As much as people knock zombie apes, it would make a lot of sense. Before testing on human subject exposure to the T-Virus it would make sense to expose the T-Virus to apes since many apes are capable of being sickened by human diseases, so I'm surprised they weren't uses so often. With the Laughing Killer, his concept goes back to Resident Evil 4 with the "Hookman". He would teleport around in a shade of black smoke and would raise the hook when ready to attack. While not a Tyrant, it was an improved version of the zombie. I would like to see in possible future games the Crimson Heads having branches off to become either a Licker or a Tyrant Inferior. The Mimic Creature 7:41 kinda looks like an octopus but if it had like cuttlefish camouflage ability 8:08 and this creature would be great for Resident Evil and you're right this creature should have not been canceled
I'm assuming the majority of these entries are coming from Resident Evil Archives 1 & 2. These are both paperback books that go into great detail on the games, from 0 through dark side chronicles, it would seem. Given what I know of the games, especially Zero, the second form of the "Mimic Creature", or the "Sting Ray" as you call it, was likely not scrapped, but instead utilized for a different creature/s. This is your spoiler warning, btw. Read ahead at your own risk. In Resident Evil 0, you encounter a powerful creature type early on in the game known as the Mimic Leech. These are a mass of T-Infected Leeches that form together en masse and take on a humanoid appearance. When they are in their "mimic" form, they appear as a near perfect representation of James Marcus, their creator. When the disguise is dropped, they retain their human shape, but all pretense of human features is gone. They become very hostile, capable of dealing a lot of damage by whipping their arms at the player at great distances, and spewing acid when up close. They're quick, too, walking in a hurried, bizzare and unbalanced manner on legs that have no skeletal support.. When defeated, the body will bloat with acid before exploding, dealing massive damage to anything close by, and of course, releasing 2 to 3 single leeches that can attach to the player and gradually drain their blood. That is only PART of it though. The creature pictured is VERY similar to how the Queen Leech's final form appears in Resident Evil 0, as well as how these things move. It's not a 1 for 1, but its' more than close enoug hto suggest that, the creature was not so much cut as it was simply redesigned for final release. They're called Mimic Leeches, because they take on the appearance of James Marcus, their creator. Yes, the same James Marcus from the movies, though, as far as the movie Marcus goes, he is Marcus in name and plot purpose only. The real James Marcus was one of the founders of Umbrella, and he had no reason for doing the things that he did, except to stay relevant in the company he helped form. He did this by creating the T-Virus, which he did combing the Progenitor Virus with Leech DNA. The result was the T-Virus, and from that came a new type of BOW: The infected leech, which began to show signs of enhanced intelligence, but more than that, they had developed a kind of hivemind between others of the brood. More than that, they knew who their creator was and even endeared him to themselves, by taking on his likeness. Being the impatient twerp that he is, Spencer sent Wesker and Birkin to claim Marcus's work, and to get rid of him as he had served his purpose, and so the two killed him, dumped his body and stole his research.. The queen leech would make its way into Marcus's body, and over the years, the T-Virus in the queen leech would bond the two and would eventually repair and revitalize Marcus's corpse, but at the same time, reverting him back to his youth, which is where the mysterious young man comes into play. If you've read this far, thanks! If the above creatures interested you, you should know that the Outbreak series had their own variant/version of infected leeches known as the leech man. the creatures mentioned above are different from the ones you meet in outbreak, as the mimic leech were intentionally developed as BOWS. The ones in outbreak are wild leeches just randomly infected and mutated, as such they look very similar to normal leeches. That being said, they share some of the same abilities as the mimicry leech. They have a shared hivemind. A mass of them can take control of dead bodies, making them a mini type of Nemesis. They even have an oversized queen as a boss. The Leech Man was interesting. He wasn't as dangerous as Nemesis, but he could appear at any time on the stage, the longer you lingered in an area, the more likely he was to appear. The more time you spent in the inventory also increased the chances of his appearing. The most annoying part about him, besides him constantly coming back, even after you kill him, is that, whenever he hit you, he'd almost always inflict the bleeding status, forcing you to use valuable herbs, or force you to stick around the cleric in the team. Some may say its lazy how they essentially rehashed the same concept for enemies, but I honestly have to say im impressed at how they managed to take two very similar creatures and tweak them enough to be entirely unique to one another.
Thanks so much for uploading this video. The dark side chronicles is on of my favorite RE titles, now i just wish Capcom would remake the Operation Javier section into its own official game. with the addition of the two monsters you mentioned earlier.
Mechanically speaking the mollusk mimik creature would be a must have in the game as a recurring mid to end game enemy, easy to kill but easier to get killed by and hiding near key objects, attacking and then moving like a shadow to another part of the map, making it a true paranoia inducing nightmare
The 2nd design for the Mimic Creature is clearly a human/octopus hybrid. It's based on the mimic octopus, a real species of cephalopod that uses its fluid body-shape to disguise itself as rocks, debris or even other creatures to evade predators and hunt prey. It's an awesome design dripping with potential, and I'm really sad that it was never used.
I'm bummed that when we got Resident evil 2 Remake, we didn't get any of the cancelled creatures, and they also removed spiders, which is sort of a blessing for me but I'm bummed it wasn't added.
William Birkin in the remake sliced a Mr. X tyrant with ease before completely losing his humanity, but the prototype version had him simply throwing a Man-Spider. That could be something you need to conserve ammo when confronted and get away from ASAP.
5:47 a lot of these are weird but this one is unique and very Resident Evil like. it's a shame they didn't use it. it looks good. i like how you get to see her human form first, it's like a mouth version of Birkin.
The Laughing Killer would be so scary! Imagine walking into a new room to hear nothing but a low chuckling laugh! Make this enemy a jump-scare type enemy and damn i would shit my pants!
As dope as the Hunter Gammas are, the "zombie wild cats" do look horrifying. And that man-spider is pure nightmare fuel. Especially for those people who are already bug-phobic 😳😂
I hope one day in the next resident evil storylines they will be able to have a tamed friendly B.O.W that you develop a relationship with it and helps the protagonist, but umbrella eventually injects it with a virus bringing out its killer instinct to kill all around making it a final boss.
Azinye Fantasy No Steve Burnside was never a B.O.W to begin with, im talking about having a relationship with a Tamed B.O.W. , if you saw what I previously typed I said a friendly B.O.W that was tamed, Steve Burnside was forcefully injected with the T-Veronica Virus he wasn't a B.O.W that was tamed.
People aren't understanding what im typing im talking about a tamed B.O.W, Steve Burnside was never a B.O.W he was a human forced with the T-Veronica Virus, When I mean a tamed B.O.W I mean for example a unamed group were to tame a hunter B.O.W where it's friendly to the protagonist and helps them.
The man-spider was an absolute fantastic design. They already had the design and the animation finished and said "hm, well, let`s scrap that!"....? Hard to believe. I think a development team had half of Resident Evil 2 ready in 1997 or so a few months after the 1996 Resident Evil 1 release (and named it Resident Evil 1.5) but some testers considered it boring, not atmospheric, not creepy enough, not as good and eerie and atmospheric as the original.................. and that`s why the developers changed EVERYTHING they made so far, reworked everything, and made Resident Evil 2 as we know it. This might be the reason why the man-spider has completely wiped off the Resi universe.
Jesus Christ... how many monsters were supposed to be in Resident Evil 2? Because that's enough to fill up a continent
Here's my question why hasn't Capcom put most or all of these bio monsters in other games

Imagine having the manspider in the re2 remake
That would be terrifying
Oh god no
Person I probably wouldn’t have bought the game lmao
Probably the mimic crrature was a mutated mimic octopus
Thanks so much for uploading this video. The dark side chronicles is on of my favorite RE titles, now i just wish Capcom would remake the Operation Javier section into its own official game. with the addition of the two monsters you mentioned earlier.
The Zombie Ape Acts A lot Like The Hunters From Resident Evil 1
Mechanically speaking the mollusk mimik creature would be a must have in the game as a recurring mid to end game enemy, easy to kill but easier to get killed by and hiding near key objects, attacking and then moving like a shadow to another part of the map, making it a true paranoia inducing nightmare
The Transforming Creature makes me think of the Javo and the Neo-Umbrella soldiers from Resident Evil 6. Loved that game.
Man spider: hopefully I can be in the remake
RE2: n O
Hopefully half the enemies can be in re 2 remake
Re2 remake:n O
5:46 Anybody else think of John Capenter's The Thing?
The 2nd design for the Mimic Creature is clearly a human/octopus hybrid. It's based on the mimic octopus, a real species of cephalopod that uses its fluid body-shape to disguise itself as rocks, debris or even other creatures to evade predators and hunt prey. It's an awesome design dripping with potential, and I'm really sad that it was never used.
Props for using "Wreckage of a mad experiment" song from RE2, creepiest song in the whole series. Also, man-spider is the stuff made of nightmares.
Interesting stuff!
Never knew about this deleted/unseen content.
I rarely want to subscribe to someone but honestly your videos are awesome. I can't wait for part 2 and 3 of this miniseries. :D
Yeah. I could see a mimic pretending to be a health herb and attack when someone tries to pick it out of its pot.
Man spider was terrifying. Way better than the licker
MrVolcomclassic terrifying? Very! Better? Naw lol just my opinion. The licker became a RE legend, but the man spider could’ve been added too
I'm bummed that when we got Resident evil 2 Remake, we didn't get any of the cancelled creatures, and they also removed spiders, which is sort of a blessing for me but I'm bummed it wasn't added.
The laughing killer looks like the Hookman from the Resident Evil 4 beta.
William Birkin in the remake sliced a Mr. X tyrant with ease before completely losing his humanity, but the prototype version had him simply throwing a Man-Spider.
That could be something you need to conserve ammo when confronted and get away from ASAP.
The Canceled monsters should be put in New Resident Evil Games, it'd be interesting to see them in action.
5:47 a lot of these are weird but this one is unique and very Resident Evil like. it's a shame they didn't use it. it looks good. i like how you get to see her human form first, it's like a mouth version of Birkin.
There would be a cutscene first where the character is in the lab. Sees the patient and after some brief dialogue she transforms for the boss fight
You just described everything in my nightmares.
Dude keep up the resident evil videos man you are awesome!
The transforming creature looks like a mutation caused by the T-Abyss virus. It reminds me of Rachel's mutation from Resident Evil Revelations.
That inferior Tyrant thing got me curious
2019~
Mimic Creature?
Campcom: Nope.
I'm happy that 2-headed monster at 0:25 was cancelled.
Damn! Those monsters look scary as hell! Great ideas for future games! The man spider was the worst of all! Great video!!!! :D
The Laughing Killer would be so scary! Imagine walking into a new room to hear nothing but a low chuckling laugh! Make this enemy a jump-scare type enemy and damn i would shit my pants!
the laugher , spider, and camouflaging zombies are AMAZING!
The monkeys in RE:0 always freaked me out because they reminded me of that giant monkey in “the crate” off of Creepshow 2
Laughing killer, like za warudo 😂
The Grass Is Always Greener on the Other Side, as for those cancelled creatures.
Yet another great RE video series. You are on a roll!
As dope as the Hunter Gammas are, the "zombie wild cats" do look horrifying. And that man-spider is pure nightmare fuel. Especially for those people who are already bug-phobic 😳😂
I hope one day in the next resident evil storylines they will be able to have a tamed friendly B.O.W that you develop a relationship with it and helps the protagonist, but umbrella eventually injects it with a virus bringing out its killer instinct to kill all around making it a final boss.
fucking gold
Shayne Persad so steve from code veronica?
Azinye Fantasy No Steve Burnside was never a B.O.W to begin with, im talking about having a relationship with a Tamed B.O.W. , if you saw what I previously typed I said a friendly B.O.W that was tamed, Steve Burnside was forcefully injected with the T-Veronica Virus he wasn't a B.O.W that was tamed.
First B.O.W protagonist.
The transforming creature is the best one
Yeah I will love to see it in the game
Omg imagine man-spider in remake. Dear god the detail, the hair, the eyes, the man.... Well I wasn't tired anyway. Need coffee... lots of coffee.
Technically the zombie wild cat did appear. Just in Outbreak.
I hope they remake Resident Evil 0 one day. The prototype is very interesting.
The Man-Spider looks like it’d be a pain in the ass to fight
