It’s so ironic to me that the closer Wilhelm gets to the thrown and the more he accepts his position as Crown Prince, the more the things about Simon that initially attracted Wille to him are now the things that are creating a divide between them. If you remember their very first conversation was Wille praising Simon for defending the poor against these rich kids and even taking shots at the royal family, specifically. You could see how much Wille admired him for it and shared his views when he was the spare prince but being forced directly into the line of succession has changed his outlook on things a lot to the point where he feels he has to literally and figuratively shush Simon.
I like how they bring in these new issues that make perfect sense, like class differences and the gay hate. These things weren't so much of an issue before. But they fit in very well to now explore as they are official and actually testing out how much of a good fit they are. Combined with the limited private time by the curfew and Simon being grounded and the phone time and all that, it makes it hard to actually talk these things out. Lets not forget they are young, teenagers, they should be all over each other and enjoy themselves and not dive into one deep talk to another. They just want to make it work and enjoy it.
Wille and Simon both have issues seeing across the class divide. Like, no, 'prince school ' may not be the same as working for money to afford stuff, but it is still work and it takes a toll on Wille, especially given his disdain for being crown prince. Simon doesn't seem to understand how it affects Wille. He's just seeing the privilege. Wille was just trying to get closer to Simon's friends. Trying to include them. There were issues given the classism at play with many of the richer students but he meant well.
Sure, but this is effecting both of them and they are both misunderstanding what the other is going through. Imagine hearing your lifelong friends shit on because they can't afford a trip overseas. I think that was the catalyst for that moment. It was absolutely unfair of Simon, but Wille got his own jab in as well. I am not putting this entirely on either one of them.
This is very interesting and I feel Wille's and Simon's different personality types come through clearly this season. So not only their different backgrounds and social issues, but how they relate to these based on their personality traits. I had wished that Simon would sometimes change his "glasses" and not only start from the class perspective and injustices when Wille shared his everyday life. Everyone has different situations, but let them have it without valuing it simply because it differs from one's own. Better to focus on what unites and what you see actually contributes to closer interpersonal relationships. Wille is a relationship person with a focus on the inner life of the soul, and focus on consensus in the talks. Simon, on the other hand, is the opposite. Simon likes to discuss and debate, and does not mind conflicts arising in substance. More confident in himself, and do not have the same need for approval from others.

I think its more about not wanting to be 'outed' like that? That he's been through this and be asked about it? To be looked at differently and probably also actively work through this drama of the initiation.

Wille’s parents and the court are not taking their relationship seriously either by not helping them deal with avoidable problems like giving Simon some social media training. Their relationship seems to be seen as a problem to be publicly contained while at the same time almost hoping that it will unravel by itself through their neglect. Great reaction!!! To me, August has my sympathy but not my forgiveness because he has to earn it back. I do agree Felice and Sara need to resolve the issue at hand and to figure out how their friendship has been an impact on each other. Wille and Simon do have their work cut out as they need to see how being a “royal couple” is gonna affect themselves and how it could be easy for both of them to lose themselves due to having different perceptions.
