I'm 23 years old and have Hydrocephalus. Since the age of 2 I've had nearly 100 brain surgeries. Life hasn't always been easy, but by trusting in Jesus Christ with my life, it's been worth it. I don't fear death, because I know that GOD holds my future.
I remember the horrendous, drawn-out incarceration of that brave couple and the tragic end of the husband, just as they were about to be rescued! To this day I wonder why it took so long for the authorities to act. A year! Sometimes I would get impatient during my prayers, imagining the terror they were going thru.
1 Corinthians 11:5 But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head-it is the same as having her head shaved. Barnes' notes on the Bible: With her head uncovered - That is, with the veil removed which she usually wore. It would seem from this that the women removed their veils, and wore their hair disheveled, when they pretended to be under the influence of divine inspiration. This was the case with the pagan priestesses; and in so doing, the christian women imitated them.... It was, besides, a custom among ancient females, and one that was strictly enjoined by the traditional laws of the jews, that a woman should not appear in public unless she were veiled. James 1:22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. They became like the pagan priestesses. You are in need of guidance yourselves. They put a Hijab on her. You were the one in need of guidance. Allah سبحانه وتعالى said, كُنتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ ۗ وَلَوْ آمَنَ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُم ۚ مِّنْهُمُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ You [true believers in Islamic Monotheism] are the best of peoples ever raised up for mankind; you enjoin Al-Ma'ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam has ordained) and forbid Al-Munkar (polytheism, disbelief and all that Islam has forbidden), and you believe in Allah. And had the people of the Scripture (jews and christians) believed, it would have been better for them; among them are some who believe, but most of them are Al-Fasiqun (disobedient and rebellious sinners). Look how she admits, that when harmed touched her, she invoked her Creator Alone. No Jesus عليه السلام there. But when she was brought safe to the land, she associates partners with her Lord.
I remember this happening while I was still working at CNN. Years later, I read Gracia’s book. And I am so happy to see that this dear lady is still sharing her experience, her faith, and most importantly, God’s ever-present love and power.

It is so tragic for these missionary families losing loved ones. Sometimes it's the father...sometimes, it's the wife and children. Of course, anyone in Christ, will have to go on. Perhaps, these consequences are due to error of judgment, rather than God's perfect will. I can't say. God bless and keep you.
