Professor Binns was a ghost teacher for Muggle Studies albeit a boring class, was the original class where Hermione asked about the CoS he denied her request, but that seems pretty big info about a ghost storyline.
Level 2 The other reason was Lupin died insted so as to have a mirrored type of life as Harry albeit a much better one, Parents died fighting Voldemort, not super present Godfather(Harry), and cared for away from the Wizarding World (somewhat) by his grandmother Andromeda.
Vampire stuff that was popular in the 90s - buffy, blade, underworld, interview with a vampire and queen or the damned, from dusk til dawn, the Lost boys, and episodes of shows like are you afraid of the dark, x files, outer limits, goosebumps, and probably more.
I think it's funny how Fudge went from the Muggle head of government who tries to warn everyone of Voldemort to the wizarding head of government who tries to sweep it under the rug.
He sent nagini to scout because he didnt want the death eaters to know the words of the prophecy out of distrust or lack of belief in them, he cared more for the snake
Only Voldemort or Harry could've obtained the prophecy from the Hall of Prophecy. Voldy sent the snake because he was possessing Nagini at the time. I belive Snape and/or Dumbledore confirms this at some point.
I like to think Snape was an animagus that turned into a bat. He learned James and the Marauders had done it and wanted to match their achievement. He also may have wanted to spy on them by flying around at night trying to see what they were up to
I always thought Hermiones last name was Granger because it sounds like „stranger“, since she is discriminated against for being perceived as an outsider in the story. So that name might underline her being different
Yes. The only good thing about The Cursed Child was witnessing his full redemption. That’s the only thing my mind considers cannon about that fiasco. Thank goodness I didn’t go through with spending thousands of dollars traveling across the country to see it during its first run in New York.
37:35 okay, but the Weasleys are related to the Black family and the Malfoys. Sirius Black and Arthur Weasley are second cousins once removed. In fact, all the pure-blood families are related, according to Sirius. We also do get several Slytherins that did good things: Sirius' brother Regulus (who was obviously also a cousin of Arthur Weasley's) sacrificed himself in order to destroy a horcrux. Draco Malfoy purposely didn't tell on Harry when the Golden Trio was trapped at Malfoy manner. And we know it was on purpose because even if he didn't completely recognise Harry (which seems unlikely), he would've still recognised Ron and Hermione right away. Snape might be a bully, but he still saved Harry's life several times. Saying that Slytherins never do anything good is simply not true.

However, imagine killing of one of the twins this way. It would move the death to a point much earlier in the story and set a tone to "now the fun is over, darkness comes".

Hermione Puckle Gun. The Puckle gun is a tripod-mounted, single-barreled flintlock weapon fitted with a manually operated revolving cylinder. Puckle advertised its main application as an anti-boarding gun for use on ships.
It's not entirely true that the Slytherins never do any good in the book. Slughorn turns up as part of the reinforcements to fight the final battle following Harry's resurrection. "And now there were more, even more people storming up the front steps, and Harry saw Charlie Weasley overtaking Horace Slughorn, who was still wearing his emerald pyjamas. They seemed to have returned at the head of what looked like the families and friends of every Hogwarts student who had remained to fight, along with the shopkeepers and homeowners of Hogsmeade. The centaurs Bane, Ronan and Magorian burst into the Hall with a great clatter of hooves, as behind Harry the door that led to the kitchens was blasted off its hinges." (DH, Ch36). Presumably he saw his students to safety before doing so, but he could easily have chosen otherwise. Also, I think the sorting statue idea is quite interesting, I,personally, would have been quite entertained to find the Founders arguing over student choices. What would have had to happen if those arguments had turned into a scrap? They didn't exactly get along by the time they died.
If Flamel's death had happened before Harry Potter's first birthday, that definitely would've defeated the whole following plotlines of the Philosopher's Stone deal: The attempted robbery at Gringotts, the enchanted puzzles under the trap door to get to the new location of the Mirror of Erised where the stone was supposed to be protected; None of those would have existed for the purpose of the story without the stone's ability to keep Flamel alive by the day after the Quirrell/Voldemort vs Harry Potter showdown.
@@VaultLore ; But Dumbledore's trick with the Mirror of Erised has stopped him and would've done so because that was the actual part of the puzzles that I was referring to.😉 We, should all know by now that everything that Dumbledore and Voldemort put Harry through in Harry's first year was for the purpose of his character growth taking root which also supposed to benefit for the character growth for Hermione and Ron, without all that, we would've barley hit a dead end in knowing the characters better for later stories, if additional obstacles didn't exist and the reveals about Harry's family would have been more confusing than just to put him at a crossroads by the events of year 5 when he does finally find out who his father used to be😅.🤝
Bro! the ghost in the last movie! Ravenclaw's daughter who basically directed Tom to one of the objects he used as a horcrux and later hinted Harry to where it was hidden
I think Voldemort sent Nagini to scout for the prophecy because he can physically see through her eyes, in the same way he and Harry can look through each other. The Horcrux connection. Since prophecies can only be retrieved by the subjects of the prophecy, maybe Nagini could have actually retrieved it, since she possesses part of Voldemort's soul.
Oooh interesting idea. I forgot about that, it doesn’t seem super clear if the bad effects of picking up a prophecy that isn’t about you are innate to prophecies themselves, or just a protective thing the ministry of magic places on them..
there is a sibling relationship introduced in the later books that mirros Lily and Petunia, Regulus and Sirius. Sirius is abnormal in his family much like Lily but in Lily's case her parents seem to fully support her whereas Sirius has a very negative relationship with not only his brother but also his parents. We find out that Regulus made an incredible sacrifice to stop Voldemort just like Lily while Sirius and Petunia are cut off from the magial world. I could watch a full video on this honestly
In the earlier Lego sets from Harry Potter years 1 and 2 they had a sorting turn table platform in stead of the sorting hat itself, this was also done for the Lego Creator Harry Potter games too. So, I wonder if that turntable platform was based on both the pre-drafted house sorting machine and the representation of the Sorting Hat? Because I thought the platform itself looked a bit out of place for it to be in the story that I know today.
Pretty sure that's more a matter of Lego caring more about making something interactive to play with, not true-to-book/movie showpieces. Not sure about exact timeline, but I'm sure book version came before the Lego ones... movie one may well have too.
@@imperfectionist2575; I am well aware that the Lego sets came out before the movies, but that is the irrelevant part of my question, but, I guess what you saying is that it is probably just a coincidence that the Lego Harry Potter sorting platform just happen to resemble roughly on one of Rowling's sketch notes.👌👍🤝😅
It’s been awhile since I read the books, but I could have sworn that the kids actually speculated that Snape might be a vampire. Which is where I think the rumor came from. The way the kids discuss him when they first meet him. I could definitely be wrong though. Lol
You’re not far off. I think one of the characters makes a comment that their next DatDA professors is going to be a vampire. It’s not about snape, even though he does teach that class later on!
There was a vampire storyline as Rowling was going to have a teacher that was a vampire, plus in the books in Honeydukes found lollipops she thought were blood pops not that it was specified, but scrapped the idea because of Snape and Lupin.
I am glad vampires werent such a big thing in HP. She could have even left them out completely. For me, vampires always imply the existence of the christian religion which opens too many questions that wont be answered.
I always believed that Dumbledore couldn’t see under the cloak, he could just see the traces of magic around it to know that it was there. From there he just assumes it’s Harry because it’s Harry’s cloak. Dumbledore said that all magic leaves traces, even if the are difficult to detect and I think the cloak’s traces must be very difficult but Dumbledore knows what to look for for given that he studied the cloak and had it in his possession for 10 years. As for why Moody can SEE Harry under the cloak…idfk
You could have Dumbledore come back from a created horcrux and have him under the control of a new enemy and bring back the OG kids to work with their kids in the new series to defeat the new evil and free Dumbledore from the control of said villain as a what if Just throwing that out there :)
at 2:38 you have a bit of a slip and say "that's why we'll probably never see another game of thrones book ever again", which... might be true, but probably not due to JKR.
@@VaultLore No yeah that's my bad, I just didn't understand. The late hour of my comment and my personal herbology lessons probably affected that a bit. My apologies.

Nearly headless Nick only refers to his beheading once. After Ron said something kinda insulting, he answers „You‘ve got the tackt of a blunt axe“. But I would have also skipped the song. It just doesn’t fit into a book for me..
Honestly the biggest cut plot is Dumbledore is gay, even cut out of the books and only after JK added it in a interview. Apparently she wanted to include it but each time she tried to add it into the story it took up to much space, and if you made it this far you probably knew this is fake. Jk just wanted brownie points and just made it up.
I’m glad that Harry and hermoine didn’t hook up. It’s such a cliche trope when the main characters are opposite sexes. They always make then the love interest in the story. I’m happy and it was smart to deviate from such a worn out arch.
Really great so far but just as a fyi at 2 mins and 35 seconds idk if it was to be funny or not im autistic so sorry if i missed a joke but you said games of thrones book and not harry potter book just want to let you know.
A huge missed opportunity was not including Muggles more in the story. They're literally just background morons the entire series. Imagine a redemption arc for Petunia, where she rolls up during the Battle of Hogwarts with a rifle and starts sniping Death Eaters. A bunch of close-minded purebloods wouldn't have known what the fuck was happening. Jacob Kowalski was one of the few things Fantastic Beasts did right. Muggles have extremely advanced technology, much of which is superior to magic. Having a few Muggle characters actually impact the story would have been awesome. Sadly, Rowling isn't a skilled enough writer to pull that off.
Totally agree with songs in books. Especially because rhyming is the focus rather than telling a good story or using better literary devices. LotR was lousy with songs that sucked because they were hard to even comprehend, and we dont know how the song should be sung ... plus, songs without music are just sentences.

I always loved the idea of Harry Potter, Hogwarts and Magic in general, but was not so interested in the movies. I only read Prisoner of Azkaban but now I really want to read the rest.
yo, congrats on 10.000!
Thank you!! Next stop 100,000!!
Great video, very informative. Narration is quite good.
If I may, please consider the ambience of the video. Perhaps some background music?
I subbed homie you deserve a lot more. Thank you 😊
I’ll consider it! I don’t want it to be too distracting so I’ll have to work on it. Thanks for watching!
Instead of music, how about real life ambiance sounds of footsteps from your upstairs neighbor, and people chewing with their mouth open, dogs barking, and distant tornado sirens. @VaultVideosYT
Thought about general ambiance, maybe I’ll add ambient rain in the next one.
Just subbed! Keep up the awesome work 👏
Thank you! Thanks for watching!
Eh maybe, I think they still would have wanted to keep it out of voldemorts hands, right?
Not that the trap doors and puzzles really would have stopped him… 😂
@@VaultLore ; But Dumbledore's trick with the Mirror of Erised has stopped him and would've done so because that was the actual part of the puzzles that I was referring to.😉 We, should all know by now that everything that Dumbledore and Voldemort put Harry through in Harry's first year was for the purpose of his character growth taking root which also supposed to benefit for the character growth for Hermione and Ron, without all that, we would've barley hit a dead end in knowing the characters better for later stories, if additional obstacles didn't exist and the reveals about Harry's family would have been more confusing than just to put him at a crossroads by the events of year 5 when he does finally find out who his father used to be😅.🤝
Bro! the ghost in the last movie! Ravenclaw's daughter who basically directed Tom to one of the objects he used as a horcrux and later hinted Harry to where it was hidden
Snape was already the redemtpion arc. Draco was the character we are wondering about how evil he is. Adding a clear redemption would have been cheesy
I think I remember the “dark times” Rowling was referring to when thinking about killing off Ron was when her mother passed away.
Earned my sub 😎
Thanks for watching!
I have only seen the movies. This makes me want to read the books.
Do it!
You should’ve done that a few years back.
Did you do it?
there is a sibling relationship introduced in the later books that mirros Lily and Petunia, Regulus and Sirius.
I wonder if any elements of the sorting hat ideation were revived for the goblet of fire.
Oh good question, could be
Great Job!
Thank you! Cheers!
I meant Hermione found the pops.
good video!!! keep it up
Thanks for watching!
Underrated channel ⚡️⚡️⚡️
Thank you!! Spread the word :)
31:00 I'm fairly sure that JKR is acquainted with genetics, she's in been in the news about her views on it. "did ya know"
Hahaha fair point. Acquainted might the right word, knowledge is a different subject.
Thank goodness for free speech, right?
42:20 literally everything Trelawney predicted came true... That's the running joke.
As for why Moody can SEE Harry under the cloak…idfk
lol ~~~magic~~~
Moody's fake eye was enchanted... thats why...
And then Hagrid said...Youre a wizard harry, oh wait. Scratch that
Harry said furiously
Ded
You could have Dumbledore come back from a created horcrux and have him under the control of a new enemy and bring back the OG kids to work with their kids in the new series to defeat the new evil and free Dumbledore from the control of said villain as a what if Just throwing that out there :)
Ah yes, just like Evil Nindroid Sensei Wu
i definitely dont read songs in books either (unless its the hunger games)
Anne Rice was big when JK was writing, vampires.
great video lil bro
Don’t call me little bro
But thanks for watching 😂
@@VaultLore 😂😂😂
Like they said there’s always 2 sides to story
Not finished the video yet but just want to say thank you for this video
Appreciate you watching!
at 2:38 you have a bit of a slip and say "that's why we'll probably never see another game of thrones book ever again", which... might be true, but probably not due to JKR.
Just meant that grrm edits his storylines into oblivion, hence probably never releasing winds of winter.
@@VaultLore No yeah that's my bad, I just didn't understand. The late hour of my comment and my personal herbology lessons probably affected that a bit.
My apologies.
All good, it was a poorly written sentence haha I just had GoT on my mind
Haha personal herbology lessons, just saw that

Haha I just glaze over every time. thanks for watching!
@@VaultLore I'll be watching whatever comes next as well
Glad you’re here!
I think you would make nice videos about Harry Potter methods of rationality
Can you elaborate? What is that?
@@VaultLore there's this one Harry Potter iceberg that includes a fanfiction that tries to explain the wizarding world with the scientific method , I didn't finish it but liked the concept , since it's so big and there not really any video discussing it in depth , I just thought you would have the profile to be the one to do it
Interesting, maybe!
I would like to know more about that too
Older vampire media dracula, buffy, blade, and underworld
Quite a lot of older animes as well like hellsing. Vampires were favourites in media for a long time
What spell does Dumbledore use to see Harry while he is wearing the invisibility cloak?
A nonverbal casting of Homenum Revelio according to JKR.
Nearly headless Nick only refers to his beheading once. After Ron said something kinda insulting, he answers „You‘ve got the tackt of a blunt axe“. But I would have also skipped the song. It just doesn’t fit into a book for me..
Haha yeah idk my eyes just kind of glaze over when I get to those parts. Maybe that’s a me problem.
@@VaultLoreNo problem, dude! It wasn't really relevant to your point, it's just a funfact.
Yeah that’s a good one!
Lucifer Malice Foil. Lucious Malfoy
bro don’t compare shotty ahh game of thrones to harry potter
I think t would be good to see other schools perspective and a chance to create new characters.
😂
JKs mum died while writing it. Dementors are depression
why dont wizards simply take over the muggle world.
how is muggle weapons superior to magic weapons
I’m glad that Harry and hermoine didn’t hook up. It’s such a cliche trope when the main characters are opposite sexes. They always make then the love interest in the story. I’m happy and it was smart to deviate from such a worn out arch.
Fair point!
Dude you have to do a iceberg video on gringots
Good call!
@@VaultLore that would be so interesting

Petunia had a type of redemption (or sympathy) via a deleted scene
Im late, sorry just found this channel, inwant to stay live so i will rewatch as soon as you finish to catch the first couple. Btw thank you for this

Totally agree with songs in books. Especially because rhyming is the focus rather than telling a good story or using better literary devices. LotR was lousy with songs that sucked because they were hard to even comprehend, and we dont know how the song should be sung ... plus, songs without music are just sentences.
Spungen reminds me of Nancy spungen- who was murdered by Sid vicious. It makes me think of murderous/ bad intentions, and rebellion as Nancy was a punk. Would be a good alternative name to Malfoy.
