I agree with everyone saying that this shouldn’t have happened, but my first thought was “yeah, the size of the tree in the thumbnail was way bigger than the actual tree in the video.” I really hate when people use fake thumbnails just to attract more views.

@My Dixie Wrecked ash bats are rare today - because of the ash borer. Maple has dominated the scene for the last 20 years. But more players are now switching to birch. They say it seems to have the durability and flexibility of ash, but the hardness and solidity of maple. I haven't had a chance to personally hit with birch, but would be eager to if I am able to purchase a birch bat at some point. Would also like to try hickory that's been kiln dried with modern kilning processes (but that will never happen, so... I'll keep dreaming).
@My Dixie Wrecked they did. My set of clubs are old persimmon woods 😎. I love them. I'm guessing persimmon is most likely too heavy to used for a bat, but I can't say for sure. I did some research about 15yrs ago on different woods, looking for an alternative to maple that would be more similar to ash. Birch seemed like a good alternative, but there was something that was missing. I was also looking at some exotic woods, but I don't recall them either at the moment. Persimmon is not one I recall coming across, but it is definitely worth a thought.

Did you see the bark falling off the tree the first tree, this doesn't happen on a healthy tree, it is either dying or dead. I work for a local council in the UK, we fell dead and dangerous trees but we plant far more than we fell. People who do not understand still moan at us when we are felling. The vast majority of those who moan don't go out planting new trees themselves.
I assure you, they don't have or need luck. It's skill. Skill shows in your work, day after day. You have nothing to do with injury or fatalities they suffer, bad juju eye or not. The work is just that dangerous, ipso facto..
