Tough call, but I think the music in this video helps Becoming, Part 2 even more gut-wrenching. I always thought of it as the "Angel and Buffy Love Theme." It's nice to know the real title. If you listen during season 3, you'll hear snatches of it or places where it is played very slowly and hesitantly. This is the perfect accompaniment to the agony Buffy and Angel face every day. They can never be together. I have to admit "I Will Remember You" poured salt into the wound. It was an exemplary and heartbreaking episode in its own right.

Any time the two of them had a sad, painful scene, (which was almost always,) this music really pulled it all together. It's beautiful. Tragically, hauntingly, sorrowful, but beautiful. Much like their story.
+Jennifer Kieljan Well, I liked the melancholic vibe to the song, relationships aren't all rainbows and unicorns, not even the ones that lead to marriage ;- ) Also, Buffy & Angel were 2 shows that we actually both equally enjoyed. For the older attendees it seemed like a classical song, so it was a bit of an inside joke thing to us.

When Buffy was on the air I was like 13-14. Saw the show here and there. I got netflix and started to watch it. Im in love with Angel, even Angelus. This song is beautiful. You can hear the innocence of first love, the intense passion and longing. Truly, from what my friends tell me about the show (i became obsessed) Angel does a lot of apperances in Buffy which proves TO ME, that they will always love each other till the end. Stupid Curse!!!!
It is so sad that Buffy didn't get to spend the rest of her life with Angel because their love was eternal. But on the other hand the reason why they were torn apart goes down to the fact that they were so similar. Buffy saved the world from evil taking over and so did Angel due to the fact he wanted to repent from his crimes in his Angelus era. Angel had the chance to become human and be the ideal man she wanted, "someone who can take you out into the sun", but he couldn't be that man and save the world. Both of them were heroes and chose the innocents instead because at the end of the day thats what it came down to.
What was sad is that even with the fact that she wanted a man who could taker her out in the sun, she loved him enough that she was willing to give up that dream for him.
I guess.... That is based solely on the cross over episode where she came to LA and they got to "be together" and he got to be human again.. What I don't get is why he couldn't do what spike did and choose to undergo the trials to earn his soul back on purpose. As much as I loved Angel and Buffy, I felt Spike loved her more to do what he did from not having a soul at all, to actively seeking one. And he got to remain powerful vamp.
Love this song so much absolutely the best season on the Buffy. Season 2 will definitely love on forever. No show can create a love as powerful this was one #bangelforever

My ending to Buffy should have had this song playing and fast forward to Buffy's grave and she died an old lady and standing above her grave looking at the tombstone should have been Angel and then he walks away. Or they could have just fast forward to an old Buffy rocking in a chair by the fire and someone comes in to the house and it's Angel and he says hi honey and they've been married all these years and he doesn't care that she's old

The whole series is symbolising a teenager going into adulthood and by doing what you have suggested above would've ruined the purpose. Plus, they have both moved on! Cordelia was one of his best friends and that's what Angel sees her as. Another one of his loved ones that died, like Fred. Angel knew Cordelia was never the love of his life or his girlfriend. This song brings up so many thoughts, feelings, and memories. It makes me sad, but then I remember that B/A are one-of-a-kind. That makes me happy. Though B/A don't exist in real life, they will always exist in my heart & mind. B/A will ALWAYS mean so much to me. The messages and meanings in nearly every episode say a lot. Though I get teary thinking about some of their moments, especially those when this song was played...epic stories such as this are mean to be celebrated. GO BUFFY AND ANGEL!
It's been a while since I last watched Buffy and I remember liking this theme, it was very sweet and sad and I wanted to hear it again, and, as I said it's been a while, and I didn't remembered quite well what happened and the reasons why Buffy and Angel couldn't be together and when 2:07 hit.... I suddenly remembered why, and I cried like a baby...
For me the greatest charm of the show was Angel and Buffy's relationship. It was SUCH a powerful romance that you fell in love with them as they fell for each other and you felt torn up inside when they went through all their trials. But you know what I realized? Even though part of the reason Buffy wasn't as good in the later seasons was because Angel was gone, it would have started getting bad anyway, and it's possible that the fire that was Buffy/Angel would have been lost.
Just finished watching Frozen, had to see what all the hype was about, and freaked out right at the end when I saw that the music was composed by Christopher Beck. Well, I had no choice then but to search for this bit of music :o)
I'm nowhere near the target demographic for Frozen, so I was shocked when one day I saw Christophe's credit for him, having had his music as part of growing up with Buffy! Similar moment when I realised that Alan Menken who wrote Little Shop of Horrors (a childhood favourite) was the guy who did a ton of memorable Disney scores later, too (and of course, the *amazing* Galavant).
The Twilight romance is basically a poor rip off of Buffy and Angel's romance, except there's no reason for Bella and Edward to be drawn together. For Buffy and Angel, Buffy is the slayer. Angel is a vampire with a soul. It's these burdens they carry that brought them together, that bound them together and in some ways, that keep them apart. Edward is drawn to Bella because...she smells good? Bella is drawn to Edward because he stalks her and stares at her awkwardly? Rant over.
I wish i could share your post ***** because you are so right! Buffy and angel made it real because their love was forbidden. Bella and Edward's romance was a typical love triangle there wasnt a triangle between buffy angel and spike because buffy never truly fell in love again her love was angel and will always be angel no matter the circumstances.
Buffy and Angel aren't why Twilight is awful; Twilight does that all by itself. They do, however, showcase just how bad it is by being a shining example of the correct way to depict this romance.
Then you have the cruel Irony of Angel calling himself Twilight in complete disguise and the darkest moments to come from it: 206 dead Scythe activated Slayers (whether those we met on screen/on panel or not) and a dead ex-Watcher (though got better but de-aged for a time before restored to his proper age)

I just watched Angel season 1 episode 8: I will remember you. Damn they are the best pairing in the history of TV series. Just like Romeo & Juliet. I cried watching the ending of that episode...again.
This is such a great theme, I really wish they ended up together, shame it ended to tragically, but I guess that's what makes the relationship more memorable, more precious. I even still think Xander and Willow should have ended up together, too. back in the early episodes they blended so well, and they were so close that one night until that vampire had to ruin their kiss. But Angel and Buffy = Epic win.
Buffy and Angel is probably better but spike as a whole is a better character then Angel and is probably the most well written character in the entire show. His arc and his redemption story through the last 4 seasons is one of the best I’ve seen. And his monologue at the end of season 7 episode 2 is one of the best monologues I’ve ever seen Angel doesn’t compare

The song your talking about is actually "one last moment" which still has a similar feel to it. This one is from the scene at he end of Season 2 and this theme continues throughout season 3 as Buffy and Angel's "song." It's so beautiful. 2:11 was designed for a specific purpose… but for the big dramatic part of that scene.. not the one in becoming part 2. still absolutely heartbreaking

The entire premise was not just "high school as hell". The entire show was a metaphor for growing up, leaving behind childhood and embracing adulthood, or growing into yourself. With this comes new challenges, new anxieties. Life doesn't stop at/after high school and neither did the show.

I just watched this episode for the first time in like 8 years! Wow. Forgot how powerful it was and how powerful their theme was. Beautiful.
My ending to Buffy should have had this song playing and fast forward to Buffy's grave and she died an old lady and standing above her grave looking at the tombstone should have been Angel and then he walks away. Shows that their love is eternal..... Or they could have just fast forward to an old Buffy rocking in a chair by the fire and someone comes in to the house and it's Angel and he says hi honey and they've been married all these years and he doesn't care that she's old
Stephen Martell No... I get that you're a bangel shipper and all, but the Buffy ending was symbolising Buffy becoming an adult. The whole series is symbolising a teenager going into adulthood and by doing what you have suggested above would've ruined the purpose.
Plus, they have both moved on! (Aaaand Angel is best with Cordelia along with Buffy and Spike.)
+NarutoFirestarLoLz that's bullshit, Cordelia was just a good friend. The only reason they put Angel with Cordelia is because they needed Angel to have a love interest for ratings. Why do you think they totally killed Cordelia's character right at the moment she realized she loved Angel? Because they realized they made a huge mistake LOL. Plus Cordelia is DEAD and is never coming back. They never had a romantic relationship and never will because she's dead as hell, like really dead, not Buffy dead. Also let me point out that while Cordelia was lying in a coma Angel was making out with Buffy and fighting with Spike over who loves Buffy/who Buffy loves more. When Buffy died Angel had to go away to a monastery for a few months to recover. When Cordelia died he started dating a werewolf two episodes later. It's clear that after Cordelia came back in season 4 he had moved on from her. Even Cordelia said that they weren't meant to be together. Cordelia was one of his best friends and that's what Angel sees her as. Another one of his loved ones that died, like Fred. Angel knew Cordelia was never the love of his life or his girlfriend. The "Cangel" ship sank the moment it set sail. Stop trying to hold onto a relationship that never was and never will be

Cangel is a good ship, imo. I put that in the end to lighten things up. And I said lots of other things besides Cangel... You literally just told me that Angel and Cordelia didn't happen over and over again (which it actually did for a few brief moments) :/

This song brings up so many thoughts, feelings, and memories. It makes me sad, but then I remember that B/A are one-of-a-kind. That makes me happy. Though B/A don't exist in real life, they will always exist in my heart & mind. B/A will ALWAYS mean so much to me. The messages and meanings in nearly every episode say a lot. Though I get teary thinking about some of their moments, especially those when this song was played...epic stories such as this are mean to be celebrated. GO BUFFY AND ANGEL!
It's been a while since I last watched Buffy and I remember liking this theme, it was very sweet and sad and I wanted to hear it again, and, as I said it's been a while, and I didn't remembered quite well what happened and the reasons why Buffy and Angel couldn't be together and when 2:07 hit.... I suddenly remembered why, and I cried like a baby...

For me the greatest charm of the show was Angel and Buffy's relationship. It was SUCH a powerful romance that you fell in love with them as they fell for each other and you felt torn up inside when they went through all their trials.
But you know what I realized? Even though part of the reason Buffy wasn't as good in the later seasons was because Angel was gone, it would have started getting bad anyway, and it's possible that the fire that was Buffy/Angel would have been lost.
Watching Buffy in 2020, and crying every single time i listen this song.

Just finished watching Frozen, had to see what all the hype was about, and freaked out right at the end when I saw that the music was composed by Christopher Beck. Well, I had no choice then but to search for this bit of music :o)
I'm nowhere near the target demographic for Frozen, so I was shocked when one day I saw Christophe's credit for him, having had his music as part of growing up with Buffy! Similar moment when I realised that Alan Menken who wrote Little Shop of Horrors (a childhood favourite) was the guy who did a ton of memorable Disney scores later, too (and of course, the *amazing* Galavant).

The love between Buffy and Angel, is the reason why Twilight is so cheesy.
The Twilight romance is basically a poor rip off of Buffy and Angel's romance, except there's no reason for Bella and Edward to be drawn together. For Buffy and Angel, Buffy is the slayer. Angel is a vampire with a soul. It's these burdens they carry that brought them together, that bound them together and in some ways, that keep them apart.
Edward is drawn to Bella because...she smells good? Bella is drawn to Edward because he stalks her and stares at her awkwardly?

I wish i could share your post ***** because you are so right! Buffy and angel made it real because their love was forbidden. Bella and Edward's romance was a typical love triangle there wasnt a triangle between buffy angel and spike because buffy never truly fell in love again her love was angel and will always be angel no matter the circumstances.
Buffy and Angel aren't why Twilight is awful; Twilight does that all by itself. They do, however, showcase just how bad it is by being a shining example of the correct way to depict this romance.
Then you have the cruel Irony of Angel calling himself Twilight in complete disguise and the darkest moments to come from it: 206 dead Scythe activated Slayers (whether those we met on screen/on panel or not) and a dead ex-Watcher (though got better but de-aged for a time before restored to his proper age)

I just watched Angel season 1 episode 8: I will remember you. Damn they are the best pairing in the history of TV series. Just like Romeo & Juliet. I cried watching the ending of that episode...again.
This is such a great theme, I really wish they ended up together, shame it ended to tragically, but I guess that's what makes the relationship more memorable, more precious. I even still think Xander and Willow should have ended up together, too. back in the early episodes they blended so well, and they were so close that one night until that vampire had to ruin their kiss. But Angel and Buffy = Epic win.
I know a lot of people prefer spike and Buffy but for me Angel and Buffy bring all the feels of first love
Buffy and Angel is probably better but spike as a whole is a better character then Angel and is probably the most well written character in the entire show. His arc and his redemption story through the last 4 seasons is one of the best I’ve seen. And his monologue at the end of season 7 episode 2 is one of the best monologues I’ve ever seen Angel doesn’t compare

Me and my sister recently started buying the dvds, then at the same moment we remembered the music, and the memories came flooding back.
Everytime I heard this song on the show i thought "i love this song, i wonder what it's called." I first watched buffy like 3 years ago and today is when i finally typed into the youtube search bar "Bufy and Angel theme" and this was the first one so yay :)

Near the end of S7, Buffy implies that one day she'll be ready to get back with Angel; this is also referenced near the end of Angel S5. At a UK convention about 20 years ago, someone asked who Angel loves more: Buffy or Cordelia. Boreanaz replied "Angel's love is Buffy" and the audience went wild.

I first discovered buffy when my dad was on house arrest back when it came out and he called me from his mom's and he was watching it. So I turned it on to watch it with him.. it's been my comfort show ever since. I'm now 32 and every time I'm in a mental state, I have to watch it. 😢 buffy is my soul.

Reminiscing about those days where I would come home from elementary and watch Buffy… that’s where I began believing in Love. Such a blessing to have discovered this show at 10 years old !
For true Buffy & Angel fans: I almost broke down crying when this happened-the song kind of does that. The piano notes play such a sad song...sniffle...
For anyone who doesn't think it's sad, just think...could you stab your one true love through the heart with a sword? Dooming him or her to HELL for all eternity? (Given, he didn't stay forever, and it was that or send the rest of the world into Hell.) Either way, it's a sad, sad decision.

The song your talking about is actually "one last moment" which still has a similar feel to it. This one is from the scene at he end of Season 2 and this theme continues throughout season 3 as Buffy and Angel's "song." It's so beautiful. 2:11 was designed for a specific purpose… but for the big dramatic part of that scene.. not the one in becoming part 2. still absolutely heartbreaking

The entire premise was not just "high school as hell". The entire show was a metaphor for growing up, leaving behind childhood and embracing adulthood, or growing into yourself. With this comes new challenges, new anxieties. Life doesn't stop at/after high school and neither did the show.
