  • I finally get to show off the 8910 Toporama layout and some train operation. I demonstrate how the Berrett Hill Touch toggles work in operation. The really nice thing is I don't need to touch the layout to operate, moving switches and activating sidings, which really slows down operation. You get a chance to see the flow of the layout running multiple trains. The layout still needs to be placed in a frame I am still working on and will need to be detailed. All will be featured in future videos so I am not done yet! Barry
Barry

Thank you Eric - I'm currently working on the coffee table it's going to fit into and it's taking me longer to finish than anticipated.

Very nice. funny thing i would have 2 trains running same time even with everything labeled id get confused and possibly have a derailment and collision 😂

Barry, 1st, thank you for putting up this video, I’ve truly enjoyed it !!! I truly enjoyed watching it and watching you run it I didn’t think at first that you could have two trains running in opposite directions but apparently you figured out a way to do it !!! Can’t wait to see it inside that piece of furniture !!! But, unfortunately due to health reasons, I’ve had to slow down on building on my Layout and like I was telling you earlier I’m thinking about trading in the Märklín track for MTL track which has the built-in road bed !!! I’m just having too much trouble trying to find a regular thin cork roadbed that will work with this small width in the track !!!! 🌊🐺

Wonderful, I have made a similar layout also using Marklin's track plans. I do find that these old 3 pole locos are more controllable with the older transformers (the blue and red/ yellow and brown ones)

I created it and I am having it custom made. Unfortunately, I am not offering them for sale as I am having a hard time just making one!

Terrific OG layout! Any update on it's journey to becoming a coffee table of some sort?

The coffee table has been way more challenging than the layout itself. I have just finished the design and I am hiring a company to construct if for me. Stay tuned for an update!

Barry, great to watch you run your trains on the Toporama. I don't recall, did you use 1/2-inch or 3/4-inch MDF for your base? Still waiting for our Lowes or Home Depot to get in some MDF. Thanks. (Eric aka DadCooks)

Thanks - It's half-inch. I couldn't get it at either of those two stores, you may want to find a specialty lumber store in your area. If we lived closer I would give you some - I have extra!
