Lemmo never fails to impress. First grove was something special.
Michael is an absolutely gifted guitarist.
To be honest, Michael Lemmo was the reason I kept playing the guitar.. thanks for keeping it up, been watching guitar of the day now since 3 years. thanks Mr. Lemmo
Lovely! The Vintera II Mustang Bass is a winner too!
Ok, i am throwing all my guitars in the garbage….this man is awesome! I need you to be my teacher!!!! After 5:57 I just sat there mesmerized with my mouth open in a trance! Great demo!
The switching on a Mustang is a little different from other two-pickup guitars. There are two 3-position switches, one for each pickup; centet position on each is OFF for that pickup. The back and forward positiond are both ON, and if the other pickup is OFF, you won’t hear any difference. If the switches both point the same way, you get both pickups ON-in phase. It doesn’t matter which way the switches are pointing-if they both point the same way, they’re in phase. If they point in opposite directions, they’re out of phase. Four different sounds, but six switch positions. Lots of redundancy there! In 1967 and early ‘68, I was in a band with another guitarist who had a Fender Mustang. At first the only electric guitar I had was a Vox Phantom 12-string, which didn’t really lend itself to hot 6-string lead, so on songs that I played lead on, we’d switch guitars. I got pretty familiar with that Mustang, and I loved the vibrato on it. (The Vox 12 had a very stiff vibrato that would throw the guitar out of tune if I looked at it sideways!) By the end of 1967, I’d saved up enough money to buy a Gibson SG Standard, so we didn’t have to swap guitars anymore.
I have an original ‘71 red with white stripes. Love that guitar.
Lemmo is amazing! Looks like a very fun place to work.
True... I bought (the blue one -.-) and it gives me the most comfortable playing experience ever 😱😱😱 eever! (playing for over 20 years) compared to the 60s, the neck is heavenly slim, always in tune...jeez I'm drooling again....
Such a big smile playing this one...nice
Thank you Jen! Lemmo… very nice display of that guitar. Sonics are super. Dang! So much better than EP001… congrats! You’ve pushed beyond the notes and into real music with phrases… like your Blues friend Joe. Thanks guys.
My second Vintera strat is arriving tomorrow, this time a 70s vintage white. The first one was the 60's firemist gold roadworn strat that I got a few years back and I love that strat so much I wanted a 70's Vintera as well. Great guitars and a great price! Great demo Lemmo!
Norm & The Cute Critters Band.😂. Excellent playing Michael, great video Jen. Norm I watched the Stallone Movie, that was really amazing. You never know the depth or magnitude of what some people overcome in life. What a warrior. 👍🥊💪🏆😎✌️
i keep coming back to this for the sick tunes
Ditto
I see you havin fun ML. Great looking and nice tones 👍👍👍
6:07 those harmonics were absolutely gorgeous
Lemmo is such a fun player to watch. Great demo!
fun expressive guitar
If I could play like anyone in this world it would mike Lemmo.
Beautiful guitar - I want one.
Just ordered this!!! Can’t wait 🎉
Outstanding Lem
Lemmo rules!!❤️🔥🎸🎸🎸
I love my 69 reissue competition stripe MIJ the stock pickups sucked so I wound my own based on 69 mustang specs and it sounds great now. These stock pickups actually sound good!
Badass playing as always.
You guys are great ! 🎸✌️
I deadass thought he was about to play the Mario song
Nice!!! 😮
Great playing, Michael! ✌😊👍
they are amazing actually better than my original. body cut is not slim enough but at least it has 1, fender need to sand some fallaway after 12th fret because bends are impossible up there. I love mine!
Reissued because of Cobain but not lefties of these in sight.
Sounds great that guitar. It’s got balls
That Mustang sizzles.
First, we were given Norman Bates. Now, we've got Norman Soundbites.
Love watching these videos before I go to work x
What a great playing!!...my black Texas tea strat limited edition is arring in 3 weeks (by sea), I want this orange Vintera next.... what a vibrant sound.
The Vintera guitars are great. Old vibe on a new guitar without the silly relic.
I got a Vintera 60's Roadworn strat a while back and the relicing is actually really good! They don't call them a poor man's CustomShop for no reason!
@@ToddTheJoker For a MIM guitar, you can’t beat ‘em with a bat.
Oh Fender, there is nothing that can do what you do!!!
Bad ass axe! Mike, your licks are so fine.
Michael, you must bid ado to the Jazz master for a while.. My friend, you have just found your New Sound. Classic but unique and totally Rockin!. Best of luck my buddy.
So crazy that I was singing this song this morning while getting ready for work haha
what's the name of the song?
Very nice work!
5:57 please dont tell me this was off the dome otherwise this man might literally be the best player on the planet holy shit
never heard the riff but there’s no way right?
Well Done.
Guitar sounds fantastic!🎸 Needs relicing though......and a trem.
Poor old Norm, he's back in his 2nd childhood. 😅😂
best performance i have seen on a fucking mustang!
I recommend watching all the videos Michael Lemmo has done with Mustangs on this channel! they are all epic. He did one with a real orange competition Mustang from 1969 as well, that video was amazing. He also did one with a sweet Daphne blue 65 pre cbs Mustang, loved that video and also with a red 65 shorter 22 scale Mustang as well.
Yo Mike that was awesome 😎 my bro
Please name the 2nd song!
That guitar is fucking wicked
Maybe but this guy makes every guitar sound insane. Seriously.
@@dahliafiend Yeah, in the right hands any guitar can sing. Don't chase gimmicky pickups or amps or glossy, top-of-the-line instruments with all the switches and bells, just learn to play.
If the Vintera quacks like a duck 🦆.......?
so... position 1 was actually both pickups and 2 was just the neck, now 3 was both again but out of phase and we never heard the neck by itself (not that it matters)
Correct! Except in this video at 4:13 when he moves it to position 2 it's only the BRIDGE pickup. You are right, we never heard the neck pickup by itself.
great "gob" for sure ;) loving the videos as always
Sweet ❤🎸☺️
No offense to Norm's but why isn't this guy on tour somwhere?
whats the name of the first song he's playing?
i wonder if Lemmo knows he looks like "uncle Larrys nephew " or Tom Bukovac . Tom is one of or the best Nashville session players ever he is all over you tube
Man he can shred…
What was the first song?
I’ve heard that groove before….. anyone know the name?
My guitar sensei Eric Haugen gots one of these!
LOL Lemmo and his rings!
Great playing but I was looking for a clean, assessment and really didn't have time for a jam session as good as it sounded.
Can someone provide nekck and bridge pickup distance from strings? Thank you!
True story. My Squier Mustang sounds just as good if not...
GOOD LORD LEMMO DONT HURT EM NOW!!!
Lemmo I thought you burned those pick ups 🤣😛
Dang, Norm is looking more and more like Jimmy Page.
You are one fine Nashville Cat.
Awesome as always. I am curious about the switches.
Each of the 2 switches controls one pickup. The pickup is OFF when the switch is the center position. the pickup is ON in either of the other 2 postions . . either 'normal' polarity or reversed polarity.
So as far as I could tell (having been a Mustang owner), the 1st tune was both pickups in phase, the 2nd was bridge pickup only and the 3rd was both pickups out of phase.
Middle is off, left or right on an individual slider is on, when both pickups are on and both either facing left or right it’s normal, when both pickups are on but the sliders are either both inward or both outward both pickups are on but out of phase.
Thx!@@CW0123
Thx. I only had a Mustang bass. I always wanted a Mustang guitar.@@FumbleHead
You're welcome, Janie. 😂
Good playing Lemmo, but not every guitar is cool.
Norm you play that phone well. Cool
Who heard Super Mario Bros.!?😂
I hope Norm went as Biden for Halloween he looks more like him the SNL could ever pull off.
Anybody else have shielding issues with this guitar? I just bought it and it is noisy as hell and it has no shielding in the cavities.
He Runs Hendrix ..
👍✌❤😎
I've seen cats on here butcher the heck out of good guitars with countless silly mods and still not sound half as good as you do just grabbing one right out the box.
Lesson of the day?
Practice & learn to play.
Nothing’s changed. A Mustang is blue collar high performance & a Jaguar is Ivy League.
70s not 70’s
Lemmo is a clever player, and understands the groove...
But he always looks like he needs a good bath to me.
What a completely necessary and on topic comment that you definitely needed to share with us. Thank you.
Back off on the reverb..
