Listen to the way Putin speaks - he RARELY raises his voice or loses his temper. Instead, he makes very calm, rational, logical arguments. He is an incredibly intelligent man with no time for dramatics (something too many politicians thrive on). He is very eloquent and takes his time to answer questions because he actually has a well thought out response. But I guess many people in the Western hemisphere struggle with respecting someone who demonstrates the unique ability to think beyond what the media tells them to think.

He said expressly that he does not consider ukrainians as a separate nation and Ukraine as a country. So the full-scale war was a matter of time (the hybrid war has started since 2014) and for us (Ukraine) Nato was a way to defend our country from Russia (at least make it so that Russia has no desire to attack us).

Ukraine was neutral in 2014 and what happened? Annexed Crimea and occupied Donbass. How can you believe to someone like putin?
If today Ukraine demilitarises and surrenders all weapons to secure its neutral status, tomorrow Russia will occupy the entire territory without resistance. That's what being "neutral" means for us, ukrainians, - we will not be able to fight Russia back and no one will help us.

He is the one person that managed to keep a country afloat when it was going to shit, of course he is going to do things that people don't approve of. That is what you have to do as a leader. You can't keep every single person happy. But he is still much more of a leader than I have ever seen in my country.
And I feel I have to add this. People might hate me for it. There are hundreds of great leaders modern civilization doesn't agree with. For example a lot of Roman dictators, but they did improve situations for their inhabitants.
Now I'm going into a risky area. But Hitler? He introduced an affordable car for the masses, he introduced child welfare and he introduced women's rights.
Putin isn't Hitler. Putin isn't in the same category as him. But you do know he is willing to do whatever it takes for his people to prosper.

It always annoyed me that US keeps calling Russia the agressors, while they are the oens to first put weapons on another country's borders.
They say, well it is for our safety.
But turn the tables, for the people in Russia it is agression...
the same with invading the middle east, for those people you are terrorists....

What anti-gay social conservative policy? can you specify? Are you living in Russia and know how that policy work? There is no anti-gay law, period, its a pure liberal propaganda, the law doesn't even punish any movie with gay on it it doesn't ban any media which feature gay, Beauty and the Beast got a homosexual character in it and the movie was shown in theater, there are gay celebrities in Russian show-business, they are doing perfectly well. The law was anti pedophile propaganda, and anti-gay propaganda, which mean no gay sex in media, no pedophile sex in media. That is what the law is about. You should visit Russia and see for yourself how many gays on Moscow street.
