Happy Everyday - Britt Breakdown

- Created by Britt Merrick from what was initially the Two Happy performance shortboard model, our new Happy Everyday fills a need in every surfer’s quiver: the everyday shortboard.
Listen to Britt give you the entire backstory to the design as well as insights into the design features.
As we all know, sometimes you face the kind of conditions where you want to rip but aren’t feeling the groveler vibes, and at the same time it may not quite be the epic stuff you would use your high performance shortboard for. To achieve this goal, Britt shortened the rail to create a curvier outline, especially through the tail area. For both the entry and exit rockers he lowered them to increase paddle and planing speeds to cover a broader range of conditions. The single concave under the front foot acts as a gas pedal and generous double concave through the fins provides rail. The single concave under the front foot acts as a gas pedal and generous double concave through the fins provides rail-to-rail ease and plenty of lift in the small stuff.
The Happy Everyday is a great all-around design that sits right between your high performance shortboard (Two Happy) and a step down/groveler (Rocket Wide). It’s ridden most often as a thruster but can be ordered as a five-fin-some people have been raving about riding it as a quad.

I want a Happy Family now too :) - Clever concept & great looking quiver.
The channel island guys are unreal with their knowledge, got one these boards today it’s so controlled it goes wherever you want it to 👌🏻
That's actually a solid explanation for why they are so many "Happys". It'd be something to consider doing across other popular shapes if the Happy model isn't your go-to.
Looks a lot like the Dumpster Diver, which was an awesome board
yes but dumpster diver so flat rocker in the tail.
Still is a great board love it to bits. Pretty sure the dumpster has medium tail rocker. Definitely likes to sit in the pocket and steep sections
Im happy everyday 😊
It would have been incredibly helpful to have this as reference before I bought mine off the rack at my same height... Now I have a brand new board that does in fact feel big under my feet in every day conditions.
When you said "feel big under my feet", in a good way? Just curious, thinking of getting one.
@@arisaseremo7307no im pretty sure he means it feels too big order it a inch or 2 shorter then your height
🔥 🚀 💯
They did not get simple for us to choose but the opposite. So many boards and new releases everytime😅😅
Which groveller would you recommend to go with the happy range. I have the everyday and the two happy. But need a groveller for the really small days.
Why didn't you talk about the rails? It looks different bit like a flat deck look and the edge tuck also looks different between the fins.
hello.just bought this board in second hand.with fcs2 .can you help me and tell me what fins i need to buy?for 2_6 feet
thanks
Hey is there a actual difference between the blanks in the custom board builder? Example the bass stringer / Rasta stringer etc… or is it purely cosmetic? Just put in a custom order and forgot to even ask before I did
Bud your stringer ain’t have anything to do with the blank. It’s just cosmetic
@@domzyau9627 so all of the blanks with different stringers are made by the same company, have the same weights, same color etc..
How many everyday shortboards are folks making nowadays
one for every day of the year...
Where’s the wide point on this board? Looks like it’s at center or just front of center…
Nat Young at 1:30?
yes
Happy everyday compared to the New Flyer ?
Hey Britt. What are the differences between this board and the OG Flyer? P.S. I love my OG Flyer and certainly recommend it.
@Andrew H Good to know. Thanks for taking the time out of your day to go into depth on what you know about the board. Definitely going to look into one of these boards.
OG certainly looks better on waves than this one..maybe a bit wide, Taj’s version looks narrower. Did you get the OG?
@@17th_Street_Preacher Yes I do have the OG.
The question now is .... what's the difference between happy everyday , rocket wide and neck beard 3 😭
I think main difference is Neckbeard 3 has a round tail whereas the Happy Everyday and Rocket Wide (squash) are squash tails. I think the happy everyday can be ridden in slightly larger surf than the neckbeard and rocket wide, but at the end of the day it’s all preference and going to be different for everyone I’m guessing
the rocket wide is a very good performing board for little wave, the neckbeard 3 is quite similar but different shape for the same type of conditions and the happy Everyday it's a board little and medium size condition.
The question that you may to ask to yourself is: what kind of condition did you surf ? and what kind of feel of surfboards do you like ? (sorry for my bad English)
Thank you so much for all the answers guys ! I think I'll go for the happy everyday , seems like the best all rounder
@Andrew H thanks Andrew ! You guys are number 1
