Another aspect I didn't touch on: The staff serve you are not permitted to serve yourself. A great way to keep disgusting pax from touching food & infecting others with whatever they may be carrying!
Loved your video! Our first Oceania Cruise was the Rivera Venice to Istanbul in 2013. .,,,, and last April The Sirena Buenos Aires to Rio... Both cruises were great.. Met some really nice people and had really great meals.... Love the Home Chocolate Ice Cream! Looking forward to more good times! Notice you did the Solstice! We did also! Honolulu to Sydney... Too many sea days!
We're booked on our first Oceania cruise next month. We're looking forward to the excellent food, the updated cabins, and unpacking once while visiting 9 countries. There's no better way to kick off being newly retired.
Just got off the riviera oceania suite. Not the best food or execution 14th cruise.. they did not dock at 3 of 7 scheduled ports save your money .. many on our cruise felt the same way
@@Davidg1940 Yup. I was on the same cruise. Barcelona to Southampton. There was a dock worker's strike in Portugal so we missed two ports including Lisbon. And the seas were too rough at St Peter's port to operate the tenders. We noticed that between March and May, Riviera had significant turnover in their crew, because many of the experienced staff were transferred to the new ship Vista. The replacement crew (May) didn't provide the same experience we received in March.
LOL! I can think of a lot of ladies who would sell their soul to weigh 128 before, during, or after a cruise. Glad you had a great time. I put on about 12 pounds during our 23 day Oceania cruise. And that's with averaging 15,000 steps per day during the cruise. One half pound per day is pretty typical for me. It takes me about 6 weeks of hard work to lose it.
Great intro from a passengers perspective. Need a summary statement from your own experience. Was it great, okay or not up to your expectations with examples.
We've done 2 trips on the Riviera. The food has been absolutely tops! The Grand dining Room overall is excellent, but the real treat is doing the specialty rest. on board. Red Ginger/Polo Grill/Toscana/Jacques. These are all "complimentary". No UP CHARGES! le Reserve & Privee do have extra charges, either by wine pairing(Le Reserve) Or reservations for private dinner parties(Privee) Red ginger is our favorite, closely followed by Jacques. All are excellent in our opinion. We own a large food service company & are foodies, as they would say.
@@keithm1138 I already. I’m a huge foodie and I loved all the food I ate on Oceania Riviera. Excellent, main dining room and the terrace buffet and of course all the specialty restaurants. So so good. Mmmm.
I prefer Viking because it’s more modern, and drinks and excursions are included. But we’ll probably do more Oceania cruises because prices are too attractive and we miss unlimited lobster tails 😄. How about you, Rod Bourne?
@@GraceDogmom Much prefer Oceania...Viking has expanded too fast.. service on our Bankok to Bali Orion Nov 2019 left a lot to be desired.. Other passengers where complaining. Loved the new ship..but never again.. Just signed up for Capetown to Lisbon on Oceania--waitlisted in Mays 2022.. Hopefully a vaccine by then..
Oh that’s good to know. I can see how the Viking’s quality could have gone down. Yeah hope the vaccine will be ready by next year 🤞. Good luck with your future travel. It sounds amazing.
We haven't sailed on Viking, but Oceania will definitely be our second home. The updated cabins are beautiful and spacious on Riviera. The service and food are the best that we've ever experienced on sea or land. I'm not normally a bread eater, but OMG, Oceania's bakery makes fresh breads and desserts around the clock daily. Unlike the big cruise ships, I never got passed up by a full elevator. The only negative is that we've found the production shows to be mediocre, but the singers and dancers are definitely top-notch. It's such a joy to not be nickel and dimed for every little thing, as was the case on Princess.
just got off the riviera.. TERRIBLE The Captain made an an announcement to stop the negative blobs that were going aroung the ship did not stop at 3 of 8 ports.. I found the food and the execution to be substandard This is not luxury WATCH OUT
Wow, 3 out of 8 ports cancellation is terrible even if it’s not cruise company’s fault. I’m sorry you didn’t have good cruise. My husband and I came back from NCL cruise a month ago and we found the cruise is not the same any more after pandemic. Disappointing 😩
Yes, the food is the finest at sea. But you paid for it. Same cruise on Princess or Celebrity or Royal Caribbean or ... may cost you one tenth of the fare.
Regent is the best. Oceania is a dump. Not worth your money. Small ship. Production show only has 3 or 4 people. Food is not good at all at both the Italia and the seafood restaurants, Lobsters for the last 14 days are super dry and tough., frozon for a long long time. not too many venue to move around. Live music only 45 minutes per day. Most of the youtuber get pay and free cruise to do the bias view. cannot believe. I have been to 250 cruises, Oceania is a total boring experience.
This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you. ☺️
I’m glad this was helpful! 😊

Wow you did so many good routes. We normally look for good deals. That’s why most of our cruises were Caribbean 😅

The food and presentation looks amazing.
Nice video, thanks for posting
definitely more upscale than celebrity cruises
We just returned from a 10-day cruise on Insignia. When I left home, I weighed 123 pounds. Ten days later I weighed 128. The food was outstanding.
😅 you must had good time!

WHICH cruise line did you like better... We've been on Viking Ocean, Oceania Sirena and Rivera, Which Cruise line do yo prefer

Is the food free on the ship or I should buy it ?
Everything’s free including one reservation in each specialty restaurants for 7day cruise.
It’s not free, you pay for it with the cost of the cruise. But it’s not extra. It’s included and the food is fabulous.
