Yes! Another straight natural. We need more of you on RUclips. We were running out of options here. Your hair is long enough for me. I'm a lazy straight natural as well. I only use deep conditioners that work in 5 minutes or less. I actually have to wash twice a week though because I have a problematic scalp. I use my Revair each time to stretch and twist it up and only flat iron 1x/month. I prefer twists on stretched hair and I don't have anymore single strand knots. Thanks for sharing!
question! So you do twist outs on your blow-dried hair most of the month, and then only rock it flat ironed one a month? Or do you mean you wear it blow dried in twists, and don't unravel the twists until your next wash?
Anything I struggle with and find a solution, I told God I would share it. This is just my journey. I am not an expert in hair, I am just sharing what worked for me. Working with a professional is always recommended( I worked with a natural hair stylist) when learning how to use heat with your hair. To prevent damage. Also, I show a picture of my 4C hair at 7:14 timestamp Thanks so much for watching! ♥️
Finally! A RUclips hair video from someone in the Chicago area! My hair has been natural for over 30 years, with 7 years of long beautiful locs that I cut off about 20 years ago. I’m lazy with my hair, tired of years of just washing and wearing in a bun, and want to wear it straight for a while in a softly curled bob cut. And hopefully that’ll help me grow my hair evenly (all one length) and longer. Thank you for sharing your hairstylist’s link.
The Mane Choice products have also been INSTRUMENTAL in my straight hair natural success. With monthly silk presses I've been finally able to get past BSL. No fairy knots to ruin my life lol
I’ve decided to become a straight hair / blowout natural now. I’ve noticed with my curly hair my hair kept breaking even though I weren’t applying heat etc. But now I’ve not been experiencing that as much.
Great video and beautiful hair! Using heat really helps some people to retain length on natural, its worked for me in the past & its definitely something I'm looking to head back in to.
Same I learned after a year that no heat styling leaves my hair dry and brittle no matter if I use three products or what feels like thirty three. With heat styling, I use less products and my hair actually does better than it ever did with no heat. Who knew.
Slowly thinking of becoming a straight natural. Seems like my hair would retain length when it was straight both when I was relaxed and natural. I guess it’s because the hair isn’t breaking off so much from trying to detangle and curling up on itself, causing us to have to rip through our hair.
Oh my! I thought this was exclusive to me! I have decided to do no wash n gos. The tangle mess is insane!! I have a crying song in the shower every time I’m detangling.
Thank you for sharing. I’ve become a straight hair natural and I love it, I’m retaining more length than I ever have and I enjoy watching videos of other straight hair naturals experiences
Thank you so much for sharing! I’m getting ready to start my straight natural hair journey. I’ve been natural for sometime with major set backs but I’m so tired of the knotted ends that turns into bad ends. It really stunts my growth. Thanks again!
Yes please, video on your wig routine and wash day💕A video of the blow dry straightening process would be great as well!! You have beautiful hair and this video was very comprehensive. Looking forward to to growing with you in 2022 👍🏽
Im on a straight natural hair journey now too I cant with the tangling knotting everyday styling then wash n gos tore my hair up im done 😂 I retain length much better.
Beautiful hair can you do a wash day video on how you blow dry and straighten your hair. I'm also 4c but I'm trying to get away from relaxers but I want to wear my hair straight
Amazing video and pretty informative! Will be trying this method out because I’ve had the same issue with non heat natural hair growing for years 😭 much love ❤️
I’m going to be with you girl! Big lazy vibes over here lol. I didn’t straighten my hair often to get to bra strap length but I believe to maintain this and go further, it’s going to be blow dry mostly and straighten for now on. My ends are kinky kinky so the fairy knots are ridiculous, stunting my growth. I have a baby on the way and a corporate job. Thank you for the video to have someone to relate to and get tips from 😃
No problem! So, I don’t work out regularly but when I do I usually only worry about the edges. So, I’ll wear either a scarf around my edges or some type of workout headband.
@@thecurlylana4351 hmm if you feel your hair needs to then yes! But I would limit to still using the flat iron once a month. So I would just blow dry. When I need to wash my hair more than once a month, I have styles I know I can rock with blow dried hair.
I’m a straight natural but sometimes I wear natural hair braids but my issue is my ENDSSSSSS they keep splitting I cut my ends like every month or 2 months it’s bad I wash my hair every month and half -2 months. I hate it for me I’m trying to figure something out
Yes! Not everyday because I don’t want to weigh my hair down with product or create buildup in my hair. But I will definitely refresh once a week with my light moisturizer and dry oil. When it’s straight it usually doesn’t dry out easily.
Hmmm, it definitely varies based on what style I am doing to my hair. If I’m wearing a wig, I’ll leave my hair in braids, then comb through and rebraid once or every other week. If I leave my hair out, it depends on the style I’m doing but maybe once a week..
That is something I had talked to my hair stylist about and she said once your hair is heat trained that will help a lot with humidity. It won’t reverse as fast and that has been the case for me. But I’m still very cautious and will sometimes just throw on a wig if I feel the weather isn’t great.
heyyy i just discovered you!!!I love your personality and you hair is so beautiful❤️❤️I have a recommendation for your heat protectant. The garnier is personally not my favorite,i think you could try something more high end for your lovely hair:)Like the TRESemme heat protectant. It doesn’t contain any alcohol to dry you hair!!
I'll be honest it works better when we blow dry then flat iron versus air drying. A blow dryer will rarely cause heat damage because they go up to like 180 degrees but a flat iron goes up to 450. Once you set the hydrogen bonds in the hair with a blow dryer you will get a great silk press versus air drying with a braid out. You'll get less heat damage because most of the work is done with a blow dryer., It's more healthier for your hair to blow dry it too because it is in it's weakest state when wet and it isn't good to sleep in wet hair or let it stay wet for so long (hydral fatigue) which is VERY common among naturals who air dry because we were taught to be afraid of any kind of heat. But heat is our friend. The trick it to properly blow dry once the section is dry just stop. Most people just keep blow drying dried hair and that can cause damage and breakage. Once the section is warm it's completely dry.
Nooo this ain’t the way, sis. Just use the heat. I have a revair so even when I blow out my hair, it’s using a third of the heat that a blowdryer does but it’s getting smooth so I can flat iron it in ONE pass.
