Invested so much into games my collection is massive i probably won't play every single game i own before i pass lol (over 2k games on steam, thousands of games on PS Vita/PSP/Switch, 200-400+ on PS4/PS5/Xbox that i got physical and digital. Most factory sealed and lots of limited editions.
Nothing has changed. Gaming just got a wider field now and not everyone is as enthusiastic as the gamer from heart. These masses are the reason why games feel more and more the same.
Every year E3 was like Christmas to me and was always a dream of mine to one day go to E3 Unfortunately that will never happen, but I'll remember all the great times I had watching E3 every year I'll miss you E3 !!!

Covid is what killed E3. Had it not have disappeared for a few years because of Covid restrictions and essentially getting replaced by Geoff's Game Awards, it would still be going strong.
Good riddance. I hated that conference. Now it's easy. You don't have to attend to see it or play demos you just see it live on your home eating nachos with cheese and being naked. We're in the digital era our presence isn't always needed. Robots will do most of the hard work so we can be more relaxed. No need to work 8 hours just 4 with the same pay grade.

Honestly, I just miss surprise announcements like what we had at E3. It's not like we don't have them now but they are far and few between. With so many leaks these days, it's hard to get excited for something new.
A core memory of mine from E3 will always be watching the E3 2016 conference while in class at school and attempting to contain my excitement when they cut to Spider-Man. I picked it up as soon as the narration said "a guy from Queens"
I miss E3 events such as these. Staying up late at night before school the next morning was a true highlight. Will always remember though and laugh at the British guys jab at Microsoft by saying “Whilst others go back on their word and their policies”. It certainly got a huge pop 😂
Imagine if we could get our hands on one of those original PS3s. It featured two HDMI ports, three Ethernet ports and six USB ports (4 on the front and 2 on the back), optical audio port and your traditional PS AV port. Insane.

I will miss Sony at E3. I'm glad for States Of Play, but nothing beats the excitement of E3 announcements. And man, the part where the PS4 price is announced and the reveal of Kratos always gives me chills.
To me, E3 2015 was legendary. Opening with the long awaited The Last Guardian, but also presenting Horizon for the first time and with gameplay, then announcing FF7 remake and also promoting Shenmue 3's kickstarter (which was still a big thing back then and before seeing how it ended up). Frankly, all other titles shown in between those announcement where forgotten.
That 2013 E3 was LEGENDARY! One of the reasons I am worried about MS going on this consolidation crusade is their history of doing things like they tried to do with the Xbox One. People so easily forgets how anti-consumer they were. If they even sniff the lead of the console market, as they did exiting the 360 era, I fear they will return to doing the kinds of things they did then.
I love when you make these type of videos and seem a ton of nostalgic videos but was surprised you didn't include the last of us part 2 was so cool when they made the atmosphere based on the reveal

Man, I missed these E3 announcement. I used to stay up till 3/4am to watch these announcement (different time zone). The hype and energy here adds to the excitement and anticipation for these new console and games. Its just not the same with today's online video stream.
I will never ever forget that 2013 E3 conference. I had an Xbox 360 for that generation which brought me many fond gaming memories but after the massive betrayal of Microsoft when they announced how the Xbox One was going to work despite every single gamer's outrage at the news, I knew that I just couldn't support that company anymore. After Sony made their announcement that their PS4 was not only going to be the cheaper new gen console, but that it was also going to do the complete opposite of what Microsoft wanted to force upon us, Microsoft knew that if they had continued to go with their plan, it would 100% mean the death of Xbox so they had no choice but to do the same as what the PS4 will do with regards to used games and online connectivity. But it was too late, the damage has long been done and the trust had long been broken. There was no way I could support a company that initially wanted to take away our freedom and enforce those horrible restrictions upon us, even if they did rescind those plans, not because they wanted to, but because they were forced to by the opposition. That was when I decided to jump ship to the Playstation 4 for that generation, and now to the Playstation 5, and I couldn't be happier with the decision I made that day. Long live Playstation!

There are clips with audio for the very first one about the $299 bombshell. It would have been awesome if you could add that. The whole punch of the moment is lost without audio and hearing the crowd reaction. It is a significant moment in PS history. Heck, do a re-upload if necessary. This video is a great collection and will be viewed for years to come. :)

I only started watching E3 showcases live in 2005 when it was streamed live for the first time as I remember on IGN. I do think E3 2018 deserved a mention because they had the best gameplay demo ever (imo) with TLOUpt2 and also the massive creative booths they had for GOT, Death Stranding, TLOUpt2, and Spider-Man at the show. I believe they even made a whole ass newspaper for it.
Man, nostalgia is a powerful drug. I Can recall where I was when I watched all of these announcements & its sad that a lot of the personalities/people that made up the PlayStation division are no longer with the company (Shawn Layden & Andrew House will always be my favourites). Shame E3 is dead but at least there will be more events, including Gamescom & Geoff Keighley's power hour (summer games fest & the game awards)

I wish we could go back to mid-late 2010s again. E3 was a massive part of my teenage years. I remember reading about Assassin's Creed Unity and The Order 1886 in Official PlayStation Magazine as a 17 yr old in senior year of High school and being mega hyped for both, even though I was still stuck with a PS3 at the time and didn't have a PS4 yet.
I remember laughing about Sony trying to compete against Sega and Nintendo. For me was just impossible to think that any company could dethrone Sega and Nintendo in Gaming

I do think E3 2018 deserved a mention because they had the best gameplay demo ever (imo) with TLOUpt2 and also the massive creative booths they had for GOT, Death Stranding, TLOUpt2, and Spider-Man at the show. I believe they even made a whole ass newspaper for it.

Man, nostalgia is a powerful drug. I Can recall where I was when I watched all of these announcements & its sad that a lot of the personalities/people that made up the PlayStation division are no longer with the company (Shawn Layden & Andrew House will always be my favourites).
Shame E3 is dead but at least there will be more events, including Gamescom & Geoff Keighley's power hour (summer games fest & the game awards)
I completely agree! I feel the exact same way! Andrew house and Shawn Layden were so great! AND they were also gamers themselves! I remember Shawn Layden coming out on stage wearing that Crash Bandicoot t-shirt! So EPIC! 😎
I wish we could go back to mid-late 2010s again. E3 was a massive part of my teenage years. I remember reading about Assassin's Creed Unity and The Order 1886 in Official PlayStation Magazine as a 17 yr old in senior year of High school and being mega hyped for both, even though I was still stuck with a PS3 at the time and didn't have a PS4 yet.
Sadly I didn't even get a chance to go in the past.
I remember laughing about Sony trying to compete against Sega and Nintendo. For me was just impossible to think that any company could dethrone Sega and Nintendo in Gaming
