- Today, I am exploring some more of Bangkok, as I like to do, But this time, I am exploring like a Local! I try the train for the first time, and everywhere I go I meet amazing people and have nice conversations. I love interacting with Thai People, they are some of the friendliest in the world! I stop by at a local spot for a Chicken Pad Krapao, one of my favourite streetfood dishes!

I'll be in Bangkok in early November! I will try to explore the less traveled sites of the city too.
My last day in Thailand I found myself in the same area as all those old trucks, I was amazed by all of them in such good condition. I always walked around the areas I was in and found so many cool, random things. I can't wait to return for my next adventure.

If you like trains I highly recommend taking a local train from Bangkok to Mahachai. Takes less than an hour. Machachai is a small port city with a seafood market and restaurants. It's a totally different railroad line from the trains you see around Bangkok. Take the BTS over the river to Wongwian Yai station. Get off and look for the station entrance along the left side of the roundabout, it's kind of hidden from street view. After you get off at Mahachai, walk down the main street to the end. There's a small ferry there that goes across the river (and a good seafood restaurant right next to it). Once across, walk to the right a couple hundred meters and you will be at Ban Laem station. This is the train that goes to Mae Khlong, where they have the famous train market where the train passes right through the produce market and the locals have to raise their awnings and pull back their goods. It's really cool !

Is it worth to go all the way to Mae Klong? Or just to Maha Chai? For a day trip? Maybe Mae Klong too far/long for a return trip?
@@calky360 I think it's worth it to take the train all the way to Mae Khlong because the train market has become quite popular with tourists and if you take a bus there you will find many people jockeying to take pictures but when we did it we just took pictures right out of the back door of the train. It will take most of the day. We took a 10am train from BKK. I think the train from Ban Laem to Mae Khlong didn't depart till 1pm so we had to wait awhile at the station. I would advise to check the time tables to figure out the best times.

The big money was in those airstream trailer/campers. I don't know what it is about trains but I enjoy them, we just rode the Luang Prabang to Vientiane train in Laos. Scenery on the way was awesome

I'm guessing those Chevrolet Suburbans are ex-US Embassy Fleet Vehicles. They are left-hand drive, all the same colour basically and from about 1990. If someone imported them the tax on them would be more than their value.

Hey mate. Since seeing your bike I’ve wanted to tell let you know about a market I found. I’m an Aussie living in bangkok. I used to race bikes but now my life is a scooter. I found the coolest market you could imagine out side bbk. It’s all for dekwan. The whole market is for racing parts for your bike. You’d love it. And I believe it would make a killer video for you. It’s an hours ride from city. Poonsap motorcycle market. I’d be happy to ride with you there. As it can be tricky avoiding the tollways. Police love fining farangs for taking the wrong turns. Make sure you turn off tollways on google maps when exploring on your bike mate 👍 research this bro it’s really cool.

Maybe the Chevvy Suburban's were used for United Nations during the Cambodian issues in the mid 80's? ( UNTAC).My pal worked in Aranyaprathet and drove one of these regularly down to Phuket UN Plates at the time.

The sign on the fence with motorcycles says “Evidence Parking”. Given the location next to a police station, I’d say those Chevy’s were confiscated as police evidences.

I have used the train, bus and boat for years. A good way of getting around. Near Makkasan there is a train graveyard. All the old unused trains . A taxi is always the last resort.

@@josiem5374 Most Thais will understand a certain level of English. With that being said, some of my most memorable experiences were when we could only communicate by hand gestures or by smiling and laughing together. Show child like curiosity with a smile and you'll be surprised how welcoming and open people become. I have since then started learning Thai in a Thai language school which has leveled up my experiences exponentially.
