Hi thank you for having visited Genova!
Just a correction: at 10:16 that's not the bridge that replaced the Morandi bridge: that bridge is in the Polcevera valley. What you're looking at is the Bisagno valley and its highway bridge, actually this is also a different highway (A12), the new viaduct called "Genova-San Giorgio" is on the A10 (actually it's the beginning of the A10).
There is an usual misconception about Genova: it's much bigger then everyone thinks.
It's 18 miles over the coast and has 2 valleys which their first 6 miles are in Genova.

The flag of St. Gorge is the flag of Genoa. In the past, the English crown paid Genoa to use its flag, the English no longer feared being attacked. Later the rulers of England kept the flag.
The First bank, in the history of the world, was invented in Genoa, it was the San Giorgio bank, in 1407.
Genoa had colonies throughout the Mediterrane and beyond.
Try to go and look for those who were Genoese crossbowmen in the Middle Ages. Kiss and thank you for your visit and vlog ❤

Did you feel safe at night walking around the small lanes down by the harbor? We are traveling to Genoa in July. Thanks!

Hey! Didn’t feel unsafe there personally but I guess if you are worried just be cautious and try and stay in well lit or busy areas, enjoy your trip!

Hi from Genova, hope you'll have a nice stay here. No more danger then any other city, just avoid what you feel uncomfortable with. If you need any info just ask ;)

@@guid1 Buona Sera, grazie! We are from NYC, so we are used to avoiding unpleasant interactions and have pretty good street smarts. We are really looking forward to our first trip to Genoa, we are staying on Via XX Septembre and will be eating at Molo 2.0 and Piedigrotta, gelato at Viganotti, wine tasting at EnoClub. Hope you approve of some of these choices, 🥂 !

Btw I would give you a couple of suggestions:
For pizza/farinata "la funicolare", for genovese dishes (pesto etc) "il Genovese" or "trattoria delle grazie". For gelato, you have to know that in Genova there is a specific type of gelato called "semifreddo" and the flavour to choose, among the otheres, is Panera (creamy-coffee) you can find it from box-cream/cremeria buonafede (same laboratory a couple of old sell points). It's different from gelato and you should give it a try since its not really widespread outside Genova, it's creamier than gelato. If you happen to be in the neighborhood of Boccadasse you can try it from "gelateria amedeo".
Also remember that Genova is not only the centre give a search on "passeggiata di nervi", "parchi di nervi", "parco villa durazzo pallavicini".
