One of the best experience videos I have seen and what an incredible collection! 2023 was a banner year. Surprised however at your 2024 resolution - thought you would go for an aquanaut or nautilus next - with 3 Patek purchases in 1 year, you can get a sports model easily
2023 was a great year to fill in the collection. I'm not gonna push things for 2024. I need to take it easy for a while. I actually love the look of the 5226G, and hope I get it this year in 2024. Then I might think about a Nautilus for 2025.
@@sc1 I think that is an awesome way to go re the Patek plans. Love the fact you are not just going for the 2 hype watches from Patek - they have so much more to offer
Congrats again on the purchase! Hopefully there isn’t any buyers remorse of going rose gold vs white gold because the watch is truly stunning! Any reason for not going with any of the other brands like Breguet, VC, or AP?
Any chance you disclose the Rolex model you hope to pick up in 2024 or did I miss that? One more Daytona and we will start calling you Mr. Daytona. Congrats on a strong 2023 and looking forward to see what you do in 2024.
I mentioned in a previous video that I’m the list for the green/black bezel GMT Master II. I think that’s the only other Rolex I want to get for now, unless a stone dial Day-date or steel Daytona comes my way, which is very unlikely.
Interesting review, thanks. Just wondered whether you also tried the D and F combination. Or even a D and D, in which case you may find some adjustment still available in the glide lock..just a thought..Not sure whether I would go for another Calatrava, when there are so many other PP models..have you considered any of the complications? Or is it a question of building up a spend history to gain access to these? Looking forward to the chase in 2024, 🤞 Good luck..
I didn't have the chance to try out the other combinations of Oysterflex. Probably D and F would be too big. I think D and D would have been too small for me. The D and E fits well. Even now the D/E with the tightest Glide Lock can leave some imprints on my wrist. And still I have plenty of room to expand in the summer. I think the 5226 looks sufficiently different than anything I own now. I want to eventually build up to the Nautilus. Some of the other complications and grand complications are attractive, but are very expensive, and more than I'm willing to spend right now.
Also, they say that you should leave a fingers worth of space under your bracelet and wrist - was that the case in your sizing? Also, did the Daytona feel too heavy? Did it tend to flip side to side?
This Daytona does not feel too heavy at all, but it still feels substantial. I can still slip one finger under the bracelet, and it still doesn't move around. The rubber Oysterflex tends to grip the skin.
Watch Shells (Korea) provide exceptional, high quality, transparent stickers that are essentially invisible, and that do a brilliant job of protecting the polished clasp. The stickers are applied onto a wetted surface and can be slipped into position. After 12 months of near daily wear of a polished Rolex Oyster clasp, this afternoon I replaced just one sticker on the clasp ( there are 10 stickers on the clasp IIRC). The reason for the replacement was a lifting edge on just one sticker that was not properly aligned at installation. Otherwise the stickers on the clasp look just as new (invisible) as the day they went on
Thanks so much for posting. Unfortunately your video confirmed my fears about the fit for us smaller wristed folks. I was worried about the strap sitting too high on the wrist and it being a little uncomfortable if you wear it snug (which is how I prefer my watches). I think I may hold out for a full gold bracelet or simply buy the stainless model in the grey market.
I didn’t mean to be too negative on the Oysterflex. As long as I don’t wear it too tight, it is a comfortable bracelet. And I like the casual look. I guess you could get a similar look by putting on an after-market rubber strap on a full gold Daytona (but without the ceramic bezel)
@@sc1 I totally get it. I've never been able to try on the Oysterflex when properly fitted to my wrist and when I see others wearing it, it seems to sit high. I'm trying to balance that with the prevailing wisdom out there that the Oysterflex is for many extremely comfortable. I guess what I'm saying is, I was looking for any critical feedback to justify my decision to cut bait and find another use of funds :)
@@sc1 hey man, just picked up a full white gold Daytona from the AD with the silver dial and black sub-dials. So happy with my choice and decided to avoid the oyster flex. Really appreciate your perspectives - the OF looks amazing but my gut said to stick with the bracelet 🙏
Totally with you on keeping the collection quality over quantity. I plan to sell a Rolex and Omega this year. I think 8 or 9 Rolexs probably covers what u want in my collection. And 3 pateks (have none and don’t expect the call for the ones i want lol) Lovely daytona but oysterflex isn’t for me - maybe if i got the 9 Rolexs it could be my 10th but not there yet!
I have a stainless steel collection right now. My wedding ring is white gold and stainless watches go best with almost everything I wear. I want this one but now I’m considering white gold.. hmmm
It's a beautiful dial and I love the rose gold; however, I hate rubber straps. The Oysterflex just wouldn't suit my dress style. I feel it cheapens the Daytona a little and is marketed more towards these vapid hip-hop/sports stars.
@@sc1 Yes, I suppose our tastes do change upon access and familiarity to these pieces. I can't imagine I'll ever get to own one, but it's a special watch nonetheless.
Not everyone likes metal links. I’ve tried metal straps and just don’t like them. I’m also much more casual in my style so the oyster flex works for me.
Boss man - what do you do! Solid collection! Also, im a new owner of the same oysterflex daytona but with the black dial and loving it.
Best watch in your collection !! Incredible
Nice to hear someone mention how the oysterflex can be uncomfortable and imprint the wrist with the wings ! Great complete review
Thanks for watching!
Only if too tight.. otherwise it's extremely comfortable.
Unless you like wearing watches loose (I'm not a fan ) it usually leaves marks for me

No regrets on picking up the Everose Gold Daytona. Maybe the White Gold is slightly more preferable, but my Rose Gold example is very beautiful!
Beautiful watch and I think you made the right decision on the sundust dial. The white gold version is also nice but the sundust dial is nicer.
I'm surprised about with how much I like wearing it. I haven't been able to take it off for the last 10 days.

White gold Daytona incoming this week.

@@sc1 I'm 6.5" and went with D/F on my 116519 Black Diamond Dial. fit perfect. Though it may also be relative to actual wrist shape.
5226 is a great watch, you will love it....got mine last decemeber@@sc1
The dial on the 5226 looked great. Just concerned about the size. Does it wear too large on the wrist?
Not at all. I have small wrist and fit perfect, Is very comfortable, as all Patek, is very thin@@sc1
Great review thank you!

@@sc1 did you just see the Nico L video ranking Patek philippe watches - he trashed our 5205G😂 while others like Bijoux and Tim Mosso adore the 5905
@@abhaig Screw Nico, let’s see him afford any of these Patek and get them from the AD. I’d rather trust bijoux and mosso for a more unbiased review.
@@sc1 👍my sentiments exactly!
Beauty, how long did you have to wait for this?
Honestly, this was not on my wishlist. It was offered about 1-2 years after buying some other pieces.
Fantastic review!
I think a Patek Aquanaut would balance your high end collection, good luck this year!
I will try it on again next time, but the Aquanaut just seemed big for my wrist.

the best daytona out there. sundust is so underrated.
Congratulations you have a superb collection I personally like everrose gold a video of what you have let go recently would be interesting too
Cool, thanks. For some reason, I was reluctant to go with Everose gold , but it actually looks great in person.
Another beautiful piece to the collection. Great review. Still waiting for mine….
Good choice!
Beautiful watch. It’s really grown on me.

you might be able to find a full gold bracelet for under retail on the grey.
