Get mahogany and Manu some reps in preseason. They can both be rotational players within this next year.
Gotta understand about polys, family is the vibe. With Penei acting as older brother, and the Lions family vibe and how they show love and appreciation at all levels, that's the perfect scenario for guys like Manu and Vaki. If they've got the natural talent, the current Lions environment will take care of the rest, get them to the next level.
The thing I like is that he not only has a fantastic O-Line coach, we also have many great O-Linemen to learn from. He can learn from Penei, Ragnow Deck and could get some reps vs Hutch Reader Alim etc so he could practice vs some good to pro bowl talent as well. Iron sharpens Iron, we got Iron, and coaches
I would have sworn that I was hearing a hockey coach being interviewed.......😂
I don’t care how big he is, I would be scared if Manu had to step in this season or even the following season. Mahogany is in a much better position to step into the lineup if an injury occurs
I agree. However, I think that manu can develop into a solid contributor within a year.
He's a project going from UBC to the NFL is a quantum leap in competition, If he sits, gets stronger and works on his fundamentals he could be a solid to good RT year 2 with a tremendous upside. I think with us giving up a 3rd sort and drafting him with a 4th sorta puts him in a low round 2 pick type of value so I believe he's our post Decker slide Penei to LT and plug Manu to RT when Deck hangs it up guy.
Yes @@kingdomthinker9794 definitely a year ny god
Mahogany will be a starter next year and a good one
What about the UDFA center from Florida. His protection grades against SEC competition is extremely good. How'd he not get drafted?
Apparently, he missed time in 23, either recovering from an injury or an injury in 23. I read teams were concerned due to that.
My favorite pick as well
Ain’t gonna take manu 3 years - maybe one.
That is one big ass draft pick
A Tongan Manu and a Samoan Sewell on the right side is very scary
That "boo" sound drop is amazing
DyNasty Bginz 🦁⚒️💙
my Fav VAKI 🐒🛠️🦁💙
Gentry would be a dope camera man much love
Chicago had the ''frig.''..Detroit now has the ''freezer'' [ Manu ]
If he were to start at RG it will be just to get experience on the right side. The plan is to move him to RT and move Penei to the left.
I've heard RBs have done more bench reps then him
G~Manu the Sasquatch.
Polynesian dudes are just built for football, Giovanni can be as good as Jordan Mailata.
Are they in front of Sorsdal at this point?
It will depend on who improves. These are developmental players and the Lions are aging. There could be room for all of them if they improve enough to play.
@@Cujobob I'm thinking there's a possibility 3 OL rookies will make the 53 man roster:
The two who were drafted along with one of the undrafted centers from either Louisville or UCLA.
@@Cujobob Sorsdal had an up & down season last year.
Rather typical for a rookie.
So I'm hoping, like you, that he's done all he can this off season to improve.
Sorsdal dosnt look good to me
@@jonsmith9708 After a full season in the NFL, we ought to see significant improvement in his play this year.
We ought to know by the end of training camp & the exhibition season if there was any improvement to be had.
Manu is a risk of a draft pick and may not work out. Can the Lions get him coached up and make him an NFL level player? Maybe, and if they can, his upside is worth a risk. If any coach can help him Hank Fraley is that coach. Playing and learning from Sewell (Manu's idol) will get the most from Giovanni. The Lions have the team depth to take a gamble on a player like this. But he is a pick for the 2025 or 2026 Lions teams.
Opposing NFL line speed & strength will be a revelation to him but his drive & athleticism, if what we are hearing about him is real, could make him helpful in year 1 & a starter in year 2.
@@scottjones1109 He is athletic enough to compete in the NFL. I hope your asessment is right. I'd love to see this guy succeed.
@@jppagetoo It's hard to argue with Brad Holmes' track record.
The fact that he traded up to get Manu suggests to me he really believes in this guy.
So I feel compelled to believe in him too.
He has the potential to be as good as Jordan Mailata n Jordan never played football in his life until the Eagles signed him...
Boooooooooooo🤪🤪🤪
