Why would you cut the leads? Just unplug everything and you could sell all the pulled parts on eBay to make some of the money back you spent on the new system.

I have a Ms Pacman Partycade, only has 2 buttons on the right side. Is this still a viable mod? Thanks.
@@DaveMunsie very good question. The third button changes nothing except that you can’t search in the menu. You’d have to drill a 1 1/8” hole into the control deck. If you decide not to drill you can always use a Bluetooth controller to search for games since you won’t have that third button. The vast majority of these games use no more than 1 button, and in many cases, no buttons.

Very Cool and I guess relatively easy but $350 for the mod kit - no thanks, I'll just get the latest handheld with HDMI out. and if I do mod it, I would do it on the Street Fighter partycade. thanks for posting the tutorial!

For me personally, button mapping is the worst. Believe it or not I found this relatively straightforward....but the fact that you did not show the button mapping in tbis video lightweight makes it incomplete because, well, you CANT play the games until that crucial step is performed. Other than that, dope kit.

Btw. I would suggest to use a passive cooler for the Raspberry Pi.

I thought shutting down the pi by turning off the power strip would eventually fry the pi. Is that not the case with this build?
@@rayriley9102 yes it’s recommended to safely shut it down. this video was just to show the mod. One of our previous videos shows how to operate the arcade. From the main menu, press select and shut down. You would still need to flip the switch to power off the marquee and monitor.

So basically for around 600 you got yourself a nice little arcade
If you have a Partycade you can buy the mod kit for $199. They’ve been sold before at Walmart for $99. However, They’ve been mainly out of stock lately
My full-size upright cab only cost me $300 to build lol.

I have a 1up regular Pacman arcade cabinet (1st Gen), will this mod work with that too?
