I started to think my jaw misalignment was ths reason for TN. Since I never had a concussion and I dont have MS, as stated the biggest reasons for the condition to come upon patients. I then felt as if my epilepsy started it, but my neurologist had told me no it doesnt. But about 2 years ago I started to think about my teeth being misbalanced, since now I literally have a slight lisp. Never had that before, I seriously feel this is the cause of it but I would like to know the correlation of that to the nerves in my brain. I have had an MRI, 2 actually, that showed no type of artery touching the nerve. So I was told that I wouldn't be a candidate for the MVD surgery. As I bite down on like a sandwich or pizza, the bite isnt effective to rip it off for me to chew, so usually I tear it with my fingers.
I AM SUFFERING WITH TN. I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL I JUST GOT DIAGNOSED I GOT FROM A DENTIST THAT DID NOT WHAT THEY WERE DOING I HAD IT FOR 19 YEARS BUT I DID NOT KNOW WHAT IT WAS UNTIL I SEEN A VIDEO ON RUclips IT THE TEN WORST PAIN TO MEN
Hi I’m currently in the uk and would like to book an appointment to come to the US and visit yourself. I’ve watched quite a few videos that you’ve posted and feel like you could definitely help me, Please could you point me in the right direction to get into contact with yourself? Thanks Dr!
Dear Dr. Sutter, i am from Cyprus, my sister who has been enduring severe chronic facial pain for the past three years. Despite numerous medical consultations and even an MVD surgery in Germany, her discomfort persists, significantly impacting her quality of life. She's a single mother with an autistic child, and the ongoing pain has taken a toll on her mental and physical health. Having come across your expertise in Disclusion Time Reduction (DTR) therapy, I am keen on exploring this as a potential solution to alleviate her suffering. She is unable to travel that far in her condition, i cannot find this method here , what can we do ?
How do you know when this will help TN? I just got diagnosed with TN, and it is more mild for now, but slowly gets worse and worse. I got an MRI showing I have an artery on both sides of my head touching my trigeminal nerves, which seems to be the classic cause, but I’m wondering if correcting my bite would actually help me. I did have TMJ pain last year or so that I got the bite testing done for, and was about to schedule to get it corrected, but then was told the cost and cancelled. Now I have TN pain this year after having a baby and don’t want to take anticonvulsants for it until my baby is weaned, so I’m suffering through the pain a few more months. Maybe it isn’t necessary though, and I should reconsider fixing my bite? I had had braces before like 15yrs ago, but my teeth have slightly moved. Could that slight change cause all this pain?
@@DrBenSutterEugene Might be worth a shot…my dentist that was doing the occlusion testing also does braces and such, and I think he might’ve mentioned doing that if I didn’t want to shave them down but I don’t remember. Probably was way more cost so I dismissed it from my mind at the time haha. Funny how perspective changes when you get more pain. 🤪🫣
@@puddincakes1005 absolutely it can, but Invisalign makes straight teeth. It DOES NOT BALANCE YOUR BITE! There in lies the difference between the 2 procedures. Best of luck!
Hi Dr, what exactly is DTR treatment? Is it a splint? What do you think about getting jaw expansion first with soemthing like MSE expander and then using DTR therapy? I have a narrow jaw which makes me clench at night due to airway blockage so would widening arch need to be done first? Thank you !
South Bend Indiana is the closest, there are 3 ladies, same office that are all certified. Bottom of the page www.digitalocclusionseminars.com/dtr-providers.html Also Bonni Boone Wong, I just dont have her photo yet
Absolutely not. however Burketts Oral Medicine states that only accounts for 10% of the cases, the remaining 90% are idiopathic in nature. The concern is treating 100% of the patients with the MVD that makes up 10% of the cases. My hope in the videos is that people start with the most conservative treatment and work backwards. Many people have had multiple MVDs only for the pain to return... because that was not the source of the pain. Hope that helps
A question… You use the “ T-Scan Digital Occlusal Analysis System” system to analyze the bite of your teeth. I understand all of that. But, what are those electrodes that are attached to both sides of the head?
I'm so happy for Kevin no one deserves such pain

an excellent chance you bite is off if mastication is not effective

Thanks for the list. I see 3 near my home in Ohio.
Can you help with atypical trigeminal neuralgia? I have constant pain in many of my gums.

@@DrBenSutterEugene Interesting, I’ll have to look into it again…can getting Invisalign instead of shaving teeth down work too?
@Puddin' Cakes it might make you better, might make you worse. Unfortunately ortho does not measure occlusion.

Can you tell me what the cost of this treatment is?
I have dental insurance but not aware if it will cover the costs.
Please advise.
4800.00 USD. No insurance will not help
