  • We met up with Mikey February and our CT surfers Lakey Peterson, Jacko Baker, Joao Chianca, Nat Young and Jordy Lawler to let them take their first spin on our new everyday shortboard: Happy Everyday. We captured immediate reactions and thoughts following their first session.
Created by Britt Merrick from what was initially the Two Happy performance shortboard model, our new Happy Everyday fills a need in every surfer’s quiver: the everyday shortboard.
Sometimes you face the kind of conditions where you want to rip but aren’t feeling the groveler vibes, and at the same time it may not quite be the epic stuff you would use your high performance shortboard for. To achieve this goal, Britt shortened the rail to create a curvier outline, especially through the tail area. For both the entry and exit rockers he lowered them to increase paddle and planing speeds to cover a broader range of conditions. The single concave under the front foot acts as a gas pedal and generous double concave through the fins provides rail. The single concave under the front foot acts as a gas pedal and generous double concave through the fins provides rail-to-rail ease and plenty of lift in the small stuff.
The Happy Everyday is a great all-around design that sits right between your high performance shortboard (Two Happy) and a step down/groveler (Rocket Wide). It’s ridden most often as a thruster but can be ordered as a five-fin-some people have been raving about riding it as a quad.

Missed opportunity to have actual everyday surfers test these boards not just some pro's that will ride anything well and never say something bad. Of course the surfing will not look as good but hearing feedback from intermediate surfers (your target group) is waayyy more enticing imo.

A couple of you in this thread are complaining this is a marketing scheme. Well, how bloody well else are they supposed to sell their boards? I for one found this video highly informative and incredibly entertaining. I’ve been deciding on a new shortboard and went to go buy one this morning here in Sydney. Lets just say I had a competing brand’s model in mind. I put a 6’0 Happy Everyday under my arm and couldn’t put it down. Heading down to the waves right now and had to watch this again to get psyched for her maiden wave. Wish me luck.

Update: it paddles like a dream. Remains really playful underfoot and super FAST making sections. Will be a few more sessions before I can say for sure but it’s fair to say that I absolute I love my new board.

@@joshuahorwitz6458 Thanks for the stoke. We didn't really think the concept through all that well and can see why people would think it's disingenuous. 9/10 of our team loves it, and from our experience that is a super high ratio. Usually lucky if 50% of the team loves a design because there usually is never a one size/one design solution for all surfers. Enjoy!

This thing is fast. Absolute rocket. So easy to control. Early days but I reckon its a magic board. More of a grovel vibe than I was expecting, this isn't a HPSB

looks like a good board. I understand getting their sponsored surfers to test them. it's unfair to ask those sponsored surfers to give an unbiased review. They are never going to say they are rubbish, they'd be biting the hand that feeds them.

Fair comment, maybe naive on our part, but lucky for us it's a great board. We don't pay these guys but they do receive free boards. Can't argue with your point but can only assure you this was genuine and they love it.

    Hey guys,
    Have a doubt here
I am regular(4 boards in a row) of OG flyer 5.8 (26.4L), want to give it a change , so my options :
HappyEveriday 5.7 with same volume for daily surf .. however if I need a small step up for 4 to 6 foot uluwatu (not to big just more barreling), should I go with the TwoHappy 5.9 or 5.10 with same 26.5 L +-(which is my ideal volume, I'm 64kgs, 1.76cms, 35 years of surf)? Or adjust up a bit the volume ?

I currently ride a 5’11 ultra joe, but it’s a little low rocker for our dumpy waves on the Florida Panhandle… do you think this would be appropriate for that waist to chest high range in weak but dumpy waves? I’m getting older and “ripping” less and less each day but still prefer short boards.
