Very nice mods. Nothing over the top, everything is practical. One of the nicest 10/22 setups Ive ever seen. Kudos to you sir.
WOW! Thanks so much for the complement! And thanks for watching.
Love your setup, I wasn’t sure at first about the takedown, but you sold me on it
I laminate color copies of my tax stamp as well, but I never thought to miniaturize them. Brilliant! Nice setup.
Ha! A little helpful hint I picked up from from the forums. It works great! Thanks for watching
If you get a stitch ripper and remove the seam that creates two pockets on one side you can fit your receiver with the scope mounted on standard rings, That's how I have mine set up.
+hazmatops Thats a pretty good idea! Thanks for sharing!
You can also do a scout rail on the barreled end and do away with quick release for scope.
People say you can't "sound black" but that timber and bass.... even if it is a southern or regional accent i could tell immediately that it was a chocolate man. Imma make mine into a baby ak
When you figure cost in the equation of a self defense weapon a 22 rifle is very tuff to beat. i know of people that have put ten rounds into a 175 lb whitetail before it moved and it dropped like a brick standing in the same spot. with the amount of ammo this dude has got i am sure he could be very effective protecting his family and himself. however this is all predicated on being sure the rifle is SUPER clean as 22 ammo can jam an action very quickly. i enjoyed the vid.
a little tip. before you drill and glue, put some tape around the area you're working on
"Drembling mines out...I mean dremmeling mines out" lmao.
Dude, I'm digging your mods, two thumbs up!
Thanks. Much appreciated!
Love my 10/22 takedown. Very fun to shoot. I like your setup. Great video.
Sweet ass kit! I've done some similar things with storing ammo and mags. Will look into you suppressor. Seems awesome. Thanks for your video, really enjoyed it.
Son! why is your channel not up to the roof yet? You make great content
That’s a nice setup there, I’ve been looking at purchasing a take down 10/22. I have the SR 22 already
Thank you. I really like how you’re running your 10-22 rig. I may very well set mine up the exact same way. Very good video. Good job
So, obviously your video is from a while back, but I just picked up a "new to me" 10/22 Takedown. The original owner made it look like some kind of assault weapon. I won't even get into that. But your video gave me some great input. So the mods I am planning on making will start with a new rail, that Simmons scope and the quick release. Had to order a new stock as well as the original has blade cuts in it. Don't ask.
Thanks for the video. Greatly appreciated
Bro, you should try buying paintball ammo tubes. It holds tons of ammo and fits nicely in the pouch...
Very nice mods. Vast improvement.
Thanks!
Really nice setup im grabbing my 1022TD tomorrow ive been scouring channel’s to see cool upgrades you have some nice ones!!
longdread575 awesome rifle very nice setup you have made some great mods and upgrades sweet sr22 good video and review thanks for sharing
Thanks!
Thats a really bad ass setup. Really inspiring!
Spammy Rock Thanks my dude!! I appreciate it
Nice set up I really like the ammo can idea. I just picked one up today also in stainless and I am very excited about the gun. Thanks for sharing
CharlieMic5 Thanks, I appreciate you watching! Enjoy the rifle.
Just got my 22 take down. I love your setup. when funds permit I will do the same thing. Once again great video and great gun setup!
VIJasMan Appreciate the words!! Thanks for watching
Was I the only one watching the mag at the end praying he would realize he put it in upside down?
Edit - The magazine is not upside down: Only my head.
Thanks for the reply, Longdread!
Umm.... Thats a Ruger BX 50 magazine. Basically 2 BX 25 mags molded together and you load the mags on both ends. Haha! But thanks for watching to the end!
@@longdread575outdoorculture Oooh! That's really cool!! I'm just getting started into guns for survival, and was thinking about picking up one of these guns and loved seeing all the things that you were able to put on it. That's 100% my bad though!
With everything you have in your bag, may I ask what is your total weight of bag, gun, and all the accessories? Cool looking setup love your video and your explanations of why and how you managed this package. Thanks
Absolutely an awesome setup. Can't wait to copy it!
HA!! Flattery will get you everywhere!!! Thanks for watching.
nice i bought the 10/22 magpul backpacker, had to buy a bag.you gave me a great idea by putting a 22lr pistol in the bag, good video, thanks
Nice setup, bro!. Excellent vid.
I added the Kids bolt buffer, it made my 10/22 much quieter. I also found the Ruger BX trigger to be a easy upgrade. You have a sweet set up
Thanks, Yep the bolt buffer quiets the action down a lot. I have one also. Have also upgraded to the BX Trigger. Thanks for watching!
Great setup bro 👍
Very utilitarian indeed. Nice job. Cheers!
Sweet kit! Really clean set up. Good job. You should get a nice knife and a flash light.
Thanks for watching! Good idea. I do always keep a Kershaw and a flashlight on me as part of my EDC, but thats a good idea to keep in the bag also.
Some info on bipod mounting? Mounted directly to the forearm? Swivel stud installed first? A rail install?
Very nice. I have the same model. I am very happy with it . Your setup gets the most from it. Thank you
Thanks, I still have few more upgrades I would like to do to it but it performs great whenever I have a chance to get it out to the range. Thanks for watching.
Nice job man.
God Bless and Merry Christmas
With the mag pull take down stock you should be able to store two Ruger 10/22s,
Such a sweet gun bro, I actually heard of the Simmons scope because of you lol and i ended up purchasing the scope. I havent got my Takedown yet but i will in 2 weeks!! and my bro lives up north in Washington so he has a few BX-25's hes going to hand down to me. cant wait!! God bless and take care!
2 Weeks!! A great after Christmas gift ..... This is a great scope for this rig, IMO. It still holds its zero everytime I take it out! I am completely happy with it, I hope you will be also. FYI: Ruger is dropping another trigger group aimed at the aftermarket triggers on the market Friday (12/19/14) I believe for under $90 bucks. I will be picking one up to try out on this rifle!!
great idea with bullet storage, gonna have to incorporate it into my new takedown
Also a good idea on the right side I removed the stitching and I now hav to huge pockets on the Rugar bag
I like your 10/22. I want to put a tripod-like yours. Which brand did you purchase and where did you purchase it?
Very nice set. Pistol and Rifle. It’s a must have.
You were very smart doing the bolt release mod yourself. There is nothing to it but I didn't know that before I paid Volquartsen too much money for such a simple mod. Great video with good ideas and pleasant presentation. I would like more info on that quick detach scope mount...what brand and where did you get it. Thanks!
Great vid! Just picked up mine as Love it! Thanks for the info!
this is exactly how I'm goin to set up my 10 22.
although im going to get the one with the flash suppressor on it already.
LOL! Glad I can be a little inspiration. Have fun with your 10/22, they are some fun rifles. Thanks for watching.
longdread575
Btw I saw some tapco products for the 10/22 takedown. I think you should take a look at that.
@@longdread575outdoorculture Great video. Thanks for this.
Tks for the video. I was on the fence about getting a takedown. But now I will be getting one!
+CPHNL ITs a great plinker! You wont regret it! Thanks for watching
Love my take down. Yours lookin good. Tandemkross got nice upgrades. And sr22 as well. Weird thougj my scope fits in i like how yours quick realise though
Ruger needs to offer a bull target barrel for the take down that you can also fit in your bag. Yes I would buy it to add to my setup if you were wondering.
You did a great job! Thanks for the great info!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lee Smith Thanks for watchin!
Nice set up. Well done
I really like it I’m running mine with a red dot works amazing for quick shots
Man I like your style. Great gun, mods, and presentation. Thank you sir.
Ha! Thank you , I appreciate you watching!
nice job all the way around!! watching from Chengdu China. very thoughtful!!! Great project!!
Thanks so much!
Sweeeet!
Sweet set-up! Only thing I could think to add would be some type of cleaning kit, Otis or something similar, including a small screwdriver and/or allen wrenches. I was at a range last year and had my scope come loose and nothing to tighten it with. Wasted about 50 rounds before I figured out why I couldn't even get on the paper at 25 yards. I had a screwdriver but no allen wrenches, which is what I needed. Won't make that mistake again. Thanks for sharing your set-up, hope to get my own real soon!
John Archer Great ideas, Will definitely look into it. 22lr ammo is filthy, definately could use at least a cleaning kit.
That's a nice setup I like that stainless steel I like that scope
Takedown model has accuracy problem because of broken body.
If you want it to be accurate, use only basic sight.
That is SO FUNNY - I keep my SR22 there too lol
Very well done. I like your gun.
Very nice my friend. Just picked up a new 1022 take down yesterday. Thanks for a nice video.
Thanks for watching. I hope you can find some ammo to feed that rig too.
Nice package ! Enjoy your hobby.
Edward Price Thanks!!
Subscribed ! Awesome vid
Thanks a lot! Much appreciated
That tri-mag adapter is a must have. They're excellent
Indeed, I find myself using the 10 rounders in the tri mag much more than the BX-15 or 25 round mags. I can load up different 22lr ammo and see which gives me the best group for the day! 10 rounders on a tri mag FTW!!!! Thanks for watching!!
I am impressed. You are well protected. Didyou have to wait long for your stamp for the suppresser.
Thanks for watching. The suppressor process took about 9 months at that time.
Josh, that may be true. But, I would not want to be shot w/10-22 The AR is only 50plus grain round too. I've never owned a 10-22, but plan to buy one soon. Range over 1 mile? I guess being shot w/22cal is like a body punch, it's money in the bank. ya know what I mean?
Sweet little rig! And thanks for the great video.
Like your style...all the add ons work together to make a really handsome .22 tack driver.
I'm purchasing a break down this week for my own fun.
I love the bipod, the 10round tri clip...and the quick release scope mount. it...where did you find them? Web searches are becoming a pain with all the garbage out there.
The Ruger bag is really nice. I'm hoping the larger outer pouch will accept my CZ 75 P01 TACTICAL so I can carry just the one bag to the range or field.
Cheers
John
+John Bobrink I got the Scope mount and the Bi pod from Amazon some time ago. Champion Bi Pod and NcStar AR15 QR Weaver Mount/Cantilever Scope Mount Rear Ring/30mm and 1-Inch Inserts. Thanks for watching!
Great job, just ordered mine. Can't wait.
Appreciate it! I should be doing an update on this rifle really soon! THanks for watching
nice. just bought my second 10/22 . This one is the multicam Takedown.. Wish we were allowed supressors, and 25 round mags here . (NY) . Not that we don't have them , but their illegal. Now, I will start buying the mini 14 and 30 . I have 5000 rounds...may as well. Good vid. I subbed.
Its 5.56:00 somewhere If you can, get to a free state ASAP!! Sorry to hear. Thanks for the sub!!
Holy shit, dude! I love that whole set up 😍
+Jeffrey Carpenter Thanks my dude! I appreciate you watching!!
Awesome set up! The last gun in going to get for my gun family is the 10/22! I also want to get the bag verses the hard case! Thanks for the awesome ideas 👍🏻
+tyler ortiz Thanks for watching!! There are also a few aftermarket bags out there so I wouldnt get caught up on the Ruger bag. Its a great rifle non the less!!
Great package my friend! TY for sharing. We cannot get suppressors in Canada or BX-25 mags because Ruger advertised them for handguns...dumb asses! I like your Bipod setup and scope. I hope to get mine this year. The only thing I would add would be a sling. Great video and again TY for sharing.
Yes that sucks!! If there is a bright side ..... You guys can find 22lr ammo on the shelves right now! HAHAHA!! Thanks for watching
Dude laminating the tax stamps and shrinking them down is a great idea man! I'll be using that one bro!
+Lou G Take it..... I borrowed it from someone else! Just make sure its not the originals.
That there is the baddest 10/22 in all of the land LMFAO
I know this is an older post... just bought one of these puppies. Great setup.
Anything you’d change, or have changed since? Apologies if you’ve done another vid. ✌️
Yes this video is a bit old. I dont even use this channel much anymore. This rifle is completely re done with Magpul Hunter stock and much better Nikon 22lr Specific Scope. I love the hunter stock setups so much I have converted my Charger setup to a rifle with a bull barrel that I bought used from a forum and another Hunter backpack stock.
Sorry to cut in but do you have a video for the new mods you made? What’s your new channel?
@@longdread575outdoorculture Also where did you buy the patches?
I like your set up man, very simple not to much going on. I have a first aid kit on the front of mine. They teach you in the military that the first aid kit is one of your most important tools you can have. Just a suggestion for you bud.
Great point on the IFAK! I have recently upgraded the stock to the Magpul Backpacker stock and it packs up even better in the bag leaving me more room in the right sade of the bag. So I added another racketball container like what I use for the ammo and made it into my Ifak for this particular loadout! Great minds think alike I guess!! Thanks for watching!
Those are some nice mods to your 10/22 Take Down. I went ahead and purchased a Kidd Bolt Release and Long Mag Release (got the wrong one so I have to exchange it). Mine is the Tactical version so it has a flash suppressor on it so it's already threaded.. Mods I plan on doing in the future:
1: Sanding down the over paint in the top of the lower receiver
2: Getting an ATI Scorpion with the six position stock that also side folds and cutting it to fit the Take Down.
3: Getting an NFA Trust set up so I can get a suppressor for my Take Down and also one for my Ruger SR22 (which came with a threaded barrel from Ruger).
4: Add a light, sling, Vortex Strikefire Red Dot sight, and a bipod and I think it'll be ready for just about anything I need it for.
But, I specifically want it and the Ruger SR22 to be my car guns. At least until I can afford the Keltec Sub2000 9mm in Glock mags to go with the Glock 17, 19, and 26 set I want to get.
Anyways, great video. You definitely gave me some good ideas. My only recommendation is that you get a second suppressor for your Ruger SR22. Good luck.
Oh yeah, I subbed.
WOW! where do I start! LOL.
1 - The bolt release is the best mod of any for the 10/22 IMO!
2 - I love the idea of a side folding stock!
3 - +1 on the trust, way better than the individual NFA procedure.
4- Watch out for the factory threaded barrels and suppressors, some have reported they are not concentric to the bore and have been known to cause end cap strikes. Havent had this experience myself, second hand info!
5 - Good move on the Keltec Sub2k, I have the glock 17 and glock 22 versions. They are great Pistol Caliber Carbines (videos coming soon!) . Plus Im a glock fan boy so you definitely got my attention there!
6- My truck gun is a PAP M92 with a sig 47 brace on it, fits perfectly in a hidden compartment!
*** 2nd 22lr suppressor for SR22 video right here! Check it out! Huntertown Arms B22 Suppressor
Thanks so much for watching and commenting! I hope you make a video for it, would love to see the mods. Also thanks for the Sub. I subbed back!
I forgot to mention that I also installed a Kidd bolt handle and spring set. It's pretty awesome. I'm thinking seriously about getting the Kidd bolt too but, that's not a necessity.
I've been also thinking about modding the bag a bit as well. Maybe see about putting some moly straps over the Ruger logo and maybe up the non-zippered side. We'll just have to wait and see. Thanks for the sub.
Also, take a look at this rollup case. Purty neat. facebook.com/Rollupcase
What are the containers that you are storing your ammunition in and where did you get them? Also, who cut, threaded and recrowned your barrel? Once again, love your set up...Rifle, pistol and all.
They are Racquetball containers from Walmart. I sent the barrel out to be threaded at jpgrips.com/ Thanks again!!
Thank you..."Racquetball Containers", perfect! I'll check out jpgrips.com
One modification I made when I first bought my 1022 was, I found of the original stock to be very very short, almost to be youth sized stock, I forgot the brand name, but I bought a scout stock with adjustable butt end and really allows me to use my arm length.
The scout stock I have has a reversible piece in the center, bottom forward stock grip with a rail so I can hide the rail by flipping this piece. I have a bipod and vertical grip that fit easily together on the reversible rail system.
BUT in the mail, I have a vert grip with built in stowable bipod.
As you, I have to remove my optics, a .22 scope, and a reflex sight on a 45 degree rail piece.
I also found the clear 10 round banana clips misfeed rounds occasionally..
william settle Sounds like you getting get your rifle right!! I used to use aftermarket 10/22 mags. None are as reliable as Ruger BX-25 mag though. I sold or traded all my other mag when the BX25 was introduced and havent looked back since.
since my first comment, i found a ruger bx-trigger for about $90.
as sold, the trigger is crisp but very heavy pull. the bx-trigger action is awesome. its easily half the weight pull of the original trigger.
the original trigger is, i believe 6 lbs.
the bx trigger is 3lbs.
I hear a lot of good things about the BX Trigger! It is definitely on my short list!
I HIGHLY recommend it.
drops right in like the normal trigger assembly.
just becareful, it has pins that will slide right out just like the original..
LOL! Loose pins ..... Just like the original!
Sweet set up really enjoyed it. Who makes that quick detach mount where did get it?.
Here is the the model ..... NcStar AR15 QR Weaver Mount/Cantilever Scope Mount Rear Ring/30mm and 1-Inch Inserts. Thanks for watching!!
Made a small bob outa mine goes everywhere I go, nice job
Looks great!
Dope video man. I just got the same model gun and this really helped me figure out how to configure it and store ammo in the bag. And let me say, you're system is better than mine bruh haha thumbs up from me.
That is a pretty sweet rig.
Thanks my dude! Appreciate you watching.
just got my 10/22 breakdown and now my tongue is hanging out - again !!!
Excellent display! I also enjoy your video's on another subject too...
+Ronin1628 Well thanks! I appreciate you stopping through and looking around!!
Like your wonderful thought out setup, how about a video of you shooting this machine!
Thanks for watching. I will get more shooting vids up hopefully in the future.
awesome video. the only thing about the package I don't like is the ruger logo but I would just sew on a Velcro border around it so I could throw a patch over it.
awesome vid dude!
Thanks for watching and thanks for the sub!
longdread575 The Bipod is a Champion Bi-Pod (6 - 9-Inch)
That's a nice Shorty get-up!
Thanks!!
awesome bro! great job for sure.
+wilf williams Appreciate it! Thanks for watching
Cool video.....have you done any new upgrades since this video?
This rifle is completely different from 6yrs ago. I have changed the stock to a Magpul backpacker stock new optics - Primary Arms 22lr optic. And a few other tweaks and changes.
Never seen that 25 X 2 Mag. That was pretty neat. Gonna have to get me a couple of those. I just tape or Ranger Band mine together.
Great set up. Than ks for sharing it. I have a take down being shipped to me. Have you ever had your form 4 checked by anyone?
great vid and set up
Appreciate it! Thanks for watching!!
Where'd you get those clear containers you have the ammo? Those fit perfectly. I've been using 1 gallon freezer bags for ammo, mainly because they flex and form, allowing me to put all kinds of stuff in the bag and then put the ammo in the awkward space left over, plus the bags are pretty strong.
quicksilver40 Walmart, Raquetball containers and goof off to get the labels and glue off. They cost like $3-4 bucks.
Excellent video, very informative, please make more!
Devin Heffelfinger I appreciate that! Thanks for watching
that has to be the best set up both bag and rifle I have seen for that model thanks for sharing.
+yohanson001 Thats a BIG statement!! I appreciate it my dude. Thanks for watching!
great set up. i have the same takedown model, but living out here in Cali i cant make mine as cool as yours :( cali sucks so bad for gun people, hoping things change over here, and all through out america. would love to see some videos of you shooting that, to hear the sound through the silencer would be sweet.
So sorry for Cali having such miserable laws! I like Cali, I get out there every few years to visit my brother and his family, I hate to warn you but I dont think things will change in your state until you guys get better political representation. I thank you for watching, I will be revisiting this rifle soon - Suppresed and with a few more mods I have made too. Thanks for watching!
Sweet set up
Tim Thomas Appreciate it bruh! Thanks for watchin!!
I have the extended mag release!
btw: I envy your supressor setup! :-)
Thanks, I appreciate it.
What brand is the quick detach scope mount? Can you find it on Amazon and link it? Good Video and good mods! Thanks!
Here is the the model ..... NcStar AR15 QR Weaver Mount/Cantilever Scope Mount Rear Ring/30mm and 1-Inch Inserts. I got it for around 25 bucks!
Awesome set up, more than 1000 rnds excellent bag set-up, wish I could afford the Suppressor Tax, no ear plugs required.. Love it. ... Haven't read down below you may have answered but what is the Quick release Scope mount, who makes it and is it a Weaver or Pictany ? The bag is what 20" overall in height? Probably be able to attach it to a regular backpack and wouldn't hit the back of the head (it looks pretty short) Gonna watch again you may have answered some of those questions and I just missed it. Great Vid!
TMB247 THe QD mount is NcStar AR15 QR Weaver Mount/Cantilever Scope Mount Rear Ring/30mm and 1-Inch Inserts. Yes the bag is a little over 20" long. Just got new backstraps for it and I like it even more now. Thanks for watching and commenting!
