in Malekith's defense, he did open the negotiation by saying he was never much of a diplomat
1:15 for anyone interested
Which sounds pretty stupid considering he was some sort of a high elven ambassador to the dwarves before he went full darth vader.
@@Feltraz Well, technically yes. But when he first met the dwarves they couldn't understand each other and one of his lieutenants started learning dwarfs' language and acted as a translator. Malekith was invited for a feast in one of the holds, where he delivered a speech full of insults against the dwarves, who couldn't understand a word, but started cheering anyway, when they misinterpreted the elves laughing. And since no dwarf could speak elvish at the time, none of them was ever aware of this grudge.
"Your honor, my client DID say "Deadass"".
@@Feltraz A relationship he himself ended up ruining for centuries to come, so yeah, ever letting him in on diplomacy goes wrong.
People: CONFEDERATIONS OP, PLZ NERF!
Legend: *Casually starts the End Times just to save some grumpy dwarf* .
Yeah that was hilarious lol
Some people just want to watch the world burn.
People? You mean CA.
is this in his new stream?
@@EtheEvil Yes, it is in part 2.
Legend: telling you how to break the game when it isn't even available yet.
CA only has a day to patch this, though. So we probably still can lol. (Altho it likely takes 1-2 days for ppl to reach lategame, unless they just spam click end turn.)
@@Grivehn That honestly depends on how hard the bug is to fix. Sometimes it's litteraly as simple changing a single line of code
@@gwanael34 Tell that to CA who took like 4 months upping replenishment for Slaanesh and Tzeentch lol. Might take 5 seconds, but buerocracy adds 5 months on top of that.
@@Grivehn Note the "sometimes" part of my comment.
The CA designers who just finished the patching is tearing their hair out
"Me, I'm dishonest. And a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest. Honestly. It's the honest ones you want to watch out for, because you can never predict when they're going to do something incredibly... stupid."
- Captain Jack Sparrow, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
Strange oversight to ‘break military access’ without any actual diplomatic change happening. Def a cheesy source of gold that I assume will be patched ASAP. Gotta resist doing this in my own campaign tomorrow when I’m broke and losing lol
that is possible probably only in late midgame, endgame and you don't really need that money - the more gamebreaking effect is actually bankrupting those factions so they can be demolished easily by your allies
Definitely gonna use this to bankroll a shot ton assuming they don’t get it patched in time.
@@adamhenry3928 you cant bankrupt a faction less than 5k gold for more than one turn.
Not a strange oversight. Working in game dev I can assure you some QA found this and reported it, and some Dev looked at everything more critical they needed to get done and the (impossible to fix everything) timeline by the execs and decided to not spend the time on fixing it.
This is irrelevant. Just don't do it if it bothers you that much
Malekith needs to stop simping for ze laddy asap.
Settra have a 'resource hoarder' attribute, so that's why trade works differently with him. I think :D
He also likes you more the bigger you get unlike everyone else who hates to see the Empire thriving.
@@glassberg5018 All of Tomb Kings are like this. they don't give penalty the bigger you are, just checked some saves.
@@Sir_Crook that's "Power is everything" it negates the Greater power penalty.
When you live forever like the High Elves and Tomb Kings, 1 year is no different than 500 years
When you live almost forever like the Dwarfs, 1 year is no different than 500 years either
Who would have guessed High Elves have terrible memories?
forgiveness might be being smart as well :p
Meanwhile the dwarves have whole books dedicated to things that pisses them off.
Nkari and Slaanesh have been indulging the elves so much, they're in a state of euphoria, which causes them to forget everything...this makes sense
Emphasis on 'High'
LoTW's intimate knowledge with these games in incredible. I respect it.
I bet Tzeentch is taking notes right now.
By this point I’m certain that legend is actually Tzeentch playing with us mortals.
Me: Mom, I want plunge into anarchy
Mom: we got plunge into anarchy at home.
Plunge into anarchy at home:
Meanwhile the AI is sometimes just willing to break their own alliances completely for free, even if they dont like you... XD (At least that was the case at launch and to my knowledge they never changed it)
Playing as the demon prince at launch, I was off dealing with ordertide immediately and left the other chaos factions alone. Eventually I got big enough they banded together. Then I discovered I could just... 'nicely ask' the AI and get them to ditch some of their allies that they didnt really care about absolutely for free. Via this, I managed to get that giant chaos alliance to dissolve into.. chaos. With absolutely no repercussions for myself XD. A bunch of them ended up liking me more than each other by the end of this.
I had a similar experience with N'kari, got the elector counts to break their military alliances for free.
I had a mod that made order faction don't auto declare war on chaos faction, and Kostalyn was very happy to see Skarbrand obliterate his homeland as long as Queen Kataryn gets screwed, it was so cursed.
Malekith is gonna ask mommy to increase his allowance
For people who were wondering why CA did not implement diplomacy with clear measurable points for most of the franchise..........this is why.
I mean, they all work like this anyway. All this does it make it more obvious to the player.
Some of it is adding functions like buying provinces. But I think for fun I'd rather that feature was in. I find it annoying when military allies end up with stupid borders due to conquests.
because you have to do it properly and iron out some bugs?
the diplomacy system is neat and stuff, but its definitely not a very well done system.
That’s not really a good argument. I mean that’s something they can patch out I would wager fairly easily. Not being able to understand the diplomacy system or work toward a specific goal within that system is incredibly frustrating. It’s far more rewarding to be able to look at the system at play and try to pick and choose to make unique alliances. I mean the diplomacy system needs work as is. This just helps us see some other areas where it needs work.
hm at 15:34: baseline evaluation is +25 while relative faction strength is -3.5 and the trustworthiness of -311 but if youre fully reliable, that would suggest they would pay you money to break their own non-aggression pact..
Never trust vampires anyways, they die from the sun and garlic.
Not true! Vlad the Chad! Vladi Daddy!🤣
they don't die from garlic...since they have super noses they hate garlic smell.
@@cristianfatu2088 Vlad is outright immune, seeing how his nose fell off ages ago xD
i noticed also: if you threaten a faction that has the same allies as you and you go to war with him, the allies are not gonna go to war with you, so its an easy way to obliterate a pestering neighbor that its getting your territories.
Can you threaten them to accept a treaty they would normally accept without threat to lower reliability even more?
I've never actually used the threaten button so I have no idea how it works, but the tooltip says it lowers reliability and causes a war when they don't accept--so if they're going to accept anyway and you want lower reliability...
The more I think about this, the more I deperately want to know how Threaten mechanics work. Can you threaten someone while (say) GIVING THEM A GIFT of 1 gold? Is the acceptance or rjection of a Threatened action based only on relative strength, or also on the faction leader's attitude/your own reliability. If threats don't check reliability, is that a way to still do diplomacy after you deliberately tank reliability?
Most importantly, could you run a This Is Total War campaign where you beat a minor faction down to a single sacked settlement, Threaten them into taking your gold until you are at -500 reliability, then make EVERY FACTION FIGHT EVERY OTHER FACTION INCLUDING YOU THIS IS TOTAL WAR!!!!
Man, I wish I had the beta...
It was HILARIOUS yesterday during the Grombridal campaign... And it ALWAYS happen with YOU !
Sometimes I wonder...
I wonder if Vlad surviving with one settlement is just a coincidence, or Legend has somehow found a way to farm Isabella's trait and doesn't want to tell us yet :P
You can't get trait from her anymore, she is hero character now.
You can get her trait if you're playing a multiplayer campaign and some one is playing as Isabella, in that case Vlad is the hero.
TBH it's a little bit lore friendly that the ANTI-order factions like it when you F over order factions and that they rather have unreliability then reliability
When you're Tzeetnch without actually being Tzeentch
You can do the first thing in Troy too, with a vassal (such as Agamenon). However it tanks your relations pretty quick.
Αhh the cheese god is back with the infinite money! Great is your grace Legend of Total War!
"You can't trust your allies much further [after doing this]"
So what is the difference?
tzeentch: *single manly tear of incomprehensible madness*
16:09 Archaon calling a Bretonnian a simp. He's not wrong.
They do drink lady of the lake bath water
I hope this ends up being a legitimate strategy for Tretch
Yeah Tretch should get bonuses for breaking treaties lol
@@bigcat5348 I mean he does already, right?
Tretch's Immortal Empires glow-up is INSANE
He should have a fake moustache-crafting mechanic and you can only use the trick again after crafting a new fake moustache.
Way back when I use to play Civ 3, you could actually get the AI to just give away all their money and cities to you instantly. I'm not sure how exactly it worked, but basically if you made your request so outlandish, so ridiculously one-sided, their programming would bug out, and they would just capitulate and give you whatever you asked for.
So for instance, if I wanted all of England's cities, I would just ask them for 99999 gold + whatever cities I wanted, and they would just give them to me.
You're face in the live stream yesterday with the whole low reliability = +7
Legend found his own change of way, cheese God confirmed
It's really weird that Reliabilty restoration rate is one of the things CA did not give modders access to.
Legend of cheese at it again :) I, for one, will not use such tactics as I do not want to ruin the game for myself :D And I always have big questionmarks for people that do. What is the point of playing a game if you take away all the challanges? Might as well take a nap, will be more productive.
2:54 LoTW: The dwarves will never forget if you break a treaty with them
4:04 Dwarf is literally named "Grudgebearer"
I would love for the "threaten" option to make a return on the diplomacy screen, but this time actually doing something. Like that your threat is actually very powerful, if you are stronger than the faction you threaten, have low trustworthyness and actually followed up with consequences, if someone denied your demands after a previous threat.
I think the reason it works on the reliability side is because it's work as the ai seeing you as a warmonger so they see as going into the war for sure and the enemy as having to fight on 2 fronts thus weakening them
They should give tretch a trait where his reliability can’t go below very high no matter how much he breaks treaties and stuff.
"Reliability: Very High (for a Skaven)"
Can you do an integer overflow that your negative reliability becomes positive?
Finally the Tretch Craventail update looks fire
Man, Legend sounds so much more happier in vids than on streams. I understand now why he wants to retire
I mean come on man he has like 20000 hours in the warhammer games combined, he's been playing the games for like 8 hours or more a day since they were released, it's pretty much impossible not to get fed up with the game and depressed in general if you spend that much time on it
@White Fox toxic parts of fanbase
@@rinserofwinds and CA, his streams will be sorely missed but I respect his decision. Just hoping one day he returns, even if it's just once a week or two weeks
@@fedyx1544 getting paid to play warhammer even while being bored with it is still better than most other jobs though lol. i think he's more fed up with the his fanbase though. if you watch his streams, ppl ask some straight up retarded questions
@@iamdopeasfcuk well yes he's an online personality after all, playing games is the easy part, dealing with people is the hard part, that's just how his line of work is
Money is good for sure, but this works like a charm for Slaanesh Influence aswell, hella OP
Does the first method work in coop? Since you don't have any relations with your teammates, you don't loose any and always have your military alliance, right?
Tretch Craventail- Yes-Yes my time has come.
Does the negative reliability give possitive confederacy modifier ?
Thank you for this delicious cheese with no time left for ca to patch it by tomorrow :D
Tretch would love this video.
I'm really glad they give this content to people like you early on so this kind of fuckery in the oversights is fixed by the time we get our hands on it XD
This is starting to remind me of medieval 2 integer overflow days
Great, now I can play every faction like vampire counts :)
Tzeentch approves. Probably. Possibly. Maybe. Definitely. Yes.
This is both amazing and terrifying 😳
Bretonnia goes full Tzeench.
That was fun. Great find!
Legend is finally getting to roleplay his Skaven backstabbing silly diplomacy
I feel like Spiffing Brit is watching this excited.
6:40 "We're asking somebody that hates us to go to war with someone they have no idea of their existence. Typically speaking, that is just something that NO faction will ever accept."
Sounds like how the AI behaves on my Very Hard/Legendary campaigns. "United Against Us" by 10 different factions within the first few turns, even if they're on the other side of the map and not on good terms with the faction I'm actually at war with.
I appreciate bringing this bug to light, so it can be fixed.
But i dont get why anyone would want to use this, defeats the entire purpose of playing the game.
Its like using Trainers for hotkeys that give you infinite gold, invincible units etc.
I mean why turn the game into nothing but an auto clicker?
Malekith saying "I have never been much of a diplomat". He was literally Ulthuan's ambassador to the dwarves and was so good at his job, High King Snorri Whitebeard considered him one of his closest friends.
To be fair after his "retirement" the war of the beard happened... He was perhaps very good friends with Snorri, but he made dwarfs like him, not Elves as a whole... Which would be quite an achievment though, I agree, having your countrymen constantly insulting your allies while being absolute scatterbrains while you are trying to do diplomacy should be quite infuriating... Perhaps that's the real reason why he wanted to be Phoenix king...
The art of the deal.
Nice timing with this one. Hopefully it still makes it in the update!
Tretch Craventails Op confirmed right now now.
The Tretch Craventail Strategy
Perfectly balanced CA
This is the power of the dark side
This screams for a Tretch Craventail campaign ❤️
I think I get it...or I'm more confused now. One of the two
So on a completly unrelated side note, does the declare war on vassal exploit still work? :D
The moment he found this in last live stream is so fucking funny
It will be fun doing this as a Tretch
Sometimes the AI is giving you settlements for free too. It’s mostly newly occupied ones they never patched it
Settlement exchanging seems to behave SO strangely at times.
I remember a Daemons of Chaos campaign I did, I had pulled a random settlement from N'Kari, was going to lose it, so figured I'd just give it to Skarbrand, maybe get some money.
Skarbrand was willing to become my Vassal in exchange for a destroyed settlement in a province where he had nothing that N'Kari was like 2 turns aware from taking.
He did it again bois
This is peak diplomancy
I started a co op campaign with my friend and on turn 2 with nurgle I took all the money from a random beastmens herd with no military allies it just had a permanent 0.0 and let me take everything from him.
oh the forests still change to match the faction, that's nice
CA needs to make peace with Legend by asking him to voice Thanquol and Thanquol’s abilities need to be cheesy and fun!
Spiffing Brit video incoming!
It’s called just kill and take everyone over, easiest way to beat the game. Just pick your battles and you’re good. Being diplomatic in my opinion just bogs you down, especially when you play Empire, High elves, Dark Elves (Malekith), ect.. I’m not saying it’s not good to have trade but in the grand scheme you’ll need tons of settlements to spam out armies and survive the end game apocalypse.
Ordertide is just Warhammer's version of NATO
Wouldn't threatening in diplomacy be more efficient way to drop reliability?
It also puts you at war with the faction if they refuse.
How about canceling military access of your own subjects?🤔 Does it work the same as military alliances?
Legend of bug testing here
Skaven diplomacy in a nutshell
He’s done it again
On todays episode Legend gives a example how treaties caused WW1 using Total War.
And WWI was a total war.
"The dwarves never forget" Fuckin' dwarves. Always causing problems.
I saw a job offer from CA for a hitman, just posted... wonder if this video has anything to do with that...
a true reincarantion of Cao Cao in WH3
LegendofTotalDiplomacy XD
Let's not go to Brettonia, tis a silly place
So this is a buff for Tretch Craventail?
does the skaven weapon team doomstack still work in wh3?
Thanks for the video
I've been playing west cathay trying to confederate north cathay, and i noticed that i get +10ish for main threat as well. So does that mean this might work for confederations too? Or does reliability not factor for confederations at all? I cant check right now im at work.
I did end up getting the chance to check, sort of in immortal empires with n'kari. Seemingly the modifier for trustworthyness doesnt effect confederations at all.
Order tide op as ever
What a great game! This level of polish is what's going to keep people playing this game for years to come.
Useing this as slanesh in the realm of demons campaign is unbelievably broken
Warhammer: every mortal that wants to gain knowledge take notes from Tzeentch

can you break military access with vassals?
