well funny enough, version 6.3.4 now does away with DRM MAX - all DRUM notes are now the same as other notes in phrases. so as long as you set your kick instrument to DRUM pitch, you can do this (transposing in tables is a bit weird though, instead of a full TSP 0C octave you might only need about TSP 03)
Yup, sure enough the day after this video, LSDj was updated to be more flexible! So, first I would turn transpose OFF since that's what the Drum tuning did before. You do still need to change to Drum tuning, but it has moved to P/L/V setting (press Up to change from FAST to DRUM). Now, instead of setting the DRM MAX, just use the note of the pitch where you want to start your kick in the phrase itself. So if you like your kick to start around C7 you can make the kick at C7 instead of B9. The table should be the same as it is in this video. And one other note - the TSP column in the table does not match the pitch like it does for non-Drum tuning, so if you venture to use it, be sure to test out the TSP by ear.
Whoa, that was a quick response! Thanks, got a solid kick now. However left out the L command in the Table. It didn't quite work. P and K were sufficient. Like the old days. :D
see this is the only problem i have with v5 onward i seem to find myself fighting with the new changes alot so i never get round to making a track as with v4 i can get right in to easily messing with kicks and stuff maybe i just need to adapt to v6 but i think v4 is the version for me currently
well as of 6.3.3 there is no more DRM MAX so you can actually tune your kicks like you would in v4. maybe i should make a tutorial video on how to upgrade a song to v6 - that being said i think the changes make it much better software. is there anything you think would be helpful to see in another tutorial?
@@godschariot314159265 hey I just wanted you to know I've been thinking about this and haven't forgotten! is there a song in particular you'd be interested in showing?
Great help man!
I guess gone are the days of just throwing a P on a table, transpose the first tick and killing it

Hm, that tuning setting is gone now - instead there's a transpose on/off setting. How would you create wav-kicks now?

@@DEFENSEMECHANISM Your tutorials are super helpful! I'm a bit late here, but I would love a tutorial on how to upgrade an older version to v6 :D
