@@wmv8996 in theory the ps3 was almost as powerfull as a ps4 pro in 2006 because of the cell processor. Even the airforce used the ps3 because of the low price for that high power. So if the developer really could use the full potencial of the cell, the price of 600 would be like nothing at all.

That 2013 E3 was LEGENDARY! One of the reasons I am worried about MS going on this consolidation crusade is their history of doing things like they tried to do with the Xbox One. People so easily forgets how anti-consumer they were. If they even sniff the lead of the console market, as they did exiting the 360 era, I fear they will return to doing the kinds of things they did then.

I will never ever forget that 2013 E3 conference. I had an Xbox 360 for that generation which brought me many fond gaming memories but after the massive betrayal of Microsoft when they announced how the Xbox One was going to work despite every single gamer's outrage at the news, I knew that I just couldn't support that company anymore. After Sony made their announcement that their PS4 was not only going to be the cheaper new gen console, but that it was also going to do the complete opposite of what Microsoft wanted to force upon us, Microsoft knew that if they had continued to go with their plan, it would 100% mean the death of Xbox so they had no choice but to do the same as what the PS4 will do with regards to used games and online connectivity. But it was too late, the damage has long been done and the trust had long been broken. There was no way I could support a company that initially wanted to take away our freedom and enforce those horrible restrictions upon us, even if they did rescind those plans, not because they wanted to, but because they were forced to by the opposition.
That was when I decided to jump ship to the Playstation 4 for that generation, and now to the Playstation 5, and I couldn't be happier with the decision I made that day. Long live Playstation!

Shoot man! You took me back in time to my teenage days! I used to follow E3 on gaming magazines like EGM, Game Pro, and many more back in the 90s'. I only started watching E3 showcases live in 2005 when it was streamed live for the first time as I remember on IGN. I am so thankful that I got to attend E3 in-person back in 2016 and it's a memory I will always cherish. I just hope the expo gets the update required to keep it alive because it has a lot of meaning for the industry, heck it's a celebration of everything gaming! It's not like these one off live streams, it's just not. And you can't appreciate it unless you visited it in-person. Otherwise, it's just one less live stream! Moreover, this reminded me of so many moments that built the PlayStation brand in my subconscious mind, until Jim Ryan took over and destroyed that image for good😑😞 One last thing, I could not believe when I saw Andrew House at 2:37 😮 he looked very different!

I do think E3 2018 deserved a mention because they had the best gameplay demo ever (imo) with TLOUpt2 and also the massive creative booths they had for GOT, Death Stranding, TLOUpt2, and Spider-Man at the show. I believe they even made a whole ass newspaper for it.

Man, nostalgia is a powerful drug. I Can recall where I was when I watched all of these announcements & its sad that a lot of the personalities/people that made up the PlayStation division are no longer with the company (Shawn Layden & Andrew House will always be my favourites).
Shame E3 is dead but at least there will be more events, including Gamescom & Geoff Keighley's power hour (summer games fest & the game awards)

I completely agree! I feel the exact same way! Andrew house and Shawn Layden were so great! AND they were also gamers themselves! I remember Shawn Layden coming out on stage wearing that Crash Bandicoot t-shirt! So EPIC! 😎

I wish we could go back to mid-late 2010s again. E3 was a massive part of my teenage years. I remember reading about Assassin's Creed Unity and The Order 1886 in Official PlayStation Magazine as a 17 yr old in senior year of High school and being mega hyped for both, even though I was still stuck with a PS3 at the time and didn't have a PS4 yet.

I remember laughing about Sony trying to compete against Sega and Nintendo. For me was just impossible to think that any company could dethrone Sega and Nintendo in Gaming
