Omar was in a popular swedish boy group and was in front of cameras from a really young age. That's probably why he's so comfortable. He's a natural performer and is definitely born to be in front of cameras! And yes i agree Edvin is really mature and wise, especially for his age! I love listening to him
The intimacy co-ordinator for young royals is quite incredible and describes the job the same way a stunt is co-ordinated. Sara Arrhusius did an incredible job and demonstrated how intimacy and chemistry can be created in their live interviews for fans.
Yes! Seeing her interview about Young Royals on RUclips is what initially led me to watch it. One of the main reasons the show is so popular is that the intimacy feels SO real and comfortable, which you simply cannot achieve if the actors don’t feel that they are in a safe space.
If the whole film industry had ICs like Sara, what wonderful magic scenes we would get while actors are so respected and ensured safety. Sara A.’s approach, prepping and choreography has a crucial role in the success of this series.
You should watch some of their scenes together to understand their on-screen chemistry and how the intimacy coordinator did an amazing job. I've never seen a couple look and feel so real.
I know this is not the main focus of the video but since intimacy coordinator was brought up I think that people tend to laugh when they hear about it but don’t realise how important they are for the safety and wellbeing of actors on set. During intimate scenes, an intimacy coordinator is always there to ensure that the actor is comfortable with what they are being asked to do and that proper precautions are put in place to achieve a safe space for the scenes to exist. Intimacy coordinators are so so important. Please look up Ita O’Brien especially, she is amazing!!❤️
YESSS! I was coming here to comment basically the same thing, so I’m so glad you did. Intimacy coordinators play such an important role in advocating for the safety and comfort of the actors involved!
_Nicely projected._ But the raw truth of the matter is this: intimacy coordinators are there to avoid lawsuits by either party --- between themselves and between that actor and the production company (which works both ways). YES, they can make it more comfortable for intimate scenes (that's the _secondary reason_ they're hired). In situations like this one, actors are hired *only after they have signed agreements [contracts] to be intimate with co-actor(s) and understand the ramifications of such scenes together to the public.* If there are any serious problems with intimacy, they "iron them out" before they are even hired and *they know they will be intimate (including nudity) with a co-star.* That's why they get paid more than the others. I could go into this more deeply, but that's the primary jist of it.
@@penboyasgod6103 Yes. They have multiple purposes. To get proper consent predicated on complete and honest information is the first and primary job. But they do more than that. They also make scenes hotter with the choreography of a scene. The end result is a legal, safer, and sexier scene.
Edvin was 18 here. He’s so mature for his age, while his curiosity for what life can bring him never gets any less. Both are used to the camera and they know it’s how they can touch people. Which they do! Lisa and Rojda shared that when they saw these two together for the first time (and they hadn’t met before), they cried for the beautiful chemistry. So grateful they enabled Omar and Edvin to share their energy with the world. Thanks for this analysis!
Just to add that Edvin is highly intelligent. He’s studied Behavioural Science in college. His command of the English Language is absolutely top notch, so much so that he could easily teach English anywhere in the world. Oh yes, and he has been acting since the age of 6.
In the interview with Josh Smith, Edvin said that he did study science behaviour and how its helped him, if you haven't seen it please check it out, it's called In the Reign of your life with Josh Smith it's Edvins best explanation of Wilhelm and Edvins experience, hope this helps 😊
@@maddalenaallegretta9885 thanks i stand corrected :) i actually remembered the över bordet interview where they were talking abt school and thought behavioral science was for college. went back to check and he was in social studies studying behavioral science in high school.
are you joking? edvin's english isn't good enough to teach anyone. he didn't even do english interviews until yr. meanwhile omar is trilingual and has been speaking 3 languages in interviews on camera since he was a little kid. and edvin didn't attend college; he barely passed high school.
YES, they are both very comfortable in front of the camera. Omar has appeared on national television since he was 12 years old, he participated in talent shows. in 2013 started a musical career with his band and is active as a singer until now and finally an actor. Edvin has been an actor since he was 6 years old. and is active as an actor since then.
You hit the nail on the head. Omar is a natural charmer and Edvin is way beyond his years. You literally couldn't find a better pairing for there chemistry ❤
Ahhh I’m so glad you reacted to them! Btw if you’ve never heard of an intimacy coordinator, it is a rather new concept in the entertainment industry and one of the reasons it exists is to protect performers from being taken advantage of by having them perform vulnerable scenes without being properly taken care of, or being pressured to do things they aren’t comfortable with. An intimacy coordinator helps to create a safe and comfortable environment. A big thing that has made Young Royals so successful is that the intimacy scenes feel so REAL and so comfortable between these two actors, which can only be achieved in a safe environment. The coach helped them to develop their intimate relationship on screen which clearly has made them intimate friends off screen. It’s really beautiful.
I think analysing the shadow and bone cast would be so interesting! Especially the crows, there’s loads of behind the scenes/cast interviews to watch with them, too!
yay i love young royals sm and omar and edvin are just the loveliest, sweetest and talented people i swear💕 it’s really nice to see that they are rlly close friends because i feel like that’s a key component to why they manage to have the amazing chemistry they have on screen!
It was interesting seeing your reaction! I think in other interactions between them, they are a LOT more carefree and silly and they have fun together. Here, Edvin probably felt the pressure (that he’s talked about in other interviews) of representing LGBTQ+ issues in the right way and he’s been an actor since the age of 5 so this is his career and he takes that seriously. Other things, I feel like he is more light-hearted with. I definitely think he’s super smart and empathetic and Omar is a lot more outgoing and carefree and together they bring out the best in each other.
Edvin is 20 and omar is 24… both of them have been in front of the camera since they were kids (Edvin for acting and Omar for singing and dancing and now also acting) so yes, they are both comfortable and professional in front of the camera... And yeah these two have a strong bond and a beautiful relationship!! Their interviews are very funny and good! I suggest you watch them and get to know more about these two and their personalities. And also, young royals is a veeery good series! Interesting and different topic and well made! Very worthy!
Thanks Max, loved your reaction as always! Also, I wanted to add that, as a swedish speaker, something I've personally picked up on is particularly how well spoken Edvin is. It might partly be because he spends a lot of time thinking about the roles he portrayes, but this sort of profoundity he has is actually quite unusual for people his age in Sweden (myself included). He is able to use his vocabulary in a very proper and expressive way, which I think also adds to his maturity. I'm always fascinated with the way he speaks.
Me too!! I am absolutely fascinated by him! I have the same feeling from him speaking English, so I wouldn't have expected less from him talking in his native language. (I am actively learning Swedish now so I hope one day soon I'll be able to listen to him talk without the Eng subs😂)
they're adorbale. neither of them have a problem being in front of the camera since omar was a singer since very young like 13-14 and edvin started acting since he was 5 years old. they compliment each other very well. edvin is very intellectual and sweet and omar just has his own charm. i think they once said it as well, they complete each other. like its omar's first acting role and so edvin gave him a lot of advice related to that and when it comes to kind of the blow up success that young royals had omar has experience in that with his band and so he helped with that.
my babies. this was fun to watch. and you were spot on in the different communication styles they both have. their chemistry is also insane. friends best
The intimacy coordinator does a simmilar job for intimacy scenes like a stunt coordinator does for action scenes. The intimacy coordinator choreographs and coordinates intimacy scenes to make them look real and make the actors feel safe. They are specifically educated for this.
You capture them so good. It's amazing. Do more Young Royals reactions. This was at the beginning, I think it would be very interesting to see you react to them interacting now, when they've known each other for a lot more time.
You really nailed it (as I've noticed in your other reactions, too). Bravo! I found this interview a few days ago and, like you, it was literally the first time I'd seen them outside the show. The very first thing that struck me was Edvin's eye contact. He just stays locked on Omar the whole time. That was the first thing I noticed, along with his easy, almost mischievous smile. I watched hours of interviews after this one. Their English is impeccable, too, and just as charming and endearing.
How interesting.. I think alot of what your picking up is cultural.. As others have said, Omar has been a pop star since he was 15, and has done interviews the whole way along, filmed on stage live etc.. Edvin has been an actor for longer and also done many interveiws but I guess more theoretical about his craft and insight into acting itself, where as omar appeals to more common everyday people from his training talking to teenagers In fact, Edvin is super light hearted, and this interview is the most shy and quiet and considered Ive seen in all of the interviews. But yes, he is known for his maturity. Looking directly in the eyes is a cultural habit, where as omar probably feels more familiar to you with his american influence from his latin roots Id be so curius what you make of the intimacy coordinator interview, or the actual show.. I think its fantastic how the excercises and skills they bring have resulted in the trust we see both in screen and now as co actors, and friends.
I would LOVE to see you react to the video of Edvin trying Venezuelan foods Omar grew up with!! It's in English so it might be easier to comprehend. It's definitely one of my favorite videos of them!!! English is Edvins second language, and Omars third. I love seeing how they communicate in a language they aren't as comfortable in.
One thing you need to understand about Edvin, is he is intellectual. He took a Psychology class _in high school_ and now appears to be intensely interested that application.
To understand YR and Edvin watch In the Reign of your life with Josh Smith he is talking to Edvin (he is 20 now). You will learn a lot about Edvin his maturity and sensibility, he speaks English (they all do) and please react, I would love to hear your opinion 🙏
OMG!!! Thank you so much for reacting to them. I enjoy your reactions to every single video, but when you react to people that I know and love it's even better. I'd love to see you reacting to more videos of Omar and Edvin! Maybe the next one should be when they are on the Jimmy Fallon show or when they are on the QX Gala.😊
As a swede this was so fun to look at, and amazing how much you can analyze from the interview even though, im guessing, the language is foreign for you!
It's not uncommon these days to have an intimacy coordinator. They had one in Heartstopper. The point is to not have the actors do anything that might make the other person uncomfortable, but much like a stunt coordinator who work on action scenes, an intimacy coordinator choreographs kissing scenes so it looks good on camera, but doesn't cross unnecessary boundaries if an actor isn't comfortable. It may seem like it's a weird job, but the fact is, movies/tv have a huge crew. New actors have felt it's weird to do roles in front of so many different people (directors, camera folks, lighting, makeup, etc) so an intimacy coordinator is just a new role on top of many in a scene.
It hadn’t hit me until recently when I watched an edit someone made of Wooyoung (Ateez) to an Omar song (that Omar actually shared). And I realized how many things they have in common and why frankly I’m obsessed with both. It was interesting to see Omar described similar to Woo - charming, comfortable, etc. I’m curious about whether others see the parallels.
AHH so happy you finally reacted to them! i'd recommend watching "Edvin Ryding & Omar Rudberg Full TikTok Live Stream [English subtitles available]" its a 37min long video 😬 but if it's too long you can start watching from minute 12:00 - 35:42!! i think their dynamic and how comfortable they are around each other shows really well in it :)
loved this reaction of young royals! would love to know ur opinions on the dynamics of the shadow and bone cast! everyone in the cast is so lovely and sweet and soo talented, they r all super close too!! u can sense through the screen how much they all love each other, they always say they r like one big found family and it is so true
Intimacy coordinators actually don't only choreograph intimacy scenes, but they make safe environment for actors to work in. Because it is a work with many people in the room, many shots from different directions and it does require professional approach. So the IC runs preparation sessions with the actors, gives them exercises to build trust, communicate with each other what they are comfortable doing and what are the boundaries, discuss consent, so that in the real scene they could improvise to deliver some emotions better, but without making their partner uncomfortable.
omg I love this!! you should do more with them- one of my favorites is the "taste buds" video they did on the still watching Netflix channel a few months ago. I enjoyed their communication in it a lot. :)
I really recommend you watch/listen Edvin’s Summer Talk I don’t know how suitable it’d be for a reaction or commentary video but I found it very moving, and very thought provoking It’s kind of inexplicably vulnerable and I think you would really, really appreciate it 💜
I work in film and the reason there’s the (relatively new) job of intimacy coordinator/coach is because of all the you know what cases. It’s for protection, so not very funny at all, although I agree the first time I heard the job title it sounded hilarious 😆
I think Omar is a bit shy, that is why he smile to get a reaction. Edvin is very extrovert, intense, and also funny. You have to watch him in interviews in sweden...And they are not together, they are just friends, so there is nothing more than a friendship, but for americans maybe is difficult to understand tahn in other countries male friends behave like that, more close to each other
'people that conciously smile, a lot of those people want others to feel charmed', certainly worked on me! Great reaction and analysis as always Max! Would love for you to check out another twenty one pilots interview and dive a bit deeper into josh and tyler's very different communication styles cos i think they complement each other really well

Yes, Edvin does come off more intense, he seems to be a bit deeper than we might have thought and he super articulate. It makes you curious and interested in hearing more. That both make you smile when you watch and listen. Omar is way more comfortable with Edvin there. I have seen him in other interviews without Edvin and a few with Edvin where he isn’t so relaxed, fidgety, and he has trouble conversing without the uh uh uhs. I think he needs more media training for when he is on his own but alongside Edvin the balance impeccably.
I truly love your reactions, I've watched your content for quite a while now and I really enjoy it. Whether its onedireciton, kpop, sidemen, sturniolo triplets etc, I really apprechiate it! I would love to see your reaction to two thai actors named First and Khaotung, they are a quite famous "couple", in a recent series they acted together as a couple and from there got their huge fame. They are really known for their wholesome relationship with eacother and with their fandom. The video I would recommend is their video with "Candy Channel", in the beggining they mostly just play a game and talk a little, and later in the video they have an interview and answer some questions. I would really enjoy seeing what you think aout their communication:))
I felt a little embarrassed if I’m honest at what Omar came out with, but felt very comfortable with Edvin’s answers. I just felt that Edvin was ‘propping up’ Omar a little. It’s obvious from the Fallon interview that Edvin is the intellectual one and I’m sorry to say that Omar isn’t.
Max, I hope you’ve looked into what an intimacy coordinator does and brings to a set and the performances. It’s all about communication. It’s about communication with the director and the actors, and how to best communicate that to an audience. Most people’s intimate relations from kissing to any kind of sex wouldn’t look right on camera. And obviously intimacy on camera is a simulation. So it helps to have that objective view to be able to make sure the intent is captured while keeping the actors safe and within their comfort zones. It’s like a stunt where everything is planned out to get the effect desired.
At the beginning, my thought is that Omar had a bit of a hard time staying serious for the deep talk (he said before that he tends to laugh when filming) and I think Edvin was grounding him by staying serious and focused. At least that is what I gathered from those first seconds of their interaction🥰😇
This one is also special ruclips.net/video/v6YEc5Xh-OY/видео.html Context: Omar was born in Venezuela before moving to Sweden, so this is him and Edvin eating Venezuelan Christmas meals

Thank you for this video Max 😁 More content with them pls !
Should definitely check out any clips from över bordet, they’re really good interviews
Yes, especially the one with Edvin on his own being interviewed on the podcast. One of my favourite all-time podcasts if I’m honest!
loved this reaction of young royals! would love to know ur opinions on the dynamics of the shadow and bone cast! everyone in the cast is so lovely and sweet and soo talented, they r all super close too!! u can sense through the screen how much they all love each other, they always say they r like one big found family and it is so true
OMG! I love them both and I love your video! Greetings from Poland.
Omg omg Young Royals wuttt🤍🤍
you literally got it spot on :)
They´re so nice for me really, their vibes between them are so beautiful and they really care to each other
Omg yay you did Edvin and Omar!!!🫶
omg I love this!! you should do more with them- one of my favorites is the "taste buds" video they did on the still watching Netflix channel a few months ago. I enjoyed their communication in it a lot. :)
would love for you to check out more of their interviews! also of the cast of shadow and bone specially of the crows !!
Please do more!!!!
i need part 2 pleaaaasee
Also hehe very excited about this video ofc :D
OMG LOOK WHAT IS HERE!!!!😭✨
I really recommend you watch/listen Edvin’s Summer Talk
I don’t know how suitable it’d be for a reaction or commentary video but I found it very moving, and very thought provoking
It’s kind of inexplicably vulnerable and I think you would really, really appreciate it 💜
I love that some communicative things you pointed out are just things swedes do by reflex
I work in film and the reason there’s the (relatively new) job of intimacy coordinator/coach is because of all the you know what cases. It’s for protection, so not very funny at all, although I agree the first time I heard the job title it sounded hilarious 😆
Oh my god... I love this❤️❤️❤️more Edvin and Omar content please ❤️❤️❤️
PLEASE DO MORE EDVIN AND OMAR VIDEOS
Thank you Max. Loved this response. You have won a new subscriber here.
glad you watched these two!!!
I think Omar is a bit shy, that is why he smile to get a reaction. Edvin is very extrovert, intense, and also funny. You have to watch him in interviews in sweden...And they are not together, they are just friends, so there is nothing more than a friendship, but for americans maybe is difficult to understand tahn in other countries male friends behave like that, more close to each other
intimacy coordinators are the most imptortant people in the entertainment industry
Love this sm, please more of YoungRoyals
Edvin's intensive is so cute 🥺
You should take a look at their English interviews and see if anything changes with the language barrier!
OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES LY MAX
the video where they eat Venezuelan arepas and hallacas on the Netflix's Still Watching channel is really good.
I love these twooo
'people that conciously smile, a lot of those people want others to feel charmed', certainly worked on me! Great reaction and analysis as always Max! Would love for you to check out another twenty one pilots interview and dive a bit deeper into josh and tyler's very different communication styles cos i think they complement each other really well
You should see the interview where Omar said he feels safe with Edvin❤
Yes, that’s always puzzled me a bit. What does he mean ‘feeling safe’? Why shouldn’t he feel safe? Safe from what exactly?
@@showmoke like he feels safe and comfortable doing the intimate scenes with Edvin. its not easy being behind a camera and being in your most vulnerable state for millions of people to see and judge.
@@showmokeHe was not even an actor before YR, so it's not easy at all make sex scenes with so naturally and with so much credibility (without shame etc)! So, yes, Edvin 100% feel him save.
P.S. Sorry for my bad english.
Moreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!
I’m not used to hearing my own language on RUclips channels like this ahah, but loved this analysis !
do more of them ❤
Can you please do more omar & edvin reactions? 🥺 I really loved this one ❤
I have always felt that omar is similar to jimin in a way
ur right they’re both kind of private in way (?) soft spoken too
@@jimimphile and they’re the complete opposite on stage!
I really appreciate your analysis of both! I would like you to provide more analysis of both 😊
Yes, Edvin does come off more intense, he seems to be a bit deeper than we might have thought and he super articulate.
Love Omar
It's all because they are friends best😂❤️
I would love to see your take on their Jimmy Fallon interview, after two years of friendship. Super interesting video!
I felt a little embarrassed if I’m honest at what Omar came out with, but felt very comfortable with Edvin’s answers. I just felt that Edvin was ‘propping up’ Omar a little. It’s obvious from the Fallon interview that Edvin is the intellectual one and I’m sorry to say that Omar isn’t.
thanks for reacting them!
At least that is what I gathered from those first seconds of their interaction🥰😇
pls do more young royals!
I LOVE THEM! ❤❤❤
This one is also special ruclips.net/video/v6YEc5Xh-OY/видео.html Context: Omar was born in Venezuela before moving to Sweden, so this is him and Edvin eating Venezuelan Christmas meals
more!
Omar is 5 years older than Edvin, but he is really mature!
