Big fan of the Sportful kit. I was put onto it by a friend who works in the industry. I have two pairs of the Skyrider shorts and have worn in gravel events as and as you say they have really well thought out pockets and great comfort. They also work on the road bike and I think add a bit of flair to a group ride. The only brand that comes close and possibly surpasses them is Albion. They too, have some really well thought out designs and worth a try if you can get hold of it.
I don't recommend sportful. Have their total comfort tights, and tried a bunch of their other stuff. Not good compared to other brands. Sizing and quality is questionable. Just my 2 cents. Rapha le col aasos etc all good consistently.
