  • Welcome to Bolton Stadium in Horwich, home to the Bolton Wanderers Football Club! This stadium was built in 1997 replacing the former ground, Burnden Park, which had been used for just over 100 years at the time. Bolton has a long history with football, with Bolton Wanderers being one of the founding clubs of what is now the FA Cup. It's been said that the first ever professional football match was held in Bolton. Burnden Park was also the site of one of the worst football disasters in history in 1946, a shopping centre now sits in its place. The current stadium was built in 1997 and has hosted almost all Bolton Wanderers home games. The stadium has also hosted other events; mostly concerts of musicians like Pink, Rod Stewart and Oasis, as well as other sports events like the Rugby League World Cup in 2022.
