Voldy, being well aware of the enchantments protecting The Prophecy in the hall of the Department of Mysteries by having ordered an Unspeakable (Broderick Bode) to be Imperiused and encouraged to retrieve it, was confidently sending Nagini on anti/counter intelligence probes. It is possible that he believed that she could retrieve the Prophecy being in her animal form. It’s assumed that by the time of the reformation of the Order of the Phoenix, that she was “stuck” as a snake, and also made into a Horcrux; and, so, in keeping with this notion she would be virtually indestructible. Her attack of Arthur Weasley was, otherwise, undetectable, without her having been turned into the one creature that Voldy was convinced that he, alone, could communicate with, and, therefore, command. To me, at least, it seemed like she was used as an experiment/test subject to gauge, not only Dumbledore’s response, but also the security of the MoM, itself. He knew better than to just stroll into the Ministry, even though he was one of the parties eligible to retrieve the Prophecy. It seems, to me, at least, that he was testing the boundaries of his Horcruxes and whether or not they could fully and physically act on his desires. Sending Nagini was, ultimately, the same as sending the Diary. Tom would be able to affect time/space/opportunity without actually being present. It is possible that he believed that Nagini, bearing an essential part of him (his soul), might be able to retrieve the Prophecy, and that he believed that by her being a Horcrux, she might escape the plight that had befallen Bode. Her attacking Arthur Weasley and it being simultaneously conveyed to Dumbledore probably seemed an impossibility to the wizard who believed himself to be the most clever and covert. I don’t honestly think that Voldy had even considered himself to have been connected to Harry had even occurred to him before the attack in the DoM…. Unfortunately, it seems that Nagini was to be used, experimentally, to determine whether or not his Horcruxes could be sustained in the face of Deep/Enduring Magic, such as that of the DoM. Essentially, he sent Nagini to strike at a brick wall/magical stronghold in order to test the depths of his understanding of Magic. The fact that she attacked Arthur was likely an inevitable happening, as she probably would have attacked anyone she had encountered there (the Order was performing secret surveillance operations just outside of the DoM). So, to answer your question regarding why do I think Voldy sent Nagini into the DoM in his place: it’s simply a symptom of his fear of Death/dying that led him to use Nagini in the ways that he did. And, although, he did eventually show his face in the MoM, he, ultimately, believed that no one alive would/could or had tested the depths of magic in the way that he had. It was, seemingly, pure arrogance that had motivated him to make use of Nagini as one of his indestructible, but verbally manageable, ‘toys’ to probe the DoM for the information that Snape either couldn’t or wouldn’t give him about the Prophecy. She would have attacked anyone, irrespective of who they were if they were there, because those were her orders. And, I believe that, if it hadn’t had been Arthur Weasley on patrol that night, she would’ve killed anyone else who had been there, on her Master’s orders.

Lily was a charms master obviously, she was capable of really advanced magic. In that memory from snape I think, she was able to let go of the swing and seemingly fly. In that vein, could it be possible that she was commissioned by someone, perhaps the French ministry of magic, to protect the stone. So that flower that she gave to slughorn is actually the stone which turns back into the stone when she dies and is also why slughorn is on the run to begin with.
Lily was suppossed to be pregnant when killed that night by Voldemort, George danced twice with Ginny at her wedding in place of Fred those are two I found out about that are canon.
Braille books? What about audio books? Where the German synchronisation by Rufus Beck is the best one I've ever heard. He makes all the special voices and has a really smoothing voice. Also, there is a blind wizard in Harry Potter, fanfiction. 'Geheimnisse der Vergangenheit', 'Geheimnis der Dementoren', 'Der geheimnisvolle Wohltäter' from Tom Börner, starting at HP2 and beyond running parallel to the OG story. It is in German but it's an awesome story. There is also a HP podcast by Coldmirror, also German, which goes over the entire 1st HP movie telling trivial facts. It's a shame that it's not available in English but maybe hopefully you can get far enough with a translation tool. It's worth it in my opinion. Apart from that, I really love your videos. When I was still a kid and the books were still being written I remember seeing a blog or webpage where someone was saying that in early drafts Blaise Zabini was originally going to be a member of the main group. That he would have filled that friendly Slytherin role I wish the series had. They also said thats why he we know a bit more of his background. I do think it was just a fan theory but I do remember they had a couple sketches of him with the trio. While most probably not real its an interesting idea to think about especially considering his mother/family life and being a slytherin. it'd be interesting to see what kind of character he'd be in the later books if he did become their friend, or at least friendly.
Basically that is what Deatheaters are supposed to (partially)be represented as: Ignorant group of cultists following someone who is both a cultic leader and is an Occult being himself.
If Flamel's death had happened before Harry Potter's first birthday, that definitely would've defeated the whole following plotlines of the Philosopher's Stone deal: The attempted robbery at Gringotts, the enchanted puzzles under the trap door to get to the new location of the Mirror of Erised where the stone was supposed to be protected; None of those would have existed for the purpose of the story without the stone's ability to keep Flamel alive by the day after the Quirrell/Voldemort vs Harry Potter showdown.
@@VaultLore ; But Dumbledore's trick with the Mirror of Erised has stopped him and would've done so because that was the actual part of the puzzles that I was referring to.😉 We, should all know by now that everything that Dumbledore and Voldemort put Harry through in Harry's first year was for the purpose of his character growth taking root which also supposed to benefit for the character growth for Hermione and Ron, without all that, we would've barley hit a dead end in knowing the characters better for later stories, if additional obstacles didn't exist and the reveals about Harry's family would have been more confusing than just to put him at a crossroads by the events of year 5 when he does finally find out who his father used to be😅.🤝
Interview with a vampire and bram stokers Dracula had both come out around when jk was working on the early books and they were both big in the media cycle. Then there was also buffy the vampire slayer that was also a huge deal. Blade also hit around that time, from dusk til dawn. So there was definitely a bit of a vampire craze in media at the time

I'd love to see you do this kind of coverage with The Inheritance Cycle. You've brought up Eragon in another video. Eragon and Harry Potter were formative books for me as a kid and teenager later. They laid out my desire to write my own fantasy book. That, and of course, Lord of the Rings.
Damn, an eragon series would be a throwback. That was the fantasy world I wanted to live in (as long as I had powers haha) so I might have to do it at some point! I’ve got a bunch of HP videos in the hopper, so those will come first but after that….
In the earlier Lego sets from Harry Potter years 1 and 2 they had a sorting turn table platform in stead of the sorting hat itself, this was also done for the Lego Creator Harry Potter games too. So, I wonder if that turntable platform was based on both the pre-drafted house sorting machine and the representation of the Sorting Hat? Because I thought the platform itself looked a bit out of place for it to be in the story that I know today.
Pretty sure that's more a matter of Lego caring more about making something interactive to play with, not true-to-book/movie showpieces. Not sure about exact timeline, but I'm sure book version came before the Lego ones... movie one may well have too.
@@imperfectionist2575; I am well aware that the Lego sets came out before the movies, but that is the irrelevant part of my question, but, I guess what you saying is that it is probably just a coincidence that the Lego Harry Potter sorting platform just happen to resemble roughly on one of Rowling's sketch notes.👌👍🤝😅

34:46 I'd hate to see him die but that would have been kino for him to die in a way that mirrored the chess tactic where he died so the others can beat Voldemort's strongest "piece" and win
What if the tusk disappeared after nick was killed? When a wizard dies cast spells are removed, ie when dumbledore died the body bind he put on Harry was removed. The tusk lady had nick killed as a full proof way of getting rid of the tusk rather than waiting for him to get rid of it.
Hermione Puckle Gun. The Puckle gun is a tripod-mounted, single-barreled flintlock weapon fitted with a manually operated revolving cylinder. Puckle advertised its main application as an anti-boarding gun for use on ships.
Hey, I know this is a random thing to bring up but me and my wife actually talked about this and I’m actually a professional movie maker so I don’t work with a Books, but I do a bit of writing myself. I think another reason why she may have not had vampires on top of popular franchises being out back in the 90s. Is think about just tell overpower vampires are in popular media, immortal superstrength, super speed. Usually vampires or magic welders themselves. It would sort of make being a wizard sort of redundant at that point. My point is in popular media when people think of a werewolf, they usually think of someone being Kirsten, turning into a beast once a month that they can’t control. Versus a vampire is typically depicted as the ultimate creature of the night.
It's not entirely true that the Slytherins never do any good in the book. Slughorn turns up as part of the reinforcements to fight the final battle following Harry's resurrection. "And now there were more, even more people storming up the front steps, and Harry saw Charlie Weasley overtaking Horace Slughorn, who was still wearing his emerald pyjamas. They seemed to have returned at the head of what looked like the families and friends of every Hogwarts student who had remained to fight, along with the shopkeepers and homeowners of Hogsmeade. The centaurs Bane, Ronan and Magorian burst into the Hall with a great clatter of hooves, as behind Harry the door that led to the kitchens was blasted off its hinges." (DH, Ch36). Presumably he saw his students to safety before doing so, but he could easily have chosen otherwise. Also, I think the sorting statue idea is quite interesting, I,personally, would have been quite entertained to find the Founders arguing over student choices. What would have had to happen if those arguments had turned into a scrap? They didn't exactly get along by the time they died.
Bro! the ghost in the last movie! Ravenclaw's daughter who basically directed Tom to one of the objects he used as a horcrux and later hinted Harry to where it was hidden
I think Voldemort sent Nagini to scout for the prophecy because he can physically see through her eyes, in the same way he and Harry can look through each other. The Horcrux connection. Since prophecies can only be retrieved by the subjects of the prophecy, maybe Nagini could have actually retrieved it, since she possesses part of Voldemort's soul.
Oooh interesting idea. I forgot about that, it doesn’t seem super clear if the bad effects of picking up a prophecy that isn’t about you are innate to prophecies themselves, or just a protective thing the ministry of magic places on them..
at 2:38 you have a bit of a slip and say "that's why we'll probably never see another game of thrones book ever again", which... might be true, but probably not due to JKR.
@@VaultLore No yeah that's my bad, I just didn't understand. The late hour of my comment and my personal herbology lessons probably affected that a bit. My apologies.
there is a sibling relationship introduced in the later books that mirros Lily and Petunia, Regulus and Sirius. Sirius is abnormal in his family much like Lily but in Lily's case her parents seem to fully support her whereas Sirius has a very negative relationship with not only his brother but also his parents. We find out that Regulus made an incredible sacrifice to stop Voldemort just like Lily while Sirius and Petunia are cut off from the magial world. I could watch a full video on this honestly
There was a vampire storyline as Rowling was going to have a teacher that was a vampire, plus in the books in Honeydukes found lollipops she thought were blood pops not that it was specified, but scrapped the idea because of Snape and Lupin.
So many interesting concepts. I always liked the idea of one of the main trio dying but I didn't know anything about these dropped plots so I never knew JK really wanted to kill Ron. I always loved the idea of Harry Potter, Hogwarts and Magic in general, but was not so interested in the movies. I only read Prisoner of Azkaban but now I really want to read the rest.
I always believed that Dumbledore couldn’t see under the cloak, he could just see the traces of magic around it to know that it was there. From there he just assumes it’s Harry because it’s Harry’s cloak. Dumbledore said that all magic leaves traces, even if the are difficult to detect and I think the cloak’s traces must be very difficult but Dumbledore knows what to look for for given that he studied the cloak and had it in his possession for 10 years. As for why Moody can SEE Harry under the cloak…idfk
It’s been awhile since I read the books, but I could have sworn that the kids actually speculated that Snape might be a vampire. Which is where I think the rumor came from. The way the kids discuss him when they first meet him. I could definitely be wrong though. Lol
You’re not far off. I think one of the characters makes a comment that their next DatDA professors is going to be a vampire. It’s not about snape, even though he does teach that class later on!
I’m glad that Harry and hermoine didn’t hook up. It’s such a cliche trope when the main characters are opposite sexes. They always make then the love interest in the story. I’m happy and it was smart to deviate from such a worn out arch.
That Dumbledore is the only one who can sees through Harry’s cloak without any magical gadget shows simply how powerful he really was. I think that isn’t a plot hole.
@@VaultLore there's this one Harry Potter iceberg that includes a fanfiction that tries to explain the wizarding world with the scientific method , I didn't finish it but liked the concept , since it's so big and there not really any video discussing it in depth , I just thought you would have the profile to be the one to do it
Nearly headless Nick only refers to his beheading once. After Ron said something kinda insulting, he answers „You‘ve got the tackt of a blunt axe“. But I would have also skipped the song. It just doesn’t fit into a book for me..
I am glad vampires werent such a big thing in HP. She could have even left them out completely. For me, vampires always imply the existence of the christian religion which opens too many questions that wont be answered.
You could have Dumbledore come back from a created horcrux and have him under the control of a new enemy and bring back the OG kids to work with their kids in the new series to defeat the new evil and free Dumbledore from the control of said villain as a what if Just throwing that out there :)
Honestly the biggest cut plot is Dumbledore is gay, even cut out of the books and only after JK added it in a interview. Apparently she wanted to include it but each time she tried to add it into the story it took up to much space, and if you made it this far you probably knew this is fake. Jk just wanted brownie points and just made it up.
A huge missed opportunity was not including Muggles more in the story. They're literally just background morons the entire series. Imagine a redemption arc for Petunia, where she rolls up during the Battle of Hogwarts with a rifle and starts sniping Death Eaters. A bunch of close-minded purebloods wouldn't have known what the fuck was happening. Jacob Kowalski was one of the few things Fantastic Beasts did right. Muggles have extremely advanced technology, much of which is superior to magic. Having a few Muggle characters actually impact the story would have been awesome. Sadly, Rowling isn't a skilled enough writer to pull that off.
2:35 J.K Rowling wrote game of thrones? Why would her scrapping of ideas of which if they were scrapped how do you know about them if it was never published? But aside from that what does that have to do with game of thrones?
@@VaultLore I think you meant to say GRRM when you said JKR, only way it makes sense or you meant to say Harry Potter wouldn't get more books instead of game of thrones. I said slip of the tongue, I'm assuming you know the difference between the two.

Well done, good voice, almost full knowledge. Kann man nicht meckern.
Danke schön!
@@VaultLore as an translation tool I'd recommend "deepl" - it's pretty accurate and works for more than good enough for long texts. And better than google translate (but didn't use for that for text - because deepl was years ago already better)
@@VaultLore I would recommend "deepl" for translation of German text to English. Already a few years ago it worked better and more reliable than the version of the most used search engine. (German is my mother language btw)
Hope that helps out and keep up your great videos!
Another great video man! Awesome stuff!

Eh maybe, I think they still would have wanted to keep it out of voldemorts hands, right?
Not that the trap doors and puzzles really would have stopped him… 😂
@@VaultLore ; But Dumbledore's trick with the Mirror of Erised has stopped him and would've done so because that was the actual part of the puzzles that I was referring to.😉 We, should all know by now that everything that Dumbledore and Voldemort put Harry through in Harry's first year was for the purpose of his character growth taking root which also supposed to benefit for the character growth for Hermione and Ron, without all that, we would've barley hit a dead end in knowing the characters better for later stories, if additional obstacles didn't exist and the reveals about Harry's family would have been more confusing than just to put him at a crossroads by the events of year 5 when he does finally find out who his father used to be😅.🤝
Interview with a vampire and bram stokers Dracula had both come out around when jk was working on the early books and they were both big in the media cycle. Then there was also buffy the vampire slayer that was also a huge deal. Blade also hit around that time, from dusk til dawn. So there was definitely a bit of a vampire craze in media at the time
What you mentioned at 19:40 .. I'm the exact same way.. idk why, but I lose interest in it or lose focus instantly.

I’ll consider it! I don’t want it to be too distracting so I’ll have to work on it. Thanks for watching!
Instead of music, how about real life ambiance sounds of footsteps from your upstairs neighbor, and people chewing with their mouth open, dogs barking, and distant tornado sirens. @VaultVideosYT
Thought about general ambiance, maybe I’ll add ambient rain in the next one.

42:20 literally everything Trelawney predicted came true... That's the running joke.
Hermione Puckle Gun. The Puckle gun is a tripod-mounted, single-barreled flintlock weapon fitted with a manually operated revolving cylinder. Puckle advertised its main application as an anti-boarding gun for use on ships.
"Everyone going to see the movies, had likely already read the books"
Oh you sweet summer child
What are you talking about? Knights of Walpurgis goes hard. Plus it has a "nice" connection to the white guys in white pointy hats
Snape was already the redemtpion arc. Draco was the character we are wondering about how evil he is. Adding a clear redemption would have been cheesy
I wonder if any elements of the sorting hat ideation were revived for the goblet of fire.
Oh good question, could be
"Ford Anglia. Ang-lea? I don't know. I'm not British."
Neither is Ford 😂
at 2:38 you have a bit of a slip and say "that's why we'll probably never see another game of thrones book ever again", which... might be true, but probably not due to JKR.
Just meant that grrm edits his storylines into oblivion, hence probably never releasing winds of winter.
@@VaultLore No yeah that's my bad, I just didn't understand. The late hour of my comment and my personal herbology lessons probably affected that a bit.

there is a sibling relationship introduced in the later books that mirros Lily and Petunia, Regulus and Sirius.
I have only seen the movies. This makes me want to read the books.
Do it!
You should’ve done that a few years back.
Did you do it?
There was a vampire storyline as Rowling was going to have a teacher that was a vampire, plus in the books in Honeydukes found lollipops she thought were blood pops not that it was specified, but scrapped the idea because of Snape and Lupin.
I meant Hermione found the pops.
As for why Moody can SEE Harry under the cloak…idfk
lol ~~~magic~~~
Moody's fake eye was enchanted... thats why...
22:13 why is young Sheldon there?
What spell does Dumbledore use to see Harry while he is wearing the invisibility cloak?
A nonverbal casting of Homenum Revelio according to JKR.
I’m glad that Harry and hermoine didn’t hook up. It’s such a cliche trope when the main characters are opposite sexes. They always make then the love interest in the story. I’m happy and it was smart to deviate from such a worn out arch.
Fair point!
That Dumbledore is the only one who can sees through Harry’s cloak without any magical gadget shows simply how powerful he really was. I think that isn’t a plot hole.
I think you would make nice videos about Harry Potter methods of rationality
Can you elaborate? What is that?
@@VaultLore there's this one Harry Potter iceberg that includes a fanfiction that tries to explain the wizarding world with the scientific method , I didn't finish it but liked the concept , since it's so big and there not really any video discussing it in depth , I just thought you would have the profile to be the one to do it
Interesting, maybe!
I would like to know more about that too
Nearly headless Nick only refers to his beheading once. After Ron said something kinda insulting, he answers „You‘ve got the tackt of a blunt axe“. But I would have also skipped the song. It just doesn’t fit into a book for me..
Haha yeah idk my eyes just kind of glaze over when I get to those parts. Maybe that’s a me problem.
@@VaultLoreNo problem, dude! It wasn't really relevant to your point, it's just a funfact.
Yeah that’s a good one!
Ah yes, just like Evil Nindroid Sensei Wu

@@VaultLore that would be so interesting
Honestly the biggest cut plot is Dumbledore is gay, even cut out of the books and only after JK added it in a interview. Apparently she wanted to include it but each time she tried to add it into the story it took up to much space, and if you made it this far you probably knew this is fake.
Jk just wanted brownie points and just made it up.
😂
i definitely dont read songs in books either (unless its the hunger games)
Petunia had a type of redemption (or sympathy) via a deleted scene
31:00 I'm fairly sure that JKR is acquainted with genetics, she's in been in the news about her views on it. "did ya know"

It was a reference to GRRM scrapping and rewriting plot lines
@@VaultLore You didn't even mention him. I would have believed it was simply a slip of the tongue... but not this attempt at justifying a mistake.
