearing from us all!!!! We’ve never had more ways to connect with each other and yet we have never been further apart!!! It is a very sad moment in the story of what is the human species. Yes, this has been clearly and cleverly designed and orchestrated purposefully by some folks who, for some reason, want to see it all burn and fall apart. 😢

I make time at least 6 times a year to sit down, be calm and listen, really listen to the 9th symphony. It was written 200 YEARS AGO!!!! Yet it is still a perfect way to spend an hour of our valuable time!!!!
What is something you try to make time for as often as you can???
Tell me why you feel it is important to do so….. I would love to spend some of my time getting to know a few things about anyone willing to tell me….

I believe the faster you move the slower time effects the reality you experience... placeing you in a paradox state of infinit dimensions and reality interesting 🤔 it is...

Deep thoughts to ponder now, as I try to figure out what I am doing with all of that "saved time" that I don't really have. It's just time to do something else. I just walked while watching a tv show (minus the commercials as I zipped through them with my remote control), accomplishing to tasks, enjoying a show while getting a bit of exercise (since it is raining outside). Did I save thirty or forty minutes, or no?

Not a fan of this talk. It's really well delivered in terms of the presentation, but the whole message can be summed up with two words: "slow down". No need to say and listen to it for 12 minutes.
