As someone who hated Putin for no other reason than due to the propaganda that was fed to me as an American, this documentary was illuminating. I still disagree with Putin on many things like his anti-gay social conservative views and his dismissal of communism and his love for capitalism but he is a rational actor who wants the best for his people. I trust him much more than I do the criminals of the CIA or NATO, who want everlasting war. I believe Putin actually wants peace. I respect the man for this reason.
+Reylo
lol you're so funny.
As a westerner view, being bombarded by anti-Putin propaganda?
He is the one person that managed to keep a country afloat when it was going to shit, of course he is going to do things that people don't approve of. That is what you have to do as a leader. You can't keep every single person happy. But he is still much more of a leader than I have ever seen in my country.
And I feel I have to add this. People might hate me for it. There are hundreds of great leaders modern civilization doesn't agree with. For example a lot of Roman dictators, but they did improve situations for their inhabitants.
Now I'm going into a risky area. But Hitler? He introduced an affordable car for the masses, he introduced child welfare and he introduced women's rights.
Putin isn't Hitler. Putin isn't in the same category as him. But you do know he is willing to do whatever it takes for his people to prosper.
all i can say is. the west needs to GTFO and let russia do it's own thing . who gives a flying fuck on WTF happens in russia. let putin do his thing . though america always wants to meddle with russia. lets not forget . we meddled in russias elections . you didn't see putin talking america america america . 24/7 . though when it comes to russia with no evidence in meddling our elections. russia russia russia . and lets not forgot whose on whose border. last time i checked we got u.s military on the border of russia. I don't see any russian military on the u.s border.
This....
It always annoyed me that US keeps calling Russia the agressors, while they are the oens to first put weapons on another country's borders.
They say, well it is for our safety.
But turn the tables, for the people in Russia it is agression...
the same with invading the middle east, for those people you are terrorists....
The United States can only look at things from their perspective.
What anti-gay social conservative policy? can you specify? Are you living in Russia and know how that policy work? There is no anti-gay law, period, its a pure liberal propaganda, the law doesn't even punish any movie with gay on it it doesn't ban any media which feature gay, Beauty and the Beast got a homosexual character in it and the movie was shown in theater, there are gay celebrities in Russian show-business, they are doing perfectly well. The law was anti pedophile propaganda, and anti-gay propaganda, which mean no gay sex in media, no pedophile sex in media. That is what the law is about. You should visit Russia and see for yourself how many gays on Moscow street.
Now this is an interview!
He's so smooth, you can't be sure you're not being conned
Eerily prophetic seeing what's going on now
This was a great interview series.
Oliver Stone has got an amazing ability to think.
Great guy
Stone got balls of steel :)
"do you think that our goal is to prove anything to anyone??" Wow...
US Nato should give up cold War era mind set
Putin is driving?
my friend whose from poland says. Putin only has 1 guard and president of the U.S has a shit load of secret service . it just shows how much 1 country really loves their leader. also doesn't have to fear about being assassinated..
Yeah that surprised me too
@@TheBlazersfan22 Do you really naively believe that Putin only has one bodyguard?
@@TheBlazersfan22 They just let us all see only one of his bodyguards

He speaks english fluently
Shows the state of journalism today that it’s left to Stone to ask the probing questions
I saw a part of that documentary it was really nice honnest and objective ! 🙏
Watched the full interview of him and on TV and since then my respect goes to Putin. He’s brilliant and never loses his temper with journalists who sometimes ask stupid questions especially American journalists😅
you know this guy is oliver stone right? a successful american film director and vietnam veteran, I thought his questions were bold, but not stupid, made for a really interesting interview
@@knurdyob yes, I know him. He is not a journalist but a director who asked better questions and with respect than most journalists who feed us stupid questions.
Well done, Oliver Stone.
People need to hear all sides.
Russia is voiceless in the current media.
you mean stupid western mainstream media
This didn't age well.
I ordered this whole interview which released in a book.can't wait to get delivered
Is the full documentary available somewhere?
I love this documentary! But I need to ask: Besides developing a profound respect and admiration for Putin, did anyone else develop strong affection for the young translator? LOL! He's great at his job.
I did!

Mr. Stone, many, many regards to you!

Oliver Stone is a genius filmmaker. ✌
I like the way Putin speaks
Quite eye opening seeing this now
Damn i like Putin. Totally a fan. Threat of war is just a way for our government to justify it's extensive military spending as well as justification for the illegal actions taken and/or committed on other countries.
I love USA, totally a patriot but i just wish with all of my heart we could all be told the truth so we can all just get along
Life is so very short
Still a fan?
And we get stuck with brainless dementia biden
DAMN ASS CONSERVATIVE!
I dont think he needs translators at all for english, he just uses them so he has more time to think of his answer and be more careful with words
Surely him answering in English himself would be a show of intelligence?
Maybe he is just proud to speak in his language :)
@@Fireglo Great Post
@Fireglo you are great
Wow, Mr. Stone speaks to the interpreter a lot, not to Putin himself. Especially, during the sitdown portions of the interview. Not what I would expect.
Putin is driving his own auto with just a single dude (the interpreter) in the back. No motorcade??
You know how huge his combound is, that megalomaniac has huge acres partly build with money stolen from many others by blackmail
How many people are seeing these for the first or second time, since the Ukraine invasion? Raise your hand... 🖐
Where is the full interview?
That moment when Putin makes the government resign
I like the interpreter. Very professional and handsome =))
If you want to watch the full interview : vimeo.com/241354014 - Russia (VV Putin) ASKED USA to be part of NATO, that is, to be one with Europe and USA all the way, to stop this division of NATO and non NATO, and the need of these states of threat and enmity between members and non members ! (in the video, after 40').
Understand what this means! A DREAM OF PEACE could have been reached! Understand what we could have reached, and why we didn't, and how we came to the present state of affairs.
Anyone have the full version? I can't seem to find it on youtube
Oh, man, how wrong Oliver Stone was if he thought he could surprise Putin. He definitely has huge balls, but he should have prepared some irrefutable evidence and solid comebacks if he was expecting to make Putin even mildly uncomfortable on a subject.
Do you still stand behind your comment, as of today.
@@jojojojo4332 Maybe you misunderstood. Putin is a POS, but he's very intelligent when it comes to lying, manipulating people, disguising the truth. That is still the case. One thing I didn't know and that might explain a lot is that Mr. Stone seems to be pro-Putin. One thing is certain to me today, Putin f-ed up really bad this time and this is the beginning of his end. Praising someone's intelligence doesn't mean being on his side. He's a terrible psychopath and genocidal maniac.
@@maxczapski2239 Actually no. Ukraine has a lot of backstory, for which, NATO and the USA is to blame. Biden and his son's corrupt dealings in Ukrainan gas is no coincidence. The fact that Putin said that last part is why he will use nukes only in last possible scenario.
I very much appreciate what Stone is doing, and I further understand he needs to look tough on Putin to have credibility,, but asking Putin ' Did you make a mistake in annexing Crimea? Annexed? Really?
I'm late to this, but I think it was good for an interviewer to tell Putin word for word the outrageous things people say in the West. Putin can handle it because he knows how impolite the Western media is and so in turn the Western public is 💁🇺🇲🛠️🇷🇺

@Scott Spencer It still does not work. Western corporate mainstream media and RUclips are blocking it. The only thing that comes up are 2 or 3 minute Teasers or Trailers on the documentary but not the full documentary.
