Nice! Great seeing you do more and more headphone reviews, Paul! Hope you can take a look at the Fiio JT1 and the Aune AR5000. Not much reviews on them yet, so would be fun to hear your thoughts about them.

I'd love to get my hands on Aune but close to zero chance. Sounded like they were having a hard time getting them out the door with the number of orders. I am trying to get more loaners on headphones though, just a background task of trying to convince people I will actually return their gear.

@PaulWasabii I am so close to pulling the trigger on them for about $255. Just waiting for my cashflow to normalise! A few recent reviews have continued to be positive on them at the $300 price point. EIther way, looking forward to your future headphone reviews!

Love these headphones, also just got the jt1 and it’s really damn good for $60-70.

I’m thinking about buying the ft5 planar headphone they have. A bassy planar headphone sounds like a good time imo.

The suede pads sound the best imo.

Yeah, I am not sure which are the default, these loaners came with suede installed. I wasn't a fan on the leathers but I also thought Apos sent them to another reviewer who preferred leather. Worth trying both.

@@PaulWasabii some say the pleather pads add to the stage at the cost of the low end. Tbh I just kept it stock, also I just got the jt1….you need to try that one lol. $69 dollar banger. It’s maybe the best closed back I’ve heard (I haven’t really gone beyond $300 with closed back), imo better than the 99 classics. No ear swivel, but you can just bend the headphone a bit.

    Hi
How do these headphones compare to the Philips x2hr or Hifiman Sundara? Thanks

Sorry, I haven't had that much experience with headphones. As a general observer, both of those modes are more popular which typically means FiiO did something interesting, but not as generally appealing. The 350ohm impedance isn't going to be as popular as a 32ohm model which is much easier to drive if you don't have a big FiiO dac/amp on your desk.

Hi Paul. Do you think the TempoTec March III - M3 (4.4mm BAL output power: 630mW/32Ω) can push the FiiO FT3?

    • @PaulWasabii

Hard to say, but FiiO has a page on it: www.fiio.com/newsinfo/839924.html

@@PaulWasabii Mine finnaly arrived and the Fiio K3 dac (it's very simple, output power 3.5mm 220mW(16Ω)) managed to push it well, I was very surprised. The TempoTec March M3 (much more powerful than the K3) has plenty of volume.

Yes, my btr7 drives them fine with plenty of headroom.
