Bathurst in the 80s was totally amazing. All sorts of cars - different sounds and slightly different speeds but the same commitment shown. It was such a privilege to be there to see it
Great memories of a fantastic category. I pit crewed for Edward for many years and this was prior to Elvis having a couple more big hits. Thanks for posting.
That Volvo has been drastically lightened! The towbar & roof racks have been removed & the Labradors are missing from the back seat. They didn't go overboard though, it seems to still be carrying it's 2000RPM Tacho, 80KPH Speedo and the 40HP Truck Engine appears to be in place.
@@marcelschneller1152 Holy Crap! I've upset the Volvo lovers! Threy're attacking me in VolvoSpeak! Luckily I can easily escape... My 1950s Australian made pedal car escape vehicle will save me... It's a shitload faster than David Mackay's... erm... Volvo Pursuit vehicle!
@@marcelschneller1152 Got my escape route set out. It's up hill. Having seen a Volvo trying to haul it's own weight from the cutting up to Reid Park, I know they'll never catch me... Watch me wave bye bye to Robbie Francevic.
@@bigkeg9173 yep the good ole days. Loved watching the m3's give it to them on the twisty tracks. Loved going to Oran Park and sitting on the grass hill
Perfect. But beware, some stuck up muppets pronounce it "AITCH" RT. Some folks had a dismal upbringing & their education was sad. It's OK to feel sorry for these poor deprived people.
No cosworths ffs .... now wonder seen the prices or value they have most owners would shit a brick if they crashed or bumped them .... shame tho part of grp a history

Can't say I enjoy watching the V8s any more.

Don't forget the box of tissues on the rear parcel shelf alongside the bowls club hat!
The JPS BMW,s were like little rocket ships back in the day!
What a sight to behold. Truly breathtaking. Legendary field.
such a pleasure to see these cars racing ,cheers and thanks to the drivers and teams
Love it. I find historic racing is just brilliant 👍
Same

There's something special about real cars. Watching plastic cars go round & round aint quite the same.
Yep it shits all over the v8 supercar stuff
@@michaelhart5886 it's the totally different cars, 4,6 and 8 cylinders all racing hard together that makes it such good racing 👍

Better then the modern stuff.
Foxbody Mustang, mk2 escort, rx7, ae86. Doesnt get much better than that.
That JPS BMW is probably the best looking touring car ever
I prefer the JPS 635 Coupe Jim Richards
This is top notch!!!!

Vehicles from the days of big race entries.
awesome cars !!
when was this race?
Sydney Motorsport Park or in the old days it was called Eastern Creek
I think this was on the 11th of last month
Wow, wow that was 'absolutely wild'. (You gotta get out more son).
Anyone else see the headlight go out on the beemer when he was passing the 21😏
Well, the commentators did...
It ain't a 'Historic Car Race of Legends' when there's not a single r32 GTR in sight, or the Shell Ultra-Hi EB Falcon. If memory serves correct.
A Shell EB Falcon never raced in Group A. It would be good to see a GTR though.
too valuable, nobody would want to risk it
In reference to the Volvo, it did rain during the '79 Hardie Ferodo. Not sure it helped much!
Ol Frankie binding...good bloke
Man that's cool
We need a New update from your civic! Sorry for my Bad english greets from germany
R32 GTR still banned ?
shame there is no LC/LJ toranas.
didnt see any rt chargers either? . is this race governed by year date ?
Yes, this race was for Group A and Group C cars.
RT Chargers / LC & LJ Toranas are all part of Group N era.
@@BlendLineTV cool didn't know that. So what is the phase4 ho classed as. Thanks
I love to see these cars on the tracks but my asshole bites my lounge cushion each and every lap 🫣🇦🇺

"Absolutely Wild"? In what way?
Because it rained and they are on slicks. You are not a motor racing fan are you?
