Maori ceded soverienty with Ti Tiriti o Watnagi
And then they sold their land
There is no such thing as an English version. (there was the James Freeman rogue version)
The Maori treaty was translated from Busby''s draft of Hobsons ideas and goals
There are only 3 articles in Ti Tiriti

There is a constant thread throughout your conversation of differentiation between Maori and Tauiwi. I have a different perspective. My great-great-grandfather was born to a British father and Maori mother in 1838. He grew up, and suffered, in the Waikato wars but it was from his birth that I derive my rights as a citizen of this country - not the later Treaty of Waitangi. I am neither Maori nor Tauiwi - I am both. I am the product of both the transgressor and the transgressed. Consequently I accept no responsibility or guilt for how my ancestors treated each other - either in this country or anywhere else in time and place.
