- Australia’s Laurence O’Toole made it two out of two for his nation on Saturday (October 20) at the Timbersports World Championships by winning the individual title 24 hours after his country won the team title.

Cool example of what actually strong people look like compared to bodybuilders. Obviously these guys have a ton of full body strength, but yeah they aint got lean bulging defined muscles. They look almost portly in a way, im sure some would even say they got "dad bods", and you can see their arms are muscular and strong but have a decent bit of fattiness too. I always found bodybuilders such a weird idea. Not only do you look frankly silly, youre not particularly strong and your flexibility is non-existent....
Just imagine the stability and balance you need to swing an axe that quickly and that hard, while standing on a wonky narrow board in mid air.
You're right but body building isn't about strength its just how the muscle looks.

I was mainly commenting cause its a weird social perception we have. You need a movie character who you wanna portray as just mega strong, so you get a guy with bulging foot ball muscles. If you get a guy like on of these in the audience will think it weird that this super strong character looks what they would say is kinda just fat. Thats because most people dont really actually know what really incredibly strong people look like.
Again thats rooted in early cartoons and stuff.

@@an2thea514 thats enough to kill a person if it falls on their head. not to mention theyre carrying an axe that could make a mess if it falls just wrong enough, or if the plank they use dislodge in a way they fall on its blade or actually, doesnt even have to be on the blade, if its the edges of the pank itself it can cause serious bone injure.

They only show two disciplines in this clip, but this is actually pretty regularly on Australian tv during the weekend during the daytime. But the standing block and the one when they stand on a block and swing at it literally chopping the wood between their feet their standing on, and you should see the both swing speed and sheer accuracy of some of the Aussies at it

Trees grow very quickly. People just dont understand logging. Forest eco systems are hard to replace, yes, trees, no. Most logging companies have rotational, human planted plots of trees.
1. Yes trees get thicker and fuller as they age but it does not take decades for a tree to take full log thickness
2. Logging companies do not cut down entire forests in Canada or America, I don't know about South America
3. As logging companies expand out they replant and reuse plots
