Your explanations are far better in helping to visualise processes than most YT channels that only repeat the technical basics of "X happens, weight goes forward" that we already know. Sometimes it is metaphors and visualising terms that help people visualise what is happening while they are driving.

Thanks man, too kind - I do aim to keep things away from getting too technical, I try to scratch that 'A-ha' nerve in the brain through other ways

    • @philipkeeler9997

Yep! the visual of hanging the rear inside 'by it's 'last shred of fingernail'
illustrates the 'edge' to aim for and the need for calmness of executinon.
But who TF, other than the Great Walenda (sic?) wouldn't pucker hangin over Niagara Falls by their fingernails? Answer....
      Aliens!
Something to aim for and work at.
Thanks. This stuff is gold. Just subbed.
      Definately an 'A-Hah!

this video is amazing. I’ve subconsciously felt everything you have mentioned here, but I’ve never visualized it like this and I think it will help a ton. your analogy of the rear inside tire holding on by a pinky fingernail is brilliant, push the car but not so hard that that fingernail can’t hold on!

Can you make a video explaining why it looks like people are fighting their wheel or when turning they keep moving their wheel over and over again in the direction theyre turning instead of it being a smooth movement?

  • @weswheel4834

Thanks Danny. Just come back to iracing and I'd been practicing around Lime Rock. In the Skippy I felt reasonably comfortable with what I was doing. Sometimes I'd spin, but usually I'd have an idea why. I'd been trying to drive the Street Stock around Lime Rock and despite driving really slowly, I still kept spinning off in the corners. I think you've filled in the blanks for me. I was fairly comfortable with front/back weight transfer but hadn't been thinking about left/right. Thanks :)

@@dannyleeracing Question: When you stiffen an ARB on the front/rear does it "add" grip to the front/rear?
I also wanted to suggest that in a future video in order to explain the inside rear tire having less grip, you could perhaps refer to karting, where the inside wheel lifts on tight corners (as there is no suspension it shows weight shifting purely), and how it is used to rotate the kart.

Why I keep spinning?? I'm barely touching the gas pedal in the exit of the curves. It takes just a tiny amount of throttle and a small turn on the wheel to make the car go crazy and spin ruining my entire lap.
    Great video btw

  • @johnf6545

Corner exit for me, can't keep the rear under control as I throttle up at times, very twitchey, def slows me down trying to maintain control as no confidence in the rear
