- Check out this race from Sydney as a combined grid of legendary Australian Touring Cars from Group A and Group C is smashed by rain in the closing stages of the race. It allows the Group C Army Reserve Falcon to chase down the VL Walkinshaw HRT Commodore in the closing stages.
While other legendary cars including STP Roadways Group C Commodore, JPS BMW M3, Toyota Sprinters and others all battle throughout the field.

Bathurst in the 80s was totally amazing. All sorts of cars - different sounds and slightly different speeds but the same commitment shown. It was such a privilege to be there to see it

That Volvo has been drastically lightened!
The towbar & roof racks have been removed & the Labradors are missing from the back seat. They didn't go overboard though, it seems to still be carrying it's 2000RPM Tacho, 80KPH Speedo and the 40HP Truck Engine appears to be in place.

I've upset the Volvo lovers! Threy're attacking me in VolvoSpeak! Luckily I can easily escape... My 1950s Australian made pedal car escape vehicle will save me... It's a shitload faster than David Mackay's... erm... Volvo Pursuit vehicle!

Got my escape route set out. It's up hill. Having seen a Volvo trying to haul it's own weight from the cutting up to Reid Park, I know they'll never catch me... Watch me wave bye bye to Robbie Francevic.

It ain't a 'Historic Car Race of Legends' when there's not a single r32 GTR in sight, or the Shell Ultra-Hi EB Falcon. If memory serves correct.
A Shell EB Falcon never raced in Group A. It would be good to see a GTR though.

In reference to the Volvo, it did rain during the '79 Hardie Ferodo. Not sure it helped much!

Yes, this race was for Group A and Group C cars.
RT Chargers / LC & LJ Toranas are all part of Group N era.
