Think about it as a recreation of the first DOOM episode Knee-Deep in The Dead, Duke Nukem 3Ds Lunar Apocalypse, some DOOM 3 elements mixed with DOOM 2016 in overall, you suddenly realize that things on Phobos are getting really nasty. Out of nowhere everyone on Phobos freaks out with some urge to take Doomguy down, some strange hellish markings start to appear across Phobos base, you simply have to evacuate from this hostile place. Your first objective is to reach the space shuttle and head towards the base on Mars, but guess what - as always things are getting complicated and you simply have to crash land near your destination. Surprise, surprise, the Moon base is also infested by the demonic hellspawn and there way more of them, it seems that UAC did some nasty experiments with Hell, the board on Mars were rather under some influence. You can also unlock the only secret level from the third map, someone had their own teleporter to the spaceship above the orbit, interistinly it is rather made with some hellish influence as it does not look human at all. Once you return from the orbit it's time to go deeper to Mars itself and the UAC installations, you will notice that UACs experiments have gone way too far and they captured some of the species to experiment. Demon specimens were simply kept in the stasis but they found the way out to break, of course the biggest baddie being the Cyberdemon is contained in its own place (the turrets will help you) but you must defeat him anyway. In the final levels of the WAD you are about to find a portal to the other side - this one leads you straight to the Deimos base, probably it's the source of the demonic invasion, yuk.
I wish i could time travel back to like august 1993 to is software and show them this. Like "this is what fans will eventually create with your new game" and watch their brains melt out through their noses.
One of my guilty pleasure pointless time travel scenarios is going back to id during a pre-retail build of Doom 1 and showing Romero, Carmac, and the rest of the team _Doom_ 2016 and _Doom Eternal._ I'd imagine the almost hallucinatory intensity and sophistication of those visuals and the breakneck combat tempo ( especially in _Eternal_ ) would give them an elephant seal-sized existential crisis and compel the entire studio's staff to check themselves into a psych ward. Like, they *knew* PC visuals would be ludicrous thirty years into the future, but I don't think they could quite conceive of just how much the industry's technology has transformed visual fidelity and game design. Fun scenario to speculate about.
It just looked like a lot of corridors at first but as soon as you hit that room at 7:47 it was clearly E1M2 Nuclear Plant and I immediately received my nostalgia induced dopamine hit.

This wad looks like it might play very well with Hideous Destructor or LiTDoom. I'm a fan of your BD/PB playthroughs because you're not shit like so many others that play these mods. You're pretty damned good AND you seem to have a knack for finding badass maps to play

Yeah in general this channel is really good if you're a fan of Hideous Destructor just because there's a lot of Gzdoom reliant pseudo-realistic levels around here that felt like they were really common at one point but feel really painfully hard to find now. Might actually just boot this up in HD and see how it goes rn lol

Hey, having some technical difficulties here. I'm running this map pack with the latest project brutality and for some reason my fists don't work, I can't use equipment, and friendly marines shoot at me. Any idea what might be happening? I've tested with both GZDoom 4.7.1 and 4.10.0.
Awesome. Just one tiny thing, I think in most cases the glory kill mod doesn't make sense to be included. Plus you very rarely use it at all in all your playthrough and it still affects every enemy. I would not include this mod, except maybe in some rare instances. The bullet time, yes, it's useful, especially with so many aggressive enemies.
I love this club with Tori level.I think I would have turned it into the A survival horror also loves the axe zombie scientist and the female zombies as well.

playing the mod actually, it's dope as hell, but i'm having a little trouble with the paingiver addon, it's supposed to use the same rocket ammo as the normal rocket launcher but when i did pick up and start using it, it as a different ammo pool, i'm using the last staging build btw

As much as I love the sprites of the weapons. PB is way too much of a generally bloated experience for me to like. It is bloated on everything Redundant weaponry, redundant enemies, redundant features... That being said, it's pretty and is an excellent resource hub for reference and other mods because while it is bloated, everything individually is excellent (ok maybe except sound, insanity's brutality nailed that to the great wall almost half a decade ago.)

Download the Staging build from GitHub, avoid any weird builds over the net.
There is a dropdown button to the left with 'Master' set as default. Switch to PB_Staging and then click 'Code', download it as .zip file and voila.

You're possibly not using the staging build because some sprites were reworked in that build, hope this helps.
Why did health and armor reset on 2:43:16?
For some reason, that Mega Armor secret in MAP02 isn't tagged as a secret for me (playing the v1.3 Remaster).
