Vintage modified guitars must be more sought after than the classical vibe, been searching for VM and its rather difficult, nice vid Rob! Hope quarantine is not making you lose your mind yet haha
IMHO Neck: Warm Lead In Phase: arpeggios Out Phase: strumming (due to less volume) Bridge: Lead that cut through the mix. Since I think I'll use as a 3 way slide I need to freeze a slide. So the options are: Neck, In phase, out phase OR Bridge, In phase, out phase. I think this is the best way to use the complicated mustang switching system.
@@theguitarmanifesto Yeah cool 👌 I found out this morning after breaking my G string (ooooer!) that my 60th anniversary Strat has locking tuners . Branded Fender but they appear to be Gotoh DL91 .
@@theguitarmanifesto Yeah a pleasant surprise as I had just never encountered locking tuners without the wheel on the back , which I'm not a fan of aesthetically. ✌️
Awesome content man! Really interesting stuff! That Robster logo on your headstock looks so cool man! And do you think a White colour pick guard or any other colour (which will match the stripes) will look good on this?
Thanks for the great video. I had a question: I was given a used Squier mustang as a gift recently. I noticed that when the picks are In phase there is absolutely zero noise in the amp, while for all other configurations there is some noise that I can hear when not playing. Does this make sense or do I have a problem? The noise is not too much and is heard on high volume, but still it is not absolute zero. Thanks a lot!
I noticed that the switches on your guitar seem much more easier to move than on my 60s Classic Vibe Mustang, which are way too stiff comparatively. Yours seem to just "Glide" effortlessly into place where mine require a great (ridiculous) effort to change - making fast pickup switching while playing very difficult to do. Do you have/know of/can make a video that shows us how to effectively loosen up/lubricate these switches so as to make them more effective ? Thank You & for this great video.
Great demonstration of the pickup switches on the Fender Mustang. The Fender Mustang was my first electric guitar in 1968, along with a Fender Vibro Champ amp. The Mustang switches offered out of phase pickup sounds early on.
The Guitar Manifesto nice explorer type. Sold mine on as not a big fan of Floyd’s. I’m hoping to trade my GoPro for a Peavey raptor with a burstbucker in the bridge, after the lockdown, very much the type of guitar you feature a lot. Should be great for some Kurt tones hopefully.
I got my first Mustsng today and I only like it on the neck pickup and the tone turned way down. It's definitely not a Strat or a humbcker filled Jaguar like I'm use to but that's OK. I've wanted one for over 25 years.
Doing some mods to a strat copy I've got, thinking about putting some mustang switches in to replace the 5-way switch. Got a tele neck pickup in the neck and a humbucker in the middle, will the switches and phasing still work for those? Sorry if this is a dumb question, but this is my first big mod project and I'm wanting as much tone out of it as possible haha.
@@bora-xo4qd the mustang switches were way too challenging logistically to add 3, not good at wiring lmao. Did the tele neck pickup and middle humbucker though, love the humbucker in the middle (although O used one from an Epiphone so its a little muddy), but didn't gel too much with the tele neck so went for a stacked single coil instead. Rn in the bridge position is a very microphonic rail humbucker that's in desperate need of replacing, but rn I don't have the time to change it so that strat's been relegated to my backup guitar. Thanks for asking!

I have a Squier classic vibe 60's mustang and I love it more every day... It's brilliant
Matija Ugarković that is a nice Mustang. Classic Vibes are great guitars.
They're awesome guitars 🎸👌
hey ! i'd like to buy one for myself, it would be my first guitar; would u say. the squier Cv mustang is versatile enough ?

Love the new paint job bruv, I've been binging you're channel lately
Thanks it's a great combo, glad the videos are getting you through the lockdown 😷🤘🎸
Don't know why, but the sound of Jaguar and Mustang switches being slide is so ASMR to me
Thank you. I never knew how these switches worked before seeing your video. Much appreciated.

The Vintage modified got discontinued Classic vibe took over the line.
Thanks yes staying healthy just bored as heck, stay safe bro 🎸🤘
Thank you so much for this, I was given this guitar and had no idea what these switches did!!
Awesome they're great guitars with some cool sounds, enjoy 💯🎸
Nice little song at the end. Sounded excellent!
IMHO
Neck: Warm Lead
In Phase: arpeggios
Out Phase: strumming (due to less volume)

Maybe try some electrical cleaning spray
Can you check out the Harley Benton CST-24T P90 Black Flame it’s a relatively inexpensive guitar and it’s very beautiful

nice. do you have a vid about re-building one of these?
Yes check through my channel, I did a build on this very guitar
What if I put mustang pickups in fender Stratocaster on neck and bridge position 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Would sound pretty much like a Strat, I've tried it before many years ago
related to strings, which string would be good for mustangs, any ? thank you for the video.
Personally I like 10s for silky smooth solos or 11s for a more beefier sound
Good video dude. Ever tried a Peavey Raptor Exp?
I've tried many Peavy's in the past not sure on that particular model

What do you mean in out?
@@theguitarmanifesto in phase, out of phase or what have you
Oh he just used the bridge from seeing his switches on love performances 🎸👌
Is this how 5he switches on the JagStang work?
Yes the same
Can I split the coil on humbucker using that same on off on switch?
I guess you could but thinking of wiring it gives me a headache

Random question -- how did you hang guitars, frames, etc on concrete? All my stuff is in my basement, which has concrete walls.
Guitar hangers, raw plugs and screws
I feel like I have to replace mine soon the switches aren't reliable anymore and i have to switch them 4 or 5 times to get them to connect :^(
Ah dang it, they're pretty easy to swap over just get some switchcraft replacements
nice tutorial, what is the usual kurt cobain pickup settings?
Just the bridge on its own
