Our ancient Persian writings also indicate that Majai( Pir e Moghan) Moghai were Spritual advisers to the Kings, went from Persia to see baby, or child Jesus. And yes, two of them Aatabaai and Caspare were Persian. Historians are not sure about Belshezar or Belthezar. He could have been either from Yemen, or another land.

You just answered your own question my brother! Christmas was basically made up by the church to celebrate our Savior, but no one truly knows when Christ was born and honestly it doesn't matter! He acknowledges that we have made this season ABOUT HONORING HIM!! And to be thankful to Him and be joyful and giving to other's in the love of His name ❤ GOD IS ABSOLUTELY GOOD! Anything we do to show we love Him and are thankful for Him, I'm sure He loves it!

Another wake up call for you OUR LORD JESUS when HE was 21 years old HE traveled to the far East.
He was prepared by the Essene order.
This was all written in the bible
      however taking out the bible.
So much is distorted and rewritten from the bible.
13 years are missing from JESUS life in the bible.

One time I went to see this outdoor Christmas play. When they did the Magi scene they didn't have them in the stable worshipping a baby. Instead they had this little boy taking their gifts and giving them to his parents, Mary and Joseph. The funny thing was I thought it was one of Jesus' older brothers until I saw him riding on the donkey when they were leaving for Egypt.

Great teaching brother Brandon!! GLORY BE TO GOD that he came for ALL of us and we got in on the original covenant!! Let's face it "our Bible" is very much a mystery in itself, because alot of the Hebrew language cannot be translated into English. God and Jesus are VERY CLEAR not one of us can ever really understand it completely. Not to mention the mysteries therein, but it takes people like you and other's to seek them out! I think you gave a great explanation of how it probably happened! Thank you AGAIN for diving deeper for us and God bless you and yours 🙏❣

Brandon... What a interesting lesson this week. I realized more so after watching it again. To think of the magi traveling so far is amazing. Seems I might be reaching in my mind to an older movie about Christ. I remember a king telling the wise men, that when they found more about this to report back to him. But they ended up taking another way back, or something like that. This information on where the gifts they brought were from, or should I say where they weren't from is totally amazing. It is something for me to try and study. Facts being told that will change the way in which I have always thought about this. How interesting of a thought, wow ... Keep Standing young man ....

      Nameofmany--
You're quite likely thinking of "The Greatest Story Ever Told," a movie made about the life of Christ in 1965 with an all star cast.
Imagine Charlton Heston as John the Baptist, Claude Rains as Herod, David McCallum ("Ducky" on NCIS) as Judas, Telly Savalas as a Roman official, and you begin to get a feel for the scope of its imagination.
It's available on Roku right now, and I've been trying to get it watched for several weeks now, but I find myself having to keep starting over for various reasons.
Of course, there are some discrepancies from the actual scriptures, and in some respects it's almost comically dated, but at the same time, it really provides some fascinating visuals that make it truly that Greatest Story Ever Told.
Well worth the effort to access it, if you don't have Roku.

The reason the Magi are in traditional Nativity scenes is so their important story is not forgotten to be told. Tradition is they appeared 12 days after Our Lord's birth. Which is The feast of the Epiphany. 6th of January. It is why we have 12 days of Christmas. It is the day that the Christmas tree and decorations are supposed to come down. As books were very rare it was important to instruct the early Christians, they have done nothing wrong by including them in the Nativity scenes.

    Brandon,
I just discovered your presentations about a week ago--
can't recall how, but I praise the Lord that I did.
I don't even know where to begin with the ways I'm grateful for not just your incredible knowledge of the nuances of the scriptural languages,
and not just your profound enthusiasm for our Redeemer,
but also how you never fail to make it all personal as you wrap up each and every session.
I feel the Lord talking to me through you in a way I never have in 55+ years of church attendance, radio & TV preaching, and 11 years of church school--
in other words, exposure to the word of God 6 days a week for many, many years.
In fact, I like to say I've forgotten more about the Bible than most people will ever know.
But I've never understood it like you have helped me to do in this past week.
Through your explanations of the subtle differences between the original languages of scripture and the broad generalizations of English-- even with the best efforts of the theologians who translated the NIV, for example, I have gained a life changing understanding of Jesus' life, times, and ministry.
    Praise the Lord!
May God keep blessing you as you help prepare His children for His Son's soon return.
I'll be looking forward to meeting you in person in Heaven, where we can sit at His feet and spend eternity having those remaining mysteries cleared up!

The shepherds you refer to were Levitical Shepherds that were in charge and trained to raise and care for sacrificial lambs. Sacrificial lambs had to be “spotless and without blemish.” They required special treatment and observing. Jesus was born in the same cave reserved for the “sacrificial lamb”. These shepherds were special. Not unclean.

We assume that there were three wise men because of the three gifts that were given: gold, frankincense, and myrrh (Matthew 2:11). However, the Bible does not say there were only three wise men. There could have been many more. Tradition says that there were three and that their names were Gaspar, Melchior, and Balthasar, but since the Bible does not say, we have no way of knowing whether the tradition is accurate.
It is a common misconception that the wise men visited Jesus at the stable on the night of His birth. In fact, the wise men came days, months, or possibly even years later. That is why Matthew 2:11 says the WISE MEN visited and worshiped Jesus in a HOUSE, not at the stable.
We know that the magi were wise men from "the East," most likely Persia, or modern-day Iran. This means the wise men traveled 800 to 900 miles to see the Christ child. Most likely, the magi knew of the writings of the prophet Daniel, who in time past had been the chief of the court seers in Persia. Daniel 9:24-27 includes a prophecy which gives a timeline for the birth of the Messiah. Also, the magi may have been aware of the prophecy of Balaam (who was from the town of Pethor on the Euphrates River near Persia) in Numbers 24:17. Balaam's prophecy specifically mentions a “star coming out of Jacob.”
The wise men were guided to look for the King of the Jews by a miraculous stellar event, the “Star of Bethlehem,” which they called “His star” (Matthew 2:2). They came to Jerusalem and asked concerning the birth of Christ, and they were directed to Bethlehem (Matthew 2:4-8). They followed God’s guidance joyfully (Matthew 2:10). When they arrived in Bethlehem, they gave costly gifts to Jesus and worshiped Him. God warned them in a dream against returning to Herod, so, in defiance of the king, they left Judea by another route (Matthew 2:12).
So, the magi were men who 1) read and believed God's Word, 2) sought Jesus, 3) recognized the worth of Christ, 4) humbled themselves to worship Jesus, and 5) obeyed God rather than man. They were truly wise men!

That's awesome. My pastors sermon this week brought home the correlation that sometimes as Christians we are so busy protecting the religion, or traditions of, that we close the door on outsiders and their input. Often it's the outsiders that are following God's words. Literally. Harrod was shocked. The pharasei in disbelief. The "magi" whoever they may have been totally got it. And were willing to travel 1000k on foot to find The King of the Jews.

According to the wtitings, Jesus was not born in the stable or barn. Presumably the place was the house of Joseph's relatives and at that time the animal shelter was part of the house. And, from the point of Jewish purity rules, it was desirable that the childbirth took place in an animal shelter for ritual impurity and not in a guest room among the guests.

@@danielmalinen6337 ~ I have read that before and it makes sense to me. It is also possible that it took the magi a considerable amount of time to find the baby. God could certainly arrange their departure months or ‘years’ BEFORE the advent to coincide for His birth. The fact that the people left after registration could also mean they were ‘moved’ into a ‘house’ After registered people left for their home town. Now we do know that Joseph & Mary had to stay ‘long enough’ to dedicate the baby (& I think that happens around 8 days old)?? The other thing about the birth coinciding with the magi arrival is the timing of the shepherds. We know Herod had spies everywhere. It seems unlikely to me that the shepherds would witness the birth and KEEP THE EVENT TO THEMSELVES🤔. They noised it in their region. Doesn’t seem likely that Herod wouldn’t know about it for months to years later???? [but of course, all males were killed in the story of Moses, but God hid him, right in front of the enemy]. So, there’s that.
The only thing that I can’t line up is what is being said about the ‘choice’ of words.
If paidion Only means young child and
      Brephos ONLY means infant…. 🤔
Then what is mentioned in the narrative has to be true??? I’m a bit of a Berean, so I’m still studying this.🧐

It took the Maggi over 1 year to two years to reach Jerusalem from “ the east” . For Herod was “ diligent” in asking when they First saw the star”
By that reckoning he killed all who were two years and under .
It was therefore NOT Persia albeit they were gentiles . So where were they from that took nigh on two years 18 months plus to reach Jerusalem .They did not follow the star tomJerusalem they assumed the King of the King of the Jews would be found in a palace .
It is interesting to note that it was gentiles at his birth and a gentile at his death that recognised him as King if the Jews . ( Pilate)

I was a young teen when I learned that Jesus was most likely around one year old when the Magi visited Him. Therefore, when setting up the nativity scene that first year, I placed the Magi quite a bit away from the manger. When my Mother asked me why I did that, I simply said that "they weren't there yet, but on their way". Needless to say, my Mother was pleased that I was paying attention in church. I've set up the nativity like that, ever since.

Thank you Brandon for another wonderful teaching of the life of our Lord. I LOVE the Nativity, so this series you have done on this story has been terrific to learn more, and other facts most of us were unaware of. Yes, I have heard that the Magi didn't arrive until Jesus was older not an infant, In any case, it is still part of our faith, and the greatest story every told. God Bless You.

The census is a key to the birth year of Jesus. While we have no record of a census in the time frame, there is a reason Augustus would have required one, and that is the 750th anniversary of the founding of Rome, a date that I've been told several ancient writers place about 751--753 BC. If so then it makes sense to me that Augustus would want a census to learn how many people were in his Empire on this historical 750 anniversary. The USA celebrated its 200th founding in my lifetime, and if it lasts to its 750th maybe there will be a census, too.

The trail of errors will lead many people away from Yahusha until teachers like yourself open their eyes. I've been dismantling these kind of strongholds for 37+ years, and it began with a 30-minute meeting with my Christian pastor at the time. Yahusha said, "I am the Vine; you are the Natsarim." He never called His followers Xpistianos (cretins, idiots), but the people of Antioch did call us that.

I concur with your thinking. I believe there could have been as many as several dozen Magi, each with his own servants and most likely a detachment of Idumaean Cavalry hired to protect their caravan. When they left the Mesopotamian Valley it would have been a notable event. I base my assumptions on several events that have been recorded in secular history when the Magi performed similar excursions. We do not know the calculations that had enabled the Magi to determine the time of the birth of our Lord. But history does record other such events surrounding this ability of the Magi. Seneca wrote of the Magi coming to Athens shortly after the death of Plato to mourn him and Cicero records a similar event of the Magi announcing the birth of Alexander the Great on the night that he was born. It is not hard to imagine that these Magi were believers in Jesus as the Jewish Messiah and the Son of God, for only a few centuries before there was a man amongst them who would have not rested until he had explained salvation to them - His name was Daniel.

I learned years ago that the wise men weren't in the manger, what's crazy is if you actually read the bible it is right there point blank the Magi sees them at a house and so many other fun facts. Crazy that for years we were taught just the opposite. Makes me wonder why they found it necessary to tell us something different. Recently learned that it also doesn't specifiy the number of magi, who decided it should be 3 - I've assumed that it was based on the 3 gifts mentioned. Thanks for your videos I truly enjoy you.

🎼 On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me a partridge in a pear tree 🎶
The Twelfth Day is the Epiphany, January 6, the observance of the arrival of the Wise Men of the East. In some countries the day of gift giving isn't Christmas but Epiphany. In England and elsewhere it was customary to give a gift on each of the Twelve Days. I like that custom because it stretches out the celebration. But then, I observe Advent as a period of spiritual preparation, not as a rushed period of partying 😇

Majai met Jesus not in tiny village but in Jerusalem either on 8 or 9th day after circumcision. Soon after majai left Herod, the star led they to the house where Jesus was, which they have seen in the east. Because things should take place in fraction of seconds. Soon after majai met Jesus, three to Egypt, if majai are three, to east.
