2 years ago I watched your very first video of speaking to a classroom of university students. I used that motivation to get me through my 2nd university degree - I gave up a stable job to go back to school & switched careers mid-life - THANK YOU so much from the bottom of my heart for the inspiration, motivation and drive every Monday =)
i remember watching this exact vid last year aug 20 2013, and here i am opening that same letter you told us to write down.......last year i had no job no money relationship problems...and shortly after writing that letter i went through the worst 4-5 months of my life to the point of depression, but i stuck with you ET and here today i am blessed with the opportunity to work my ass off 60 hours a week in my dream job, i recently purchased a brand new car (my all time dream car) and couldn't be happier with my girl friend....SO ET IF YOU'RE READING THIS RIGHT NOW i hope i at least put a smile to your face because of how much you've affected my life and surely those of others

HEY GUYS! WOW this was so long ago thanks for responding back after so long!! I am so jacked up about life today.....TODAY I run my own business and have been in business since January, I am still in hustle mode right now but I know for a fact I'm on the right track and living towards the life I was meant to be and more importantly I am helping others live the lives they were meant to be!!
My wish is for everyone else to see what I saw in these videos years ago and make the decision to go change their lives!! ET was the very first "mentor" I ever had and he was the one that sparked the seeds inside of me to grow and flourish, he showed me the vision and potential inside and we all have that, only question is: how long will it take to dig it out though??

Watched this and quit my job to fulfill my dream in the sports industry I will keep applying applying and applying until I get there. Never settle for something that you don't wanna do or don't have passion doing.

I walked from my job of almost 7 years benefits EVERYTHING away in March 2011....best decision ive ever made. Thank God for my family and boyfriend for helping me. I cant wait to reward them.

Eric has spent years of his life giving away free material and people are "calling him out" because he doesn't keep giving away free content. Show me one other 'motivational speaker' type that's given away as much free content as Eric, this consistently. Of course he's focused on selling his products/services, he should be. All the people who say 'he fell off' or 'he's selling out' or whatever... you should all be ashamed for being so ungrateful.
Nobody is "calling him out" ihooman - we all LOVE ET! It's just that his content has changed from what is used to be and people want answers as to why this is. #TEAMET! #GRIND!

Dan Mac So what if he gave away free stuff to sell it later? Do you really expect him to keep giving away everything for free? How would you expect him to make a living if he did that?
The fact is, you don't truly value his content if you're not willing to pay for it or at least respect that it's ok for him to sell it. People generally don't appreciate free content. They consume without commitment and don't put it to much use. When you pay for something, you're making a commitment to put that product or service to use.
What's wrong with a test drive? Do you expect cars to be given away for free too? But these videos are definitely not like a test drive. A test drive involves going to a dealership, taking a car for a quick spin, and then returning the car. You can't keep going back to the dealership over and over to test drive the car. But you can keep going back to the nearly 350 videos on this channel to view past seasons of TGIM and other motivational videos. You can't use a test-drive car as your own unless you buy it, but you can watch/listen to these videos or download them as if you own them. They are yours to keep, forever. Also, I recently discovered that some of his motivational CDs that he used to sell are now available for free on Spotify (343 tracks, which total about 43 hours)... which car are you able to test drive for that many hours... please tell me so I can go to that dealership ;)
What's your profession? How would you feel if people told you to do it for free and were upset when you tried to get paid?
The only reason this bothers me so much to write out this long response is because I didn't simply enjoy the TGIM or the other videos themselves... I've been following the channel since way back, and it's even more inspiring to see his progression over the years, starting from just simple videos of him talking to creating products and building a business out of it. The fact he can go from taking simple talking in front of students to building this huge business where he's now giving speeches to major companies and sports teams - that's way more motivating - because it goes to show that he practices what he preaches. It's almost as if we witnessed part of his 'rags to riches' on RUclips right here. I personally don't really know if he was really homeless, but I do know he was practically a nobody on RUclips 4 years ago. And look at him now, with over 300k subscribers. His advice works and he is proof of it. And that's honestly really cool.

A little over a year ago, I began watching your videos... Life changing event without me even knowing it at the time. B'cos of your motivation & my need to succeed, I've decided to walk away from my current job & my country and will be migrating from the Caribbean (among all the naysayers & the negativity) this November to follow my dreams and walk hand in hand with my destiny.
With tears in my eyes, I say THANK YOU!! I still need you for that push on a down day but I'VE MADE A DECISION : )

E.T if you read these comments I urge you to consider this post. I have been encouraged by your TGIM's. It would be greatly appreciated if as a leader you would communicate the why of no more new tgim's in quite a long time. You don't owe anyone anything, however it shows great integrity and consideration of your followers viewpoints and feelings when you communicate that you are going to change direction, and focus. It speaks even greater volumes to your character when you communicate the why. Nobody who supports you will hate on your decisions when there is clear cut communication about upcoming directional changes. I can understand growing your business, strengthening your brand, etc. I pray your endeavors are continually blessed, and that your business and industry exposure continue to grow. Stay willing, stay hungry, stay humble. You are only as strong as your last battle.
I listen to one (at least a day) and i gotta say Thank God i was detoured on my way to getting what i needed, but instead of balling up, i got up sore ankle and all walked 2 and a half hrs to take my truck driving permit test, passed and walked two and half hrs back. Thank you brother

ET..... Eric, I too let go of my job from a private company in which I worked for 3 long years... I was into oracle data processing and I have done everything from data processing to troubleshooting.... I got a promotion there, 4 awards and submitted two innovative ideas. Suddenly I felt disconnected and completely out of place in that job. I have left the job last year and now currently jobless. At this point of time I am preparing for a series of tests in which around TWO MILLION people take part every year for only a few thousand vacant seats.I thank GOD for letting me find you !! I thank YOU so much for keeping your videos available on RUclips for people like me who keep searching for motivation but don't get it. Today I Commit myself to the GRIND ! Last November I dropped out of school because it was making me spiritually sick and I tried going to an alternate school for some months but eventually I started to feel like shit again. But when I left my first school I also quit basketball and told myself my basketball dreams were dead. And after I stopped playing I got back pain and figured out there was a tilt in my hip which started from my short achillese tendons so I to do more yoga and home workouts to restore my bodies balance. And 5 months after joining the second school I went into a stage of harder depression than the first so I decided to leave school for good because it was draining my energies. But during that time I had a dream telling me to play professional basketball so I decided I would put my dream of being a rapper/singer on the side and start training my ass off for basketball because I can come back to music any time. And I also started searching good training places and found the Europe basketball academy so I decided I'm going to train everyday while working to save up to go to Europe and after I promised I will represent canada in the 2015 fiba U-19 world championships and then 2016 Olympics. I already bought an amazing training program and I've been training hard to re balance my body so I can get my full athletic abilities back and then I'm going to do the program everyday I can. But since my bodies still changing and growing so fast I can't shoot right so I've been doing the ball handling drills a lot cause it was my biggest weakness. Now I feel that my posterior chain, back, arms and legs are coming into perfect alignment so it's grind time. I have to push myself harder than I ever have before before going to Europe and keep training hard in the european ball school to earn myself a pro contract since I'll be 18. But my real goal is the NBA so I know Europe is just a stepping stone. But I know nobody can stop me but me. It always seemed so impossible cause of all the negative friends and family I had but all the stuff they put me through ended up making me stronger mentally. If you made it all the way to the end of this wish me luck on the next part of this spiritual journey I have ahead of me. - SR

Et, this video is pretty far back but I hope you see this comment. I am not really struggling... I have no debt, and great job... I won't say how much I make, but I work overseas... the reason I mention that is because would you say the best approach is to utilize my salary to save and plan and then move? Because I am going to take a significant pay cut when I walk away from my profession... any specific numbers you suggest before moving out of it and chasing a new career? A year worth of bill saved? What do you think?
+Steven Blancher Budd, I'd say years savings is pretty good. Then double effort you put in your own business verses the effort you were putting in at work. My humble unasked for opinion.
I would recommend 6 months worth , also why not start you business on the side part time until you think it's ready to go full time ?

He left his job to start making videos for TGIM. It was a risk for him cuz he didn't have any income and his wife was the only one who earned money at that time. But the risk was worth it cuz now he's makin more money than ever by doing what he's truly passionate about

I can say that the 1 thing I have learned about myself is that I love teaching. I work at a vet school, and get to instruct students. It is the one time I am doing something that I become so absorbed in what I am doing I lose track of time. I also started reading Ken Robinson's book "The Element" in which he discusses finding your Element. But I still feel the answer is not fully answered for me.
I do still work for a Vet School. I am still confused. I have a good job, but want to make sure I am moving to the next level. Is that teaching at a school or open a consulting business. Or a combination of both. But enough about me Tell me a bit a about you, if you please.
