  • Will I buy another Abarth 595? The F595 is abarths latest addition to its range. So what is the new Abarth F595? The F595 runs the Abarth F.4 engine from the formula italia race car however when you strip back the marketing this engine is the 1.4 t jet found in the road car. The new abarth F595 is designed and tailored to the younger driver wanting the sporty feel but without the costs of insurance premiums. The Abarth F595 runs 165BHP same as the turismo. The car starts from £20300 and things such as sabelt seats, Koni FSD dampers are all found in the new Abarth F595. What do you think of the new abarth F595?

I've had an Abarth 595 Turismo a few years ago. The main drawback were the seats.
The Sabelt seats are much better (then I've had them in my 695 Biposto).
In my opinion you need 180 hp or more to fully enjoy an Abarth, even if the Abarth 595 with 165 hp is already a fun car.
The next Abarth electric? Why not, but an Abarth without any exhaust, no sound, it's difficult to imagine.

So true, I had a Biposto from new, for track days, sold this year, and the Sabelt driver's seat bolster come away Three times now have a Turismo with leather seats much more comfortable, (no more track days ) All the best Jerry

I have had my 595 comp for almost 8 years. I can never imagine selling it. Yes, they are compromised in many ways but always makes up for it in fun factor alone. Sometimes that's just way more important than other factors.

I think what this channel needs is a project series. I’ve just bought an Abarth 595. Great fun little car and this channel has been great (especially the meet up events) at helping me plan my mods etc. I think you should buy a slightly older Abarth either S3/S4 and do a series of upgrades both visually and performance wise. Then show it off at all the meets in the summer. Perfect time to work on one now over winter.

The seating position is high for a reason. They were originally designed as a city car, for better visibility around European streets. To be fare the first original design was done and put into production in 4 weeks. We have 3 of these in our family, an abarth a sport and a lounge. I’ve been in haulage for 35 years, 24 years on heavy haulage so blind spots are the no1 danger. After working getting into one of these is fun, they remind me of the old original mini’s we used to have for fun. And I like that you can pretty much build any car you want out of a 500 nearly everything is interchangeable. Great vids on these cheers for sharing, have fun because at least fiat kept the retro feel and fun part. 👍🏻

Question - you mentioned in your videos that the new Record Monza is vacuum based and the plug has to be unplugged from under the hood to make it open at all times. I did that and while it does seem to work the treat I think I can hear the car doing something strange when it's idling. It seems like the exhaust valve is clicking by itself when the car is stationary and the engine is on idle (warm engine) and there is a bit of fluctuation in the revs at idle too... Does the car have to be in SPORT mode to make this go away? (I think it was on normal when I parked it on idle and went out to listen). This does not happen with the plug connected - then the car idles evenly and loud in SPORT mode without the clicks of the valve.

Absolutely!!! I owned a 2006 Punto (not Abarth) but they weren't available in Australia. But it was still awesome car as the TDI. Good power stock as a city car but obviously better with more, can carry 4 adults ok, with luggage, comfortable and better for longer drives, awesome steering, lots of mod cons etc. So the Abarth version must be awesome! I would have bought one instead of a 595 if they were available here (not that I regret my 595 though!!).

I had 4 Abarths and the reason we changed was that we needed a bigger 5 door car
If we didn't need such a big car, I'd think about it.
I nearly put an order in for a Rally Blue Comp....
    It was just too tiny!
Like you, I love them, they make me smile just looking at one.
Steff, I also share your frustration with the new editions, that are largely the same...
I have come to terms with the fact that the next car will either be hybrid or electric, it has to be Italian, so a Abarth 500e could be the answer, I'd like to see what they do with it.

I have had two American spec Abarths. One stock, one on a Phase 3 tune, stuffed 1445+, catless, 2.5" open exhaust, hot coils, Forge WGA and atmospheric BOV. On E85 tune up was probably about 240 whp. BOTH Abarths burned exhaust valves. They are fun and I like the size but the quality is ABYSMAL and working in them is illogical. I really like driving the modded one as it had a Sparco fixed back bucket, quick release Momo wheel (many of them), CAE shifter, full gauge package, 6 qt aftermarket oil pan, Forge oil cooler, Forge FMIC but I can't deal with the horrible reliability and the illogical way they designed them. I moved to a Civic Type R and while not as "raw" as my modded Abarth, it is quicker, FAR FAR better handling, better brakes (even though my Abarth had a full 6 piston F/Single piston rear Wilwood setup) and quality on a another level. The only thing I DON'T like about the CTR is the size and weight when compared to the Abarth. I am now looking at getting into the FL5 (2023+) CTR within the next year. In the States, we only got Abarths until 2019 and in stock form they are slow and FLOATY but still fun.

Stef, I love every video you make. I recently purchased at auction a 2013 Abarth with the EU upgrade for around 11,000 American dollars. I did have to remove the exhaust dampener because it was full of asbestos. However, this car must have sat in storage for years. I was able to drive it home but shortly after every plastic part disintegrated. Clutch, Throttle, Fuse casings.....It has 143 fuses through-out the car. It starts every now and then (I'm assuming just to keep my hopes up) all the electronics work (also differently every time I start her up) My question is how, from an experts point of view, can you guide me to having a completely working Abarth again.
Please help. I think to myself, "Is it one thing, something simple or is it a sequential number of events that may be too big for me?"
The whole reason I purchased my Abarth was to work on her myself, learn every single aspect and be able to upgrade and personalize her money willing.

Hi Stef, enjoy your channel but can you or one of your viewers give me a pointer. I drove a 595 Trofeo today. I’ve been looking for an Abarth for a while and this version with 158bhp and a Monza exhaust seemed a good option. But I was so disappointed. First, tiny seats that seem to have bolsters under your bum (and I’m pretty slim), not much ‘noise’ and certainly no pops from the exhaust. Sport mode not very impressive. I pressed the button and realised it was already in Sport mode. So, is it worth me going for a Comp and getting better seats, will that cure it? I’m really just a bit sad about it this evening.

    • @StefABtv
      @StefABtv  Год назад

Hey man, the comp is the better car for sure. The issue with the sound is with all the new emissions and euro standards. The exhaust is linked to a vacuum that opens up at certain RPM. You can unplug that solenoid (it’s in the engine bay) and it will leave the exhaust flaps open all the time. Pops and bangs are few and far between on newer models and really to get the most out of them they will need a remap. I would drive a 595 comp and see how it feels.
