Welcome to Slow Scenes UK! This is a channel where you can enjoy the sights and sounds of the UK in a calm and relaxing way. There’s no music, no narration, no pop-ups, no flashy effects and dinging bells. Just pure unfiltered, unedited audio with pristine 4K UHD quality video. In the description of each video you’ll find some facts and information about that particular place which might come in handy if you hopefully decide to visit! Lord Street, Southport - 4K walk - Slow Scenes UK
Let's take a stroll down Lord Street, the main shopping throughfare in Southport. If it reminds you of the streets of Paris, you're not wrong. Napoléon III of France lived near Lord Street for a brief period in 1846. Between 1854 and 1870, Paris was reconstructed with new tree-lined boulevards and covered walkways, and it's widely documented that Lord Street was a direct inspiration for the regeneration of the French capital under Napoléon's rule.

I visited on a days works outing in 1965 and thought it the most magnificent street id ever seen ..I've not been back and cannot understand why it isn't given international recognition

This is great content for us footy fans outside the UK who've never attended matches. A couple of ideas for future videos. 1. You could make it a series and do at least 20 EPL Club stadiums around the country. 2. Walk with a drone or mounted camera for a smoother shot and better quality. 3. add light music and basic video effects. Great video concept you have here.

guessing the bell doesnt chime anymore ?
For some reason the bell wasn't chiming on that day. I think they supposedly replaced it with an electric one around 2018 ish but I went in 2020 and the bell was chiming then.
@@slowscenesuk how odd that bell normally as what i know of chimes non stop every 30 seconds the 1 time i ever visited think it was chiming then did readup on articles the operators / owners trinity house wanted to replace it with a fog horn so if thats case then sadly thats a 2nd lighthouse thatll never have character again given trinity house as of 2022 had the lantern at bridlington flamborough lighthouse replaced with stupid (in me own opinion) blinking led lights that im glad i went to see the old lense knowing now it was the final time but at the time not knowing
