    I love road tripping to cool trails like that. All the routine local rides are to be prepared to go on those adventure rides. Your video quality is coming through great on RUclips these days, watched this on the tv and it looked great clear and no compression artifact.

    Take Ridge Trail 157 to Mud Springs next time. Not better or more fun than Tibblefork. Just a different kind of fun.

    So cool. Would you mind explaining shock tuning. Curious what you look for when setting sag, rebound, low speed compression, etc. I’ve seen a few times where you notice the need for adjustment right away.

    • @mtbyumyum
      @mtbyumyum  5 лет назад

      First rule for me setting up the bike is balance. Rule number 2, (after sag is set) set rebound as fast as possible without getting bucked around. Compression is next trying to find grip and support. I can usually get that right away and make small rebound adjustments from there.... this can all typically be done in my yard at my house. On my personal bikes that I own, I spend more time on trail with a small section of trail with variety that is easily repeatable.

    Did you guys shuttle this or did you climb? Trying to figure it out via Trailforks, but it doesn’t, look like a loop. Looks like a ton of fun. What was your route, if you don’t mind me asking?

    • @toddneumarker7525
      @toddneumarker7525 5 лет назад

      I was driving, and it was a shuttle, which is pretty typical for that ride. Your choices for riding it the whole way are limited. But I have done the grind up Mill Canyon, after the first steep section it actually gets to be a nice and easy climb through thick green forest with easy switchbacks. But once you get to Ridge 157 the link over to Tibble is a difficult trail, but I still like it. If I don't have a shuttle, I always ride it that way. The Trailforks map is accurate, I know, cause I am a developer for Trailforks and verified all the data there.

    I had narrowed my new bike list down to the trail 429. And the new ripley. For slow tight rocky and roots trails that are up and down. Narrow and windy in western pa which one would you pick.
    Thanks for the great videos

    • @mtbyumyum
      @mtbyumyum  5 лет назад

      both excellent bikes. If you're a heavier guy, go with the T429... it's will feel more solid to you

    I’m gonna be in SLC in late October scouting it out before we move in January - we own a condo in Solitude but those are the only trails in the area I’ve ridden. Got any recommendations for must do trails in the area, unless you’d rather show a one legged MTBer around. 😜

    The knocking noise .... is it chain slap or the DPX2? I’m trying to narrow the same noise on my Instinct and getting frustrated with the it. Let me know if you found a solution. Thanks
