Listen to your tyres when you turn. This game has understeer if you turn too much, it's obvious in the left-right S and in the final corner, you can hear the front tyres screeching.
this game is prob 100 times harder than it looks
yeah its a weird one - handing can be very twitchy and the curbs are murderous, and the ai are really weird speed wise (theyll be ridiculously fast through one complex and hilariously slow through the next), but its still my favourite f1 game
also, the ps3 controller makes everything harder lmao, even compared to other controllers - haptics are dreadful, triggers are finnicky, etc
The AI were super aggressive and OP at this track.
its not that its hard, its that its super unpredictable, and you have to avoid curbs as much as possible and try and learn the AI. its an amazing game, but being from that time, its going to have its flaws
As someone who's oldest F1 game played before this was F1 2017 I went back earlier this year and tried this on RCPS3 and it's super fucking hard. The controls are super twitchy and there's no way to edit them in the settings at all, or even to change button settings to change what buttons do what, and of course no flashbacks. Finding any kind of useful setups was basically a pointless endeavor despite searching forever online. Certain tracks I just kept spinning at certain spots because of the setup I assume but I didn't know how to mitigate it. It was neat but ultimately the modern games are more enjoyable to play. I suppose if I had grown up enjoying this era I could enjoy it more but I only got into F1 in the past few years due to getting one of the Codies games for free from a friend.
@@fxckrio I always remember if you clipped the grass in a breaking zone you’d loose the rear like in real life, something still not in the current games sadly. That game was so ahead of it’s time
Another thing of note, PS4 and PS5 controllers are natively supported on PS3 and they both work with F1CE. I recommend using one of those two
The Logitech G29/920/923 is also compatible with F1CE.
Matt, AI are considerably better to race with on Hard difficulty. They are too hesitant on medium. I’d recommend a Hard difficulty career mode. You can get any of the 3 teams with a trial around magny cours. The other 2 tracks are indeed difficult. For the benefit of the series would genuinely consider a move to hard difficulty before you’re in too deep!

I love listening to Martin Brundle. It would be beyond great if Codemasters could get him into one of their games.
Not sure why he isn't added considering they've got some of the other names. He may just not be interested in commentary for the games which is fair enough really. I'd rather him than Crofty any day of the week that's for sure!

@@Kieran_OPC Yes, I agree with you about Brundle. I didn't know Murray Walker commented on an F1 game! I'll have to look for a video of that. It makes me wish we could have an AI version of Walker and James Hunt on an F1 game just to relive their 80s/90s commentary, which was pure gold - and sarcasm, in Hunt's case!

just discovered the channel with this series, i hope you go on to complete all 5 seasons, because it's a really fun game, despite it being very finnicky to get the hang of it, also you can change the preset configuration of the Brakes/Traction Control on the game settings iirc, idk if you already have done that

this game has better punishment for curbs then current games from codemaster... because man the cars just ignoring that by those pro sim drivers is kinda insane and just feels so off.

You're chomping those kerbs like pacman, maybe try shoring up your braking a bit and get a smoother entry into some of the turns. Slow in, fast out.

This game is literally older than me
you should stay clear of the grass, and some of the kerbs, because they usually will spin out the car, especially if you don't have traction control on. Even with TC on, you shouldn't stay for too long on the kerbs.
Also, each car drives different, so try coasting in some corners more than you usually do to prevent spinning out, like in Malaysia
The ai are super op at some of the tracks. This is one of them lol

You are going to suffer with this game. This game is unforgivable, no flashbacks so 1 mistake and you are done. And if you dont perform you can get demoted to test driver. That is savage 🥲
