Splat's ultimate nemesis- Game where you have to pay attention to what you're doing.
That opening feels like I watched six seasons of a tv show in the space of a minute.
Yeah really!
yeaaaah. it could be done a bit more smoothly. Game looks cool though.
"All 6 Seasons of Earth Sphere: The Drone Wars in 60 seconds or less."
@@coalmine9666 Hahaha~
Comic books really do be like that.
Looks like Splat slept through the opening cinematic...
The Drones are currently controlled by 32000 individual Psionics who transferred their conciousness to the drones.
There there is no need for more processing etc, the drones to that mostly on their own, as every drone is basically a person and not a mindless machine.
You'll find perception is not his greatest attribute.
@@crankyboris neither time counting "my ship was destroyed instantly" while he was busy talking and pushing asteroids XD
He also missed that the orb and drones are what killed the planet, not the voohr
@@Gnagniel So the question is.. WHO controlled the drones and the orb.. D:
@@CesarinPillinGaming I... Actually hadn't considered that
Entire screen: *points to attack button*
Splattercat: "How do I attack‽"
I have never heard Splatt this excited about a game before, I'm loving his reactions and also loving this game so far!
He got just as fired up for Carrion.
Yeah, definitely. Though that excitement for the Western shooter was up there.
There are few things as frustrating as splat not understanding angles of attack. Of course a mission takes you 20 tries if you don't understand that attacking WITH their movement is more useful than trying to do it at a 90 degree angle.
From the looks attacking in aposing direction does seam to hurt more.
Which is odd since I thought he got that near the 6 minute mark. Power overwhelming?
@@lechking941 technically sending swarm in homogeneous direction will do more damage unless there modifiers akin to headshots in shooters
@@Aiveq which is more useful, to push the enemy out of your damaging line of effect faster, or slow them down to keep them in the flow longer?
@@skylerthompson8046 that the thing, drones do not push unless you use special command. take highway, incoming traffic will pass at yours and own speed combined. traffic traveling in same direction will pass you at difference between your speed. if target ship travels clockwise in circle, you draw clockwise circle, that way a single drone stays longer on target=more damage
cinematic: "so they killed 32 thousand people to have some resemblance of a chance"
splat: "oh yeah i'd totally be 32 thousand drones at once"
umm have we watched the same clip? you'd be one of the poor bastards that got murderized and now keep getting blown up over and over!
I believe it was said there were 32 thousand humans merged their souls to individual drones and came under the command of the Argo, not that one human was able to control the drones as their fingers and limbs
That would make things even worse.. Like in Ender's Game. Where he finally is told that he sacrificed real lives on his last ditch maneuver to genocide an insectoid race. All because he was blatantly lied by the leadership. No surprise he left like in the books abandoning humanity.
@@CesarinPillinGaming Yeah, but the drones are supposedly replenished since their numbers don't seem to diminish with damage. That means they're truly drones (remote controlled) and the 32k human consciousness are probably in the sphere.
That also means the devs should put in some mining missions for resource gathering or have them collected from the asteroids or ship debris during or after the battles
@@CesarinPillinGaming well he thought it was still a game which was the objective. Unlike bean
@@catbert7 hu.. spoilers? ender's game is old as shit XD
*Watches him _continuously_ throw the attack drones _across_ the path of moving enemies instead of along the path... even after figuring out that it does more damage when they stay in the stream. "What the hell are you doing!?"
20:00 "This is a marked increase in difficulty and multitasking" Only because he insists on firing drones straight out from the mothership instead of sending them _along_ the enemy ships trajectory. Even after "Twenty, thirty tries." Dude, you already figured out how to _not miss_ in the first five minutes, and then never did it again.
Classical Splat, am I right?
@@svoloch125 first time seeing this guy, but yeah i bet it is
I don't understand how some people who's entire channel is built around playing games can be so oblivious to them.
*enemies blow up from asteroids*
"enemies are like not effected at all by asteroids"
Glory to the Omnissiah and praise to these drones with their machine spirits
My Go-Emperor is better than your Omnissiah.
I just love how every video of a Sci-Fi game you do really, really quickly turns into a 25 minute Warhammer 40k reference. :D
Big whack of Ender's Game from that title acreen
You will help me? My poop log is long.
Ender in control of that swarm? Big oof.
beat me to it lol
The enemies gate is down.
Man a Stargate Atlantis mod would be epic with this game
Would it make the swarm into puddle jumpers or wha
I pooped. Can you help me?
@@jeremiahbradshaw1732 more like into the Drone weapons
That would be epic
City Ship Chair Simulator?
Make computers to control more computers? "We literally can't lose.."
Yeah... I can't see anything going wrong with this idea.
Skynet is coming...
So all splat heard was drone. Then POWER OVERWHELMING!
"I am trapper keeper" I died a little inside XD
4:12 LOL dear god Splatty never change.
16:00 swarming drones are like birds, each one of them has to think and position itself in relation to others around them, they're not controlled individually by a central computer.
and from the intro, I think each one of those drones is controlled by a human's soul, kind of make you think whom you've sacrificing with each attack or shield.
My body has all kinds of problems, though I would torn between giving it up or going full on “My name is Legion, for I am many.”
This video was hilarious. the way the swarm moves looks so satisfying... definitely gonna need to check this out
This is an absolute marvel of reimagination for a draw-with-a-pencil game. Excellent
Please please PLEASE do a series on this!!!
It looks AWESOME
I really want to watch a series on this, but not if the player sucks this much.
Him: I am a god!
Also him: misses with most of his attacks and doesn’t realize yet that there’s only a certain amount of drones so he can’t spam.
The enemy’s: haha, weapon go brrrrr
I cannot imagine how they could make those drones work. Probably a flock system based on steering behaviours. So awesome!
Nice! getting some Ender's Game vibes here :)
I've been looking for a game like this for a long time controlling swarms of anything and decimating my foe to quadruple overkill, haha thanks splattercat for bringing this to my attention :D
4:00 Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
You can use rock science to gauge Splat's mental state in this video:
Splat when stressed "these are meteorites".
Splat when not stressed "these are meteors".
Ethical considerations of grey goo are mitigated when we ARE the goo.
I could feel your love of drones through the intro
bro, you never realized that if they are going in a circle you can curve your units to keep hitting him, you kept the same idea of firing them straight. newb cake.
He's just really, really dumb.
your best episodes are the ones you have a lot of energy for like this one.
12:23 quite nice cartman voice 👌😁
I beat that mission you struggled with in about 4 or 5 tries. You can actually just completely ignore the asteroids and focus on the little ships. If the ships don't hit you much at all, you will have enough health to finish the whole mission before the asteroids do enough damage.
12:22 splat gets nerdgazm
I was expecting some level of excitement from the title but nothing quite like what you delivered in this episode Splatt' i have to say, it's pretty communicative, i'll have to keep an eye on the progress of this game.
I pay a lot of attention to gaming development and yet every time you upload i end up finding a fascinating concept that i had no idea existed
I’ve been watching this game forever and am so excited rn
The things were Grey Gooing out on humanity, but then humanity put an actual human soul into each and every drone.
So it isn't one soul controlling them all. It is 32.000 souls controlling them all ^^
Technically one soul (the captain/player) is telling the 32,000 what to do, sooooo ... He gets a pass (BARELY) on that comment.
Oh wow, this is actually a really cool concept. It would make a great mobile/tablet game for a touch screen
Damn I can't wait for this! #1 on my wishlist!
Never before have I wanted to play a game with my Wacom tablet.
The ethical ramifications of dealing with rocks. Best sentence 2020
The whole video: I LOVE DRONES!!!
If I got the initial video correctly, some human minds were transferred into them, so you'll probably need more humans to get more drones, in this games lore.
But actually, the idea of drones is based on swarm-intelligence, as observed in birds and fish. Each individual has the brain-capacity they have, but they react to their neighbor, creating the swarm-behavior we see. So if they gave you the ability to produce more drones, they could just replicate them, since they'd already do their own thinking.
This game is lookin pretty good, I'd love to see more one the full game is out.
On the topic of grey goo, now I need a game about the paperclip optimizer theory. A rogue AI with one singular mission: Achieve maximum paperclip!
Not sure if you know about this but: www.decisionproblem.com/paperclips/
Can get pretty existential by the end as well.
The drone movements are mesmerizing
This makes me feel that in an alternate reality Splat was tricked into using his drone army to destroy itself and the entire light universe. I fight for Zev 😆
This game looks dope!
well this is a pretty kickass idea
It kind of reminds me of enders game. Good game though. Thanks for the preview. Your the best.
I might pick up this game. Looks interesting
Splat jumping back and forth between human supremacist and grey goo advocate is quite fun to watch.
Nice to hear some warhammer 40k in splats vid
This is awesome
9:40 - Splat' already pulled the trigger multiple times while diplomacy was being attempted
15:21 These are the strategically sound ravings of a gamer capable of taking over the world. Or someone who read 'The Chrysalis' sci-fi webnovel.
Looks like a cool tablet game. Thanks for the review
16:10 but... you need human souls for controlling drones... So thats how they prevent the logic i guess xD
So they're limited to their 32k uploaded souls, unless they figure out a way to copy/paste those souls, then we would have entered ethics territory. But if they settle for less advanced drones, since they seemed a pretty cyberpunky civilization already, they could have 32k "human drones" each commanding, let's say a thousand drones, then you'd have 32 million tiny robots assisted by 32 thousand super robots... That's kinda scary, huh
PS: also, the game is very GPU intensive already and I don't even think they actually render 32k drones but the number there is just for storytelling
i want this game so badly
Holy crap! This is Ender's Game the....umm...game! Great review!
Some things you missed
Lasers pierce through walls, but They can be cannon balled to disrupt the lasers!
And obviously making tons of walls and attacks significantly diminished the amount of drones protecting the core!
I am happy so fas this fe is developing well.
15:27 It sounded to like the drones ARE 32000 people. I don't think they can just passionately hug to make more minds that control the drone bodies you want to build. Also I bet at the end of the game they will be all made into people again somehow, so that you can colonise whatever planet you found.
the bobiverse is a book series about a guy who transferred his consciousness to a space probe
looks very fun
12:24 when splatty notifications warp into my phone
15:55 each drone is it's own person and have a free will
Oh wow I've love to see the code behind this. Are they using particle systems for the drones?
Obviously
hola lindo video quisiera que continuen haciendo este contenido¡¡¡!!! Voy a continuar mirando sus creaciones. Les envio un beso nos estamos viendo ❤️👍🏽
I think I need this game
Is there an award for "Easily Best Narration in Any Gameplay Video Ever"? Splat needs it. Yesterday.
Dear America, Please put splatty last in line to control the football, Love, The World
I'm pretty sure we're the bad guys in this one, just flying into aliens' territory and murdering them without any attempt at negotiation.
you do realise that the voohr didnt destroy earth? that it was the sphere and humanity that destroyed it? the two you are now controlling?
Technically we were trying to defend ourselves.
@@backwardsman8887 yeah... But from the sphere and swarm that he is currently controlling, not the voohr
@@dominiklehn2866 True.
@@catbert7 apparently
who or what is the voohr, that splat doesn't think we should call the bad guys that? I must have missed something for sure
played the demo i am very much looking forwards to its release
splatt out here like the inventor of skynet...
thats the most child like glee iv ever heard xD
“The ethical ramifications of rocks are so much simpler than the ethical ramifications of binding human soles to machines” - splatter cat, 2020
that looks like a hell of a lot more than 32 thousand
I was getting stressed about the way you were using those drones in the wrong direction. You should have followed pathways of the ships! 😆
Wow this is just like Chrysalis
The sacrifice of thousands of psionics to create the savior of mankind? That sounds oddly reminiscent of something...
Man that is a lot of drones
From zero to "I AM A GOD" in 4:15 minutes.
The Butlerian Jihad wants to know your location xD
Splatty, you had me rolling from start to finish on this one. Cool looking game! And don’t worry, without your megalomaniacal streak just below the surface, your videos would be much too stiff.
PS: purge the xenos!
Yeah, can't give him a bunch of power: he will never shut up.
Well that took all of 12 min.... hmm.. looks good. Let's see if the final product have what it takes to be worthwhile.
Question: is my understanding of physics incorrect, or is it, in fact, wrong that the crate seemingly slowed down after it´s collision with the asteroid around 13:40? (I mean, yes, the collision with the asteroid would slow it down, but afterwards.)
I’m rusty on my kinematics, but I think the expectation is that some kinetic energy would be lost in a collision, and if the mass of the asteroid is much greater than the mass of the container, the asteroid wouldn’t move much vs. the movement of the container. Internet, please correct me if I’m not remembering correctly haha
@@christianstafford4370 Correctly some of the speed and thus kinetic energy would be converted and speed up the asteroid while slowing down the crate, proportional to mass relation.
The crate would have to loose a lot of speed on impact and the asteroid gain a little.
But neither of them should slow down while not hitting anything.
Or at least not as much as that.
Gamer_Eza thanks for elaborating! SplattercatGaming: entertaining AND educational! :D
Why would that be confusing? Isn't that just common sense?
Skeet Svar common sense and physics often don’t overlap as much as we’d like, unfortunately.
Hey Splat, you said the feeling of controlling the drones make it seems almost biological, it's because they are being controlled individually giving this awesome look and control, this game is using Unity's high performance DOTS technology, and Unity even retweeted these folks recently cuz of that.
Awesome
Wow neat game
13:50 lmao it should have kept moving forever
This could be a really cool app
This must be about 1% of what Taylor Hebert experienced every day as a cape.
Looks like game that can heat my pc :D
I don't think there's an AI. They said 32k psyonics moved their consciousness into the drones. SO unless you're sacrificing more humans then you're set with the number.
looks pretty, is there some progression to this?
