“You act and feel not according to how things really are, but the image of what your mind holds of what things are like.” Damn, that one hit hard. Thank you Anna ✨
Your off the rails humor helps me with my mental health. Some comedy is soo telling that the person lives a regular life that it makes me feel disconnected from life
I've tried to communicate this to my therapist so many times. For so many years I've thought about myself as depressed and damaged from childhood trauma. I've practiced these ideas and thought patterns so much it's become a part of how I perceive my own identity. And changing these patterns is even harder than usual because I feel like I don't know who I am anymore if I'm not struggling
I think damaged people still make a beautiful world. Maybe you can start to see that the people around you are all damaged in some type of way, and all we can do is try to find strength and happiness despite our suffering.
I'd like to believe this is a stage in recovery. When we're hurt it is easy to get consumed by our problems and we often don't pay attention to other parts of our lives anymore. It is important to become aware of how our past has shaped our life and our persona to be able to move forward. I think it is only natural for a lot of us that it becomes part of our identy, because the matter of the fact is that our trauma and experiences shaped our life and who we are. I believe the next step is to let go of it and get excited to find out who we are now and what makes us happy. ❤
This is great. Well done Anna. You do such a wonderful job presenting these ideas. I wish someone like you were around when I suffered as a young man, but neither the internet, nor personal computers existed back then. I can only imagine the number of people you are helping with such creative and supportive content.
1:58 omg my fav character is back! I love her 🥹❤ 4:26 haha as a Canadian I can tell you this type of “luxury” service would not be covered by our free healthcare but love the message! 🙌🏻 I am such a fan of these comedy skits on reprogramming our subconscious mind. That’s what I’ve been working on this year and my life has changed drastically. Thank you for sharing your gift with us. You are making our world a better place. Bless your soul 💜
Weirdly enough, I stumbled into some of these techniques as a pre-teen. I didn't like who I was at that age. So, my solution was to work up some broad goals for myself (be confident, be personable, be a leader, etc), and slowly adapted my activities and thought processes to align with those goals. This fundamentally altered a lot of my personality. It took several therapists to figure out that this wasn't a crazy dissociation game I'd played on myself, but rather a surprisingly healthy way to grow up into a person I understood and liked.
Canada here: I had someone tell me that a relative went to the vet for a scan because it took so long with wait times and they were in awful pain. Obviously a better system, but aim just a little higher than Canada's system
So… is your doubt on your singing stopping you from going on tour? Cause if so, that doubt ain’t true, there’s a reason we love your songs, you are great and amazing at your many skills!❤🎶
I genuinely appreciate the depth and eloquence of your content. Even though I suspect you might be younger than me, I can't help but admire and look up to you. Would love to see longer videos from you!
Excellent life advice followed by a satirical roast against USA, my favorite kind of satire. Just what I needed at a critical career-changing point in my life. (I fancy myself a starving Voiceover artist and am working on the steps of setting up my work space properly) The satire also reminds me of a joke I heard many years ago about 8 transactions taking place between 4 men all at different points in time. Here's how it works: Man A owes Man B 20 dollars but only has 10 dollars, Man B agrees to take the 10 and an IOU. Man B owes Man C 20 dollars but only has that same 10, Man C agrees to take the 10 and an IOU. Man C owes Man D 20 dollars but only has that same 10, Man D agrees to take the 10 and an IOU. Man D owes Man A 20 dollars but only has that same 10, Man A agrees to take the 10 and an IOU. Now Man A has 10 more dollars to pay back Man B and they are square Now Man B has 10 more dollars to pay back Man C and they are square Now Man C has 10 more dollars to pay back Man D and they are square Now Man D has 10 more dollars to pay back Man A and they are square So 10 dollars has been enough for 80 dollars. And the money is right back where it started!
Having read the book, there are some uncomfortable christian undertones to Maltz's methods. He basically requires you to accept a higher power, but the basics still work. Visualizing who you want to be and working towards it will always be better than autopilot
Had no idea any of that existed. For all I know, "maltz" could have been something made up. "Christian" ideas? So more of "the power of positive thinking" crap, right? That Norman Vincent Peale used to play Americans for suckers! And we know who one of his more ardent "believers" is, right? Donnie and his father Fred. Empower themselves with "positive thinking" while having their tenants live in poverty with overpriced rent.
As a canadian I'm pretty sure therapy isnt covered by the government, nor is dental or visioncare, or most drugs (but theose are cheaper than in the US for some reasons)
As someone who have been in a ER in Canada, healthcare is free for residents and citizens of Canada, not for everyone. Still paying those Canadians' bill. Love your videos, Keep on sliving!
are you the same person as the Anna Akana that sings "Run?" I had no idea I was also a fan of your music! that's one of my favorite songs. you are multi-talented
I'm not well informed on the medical industrial complex, but I think it is substantially larger than the military industrial complex. ----- I had this psychology professor at school that said that after a pdoc has been in practice for six months the whole world starts to look like a cess pool. I think that psychoanalysis can be pretty punishing for both doctor and patient, but life isn't easy for anyone.
I had this thing with math, at school I was bad at it but then I chose to become an engineer and now I'm a lot better, probably I'll never be as quick as someone who's talented at it but I can definitely do it now 😂
mental health is not covered by universal healthcare, or dental in canada, its only specific procedures and if you are above 18 you probably pay for mental health services

Heh heh …… Tyra Banks. That episode of ANTM never gets old.

That ending lol thank you for always saying what needs to be said
Bee Tee Dubs, Anna: Healthcare here in Canada is... NOT FREE! :) Have a nice day. :)

You should read the book. *Bring out the Magic of your Mind* . Visualising, is not just wishful thinking.
Valley Girl Anna is a vibe.
I think I used the tools subconsciously and somehow, came out on the other side feeling more positive about myself. I love your videos, Anna!
