Great video, thanks. How did you get VIA to recognize the Zoompad? I'm looking to do something similar but I can't get VIA working properly. Is there a json file out there that I'm not finding?

I think the knob is too cheap. The led window looks bad and the knurling is of poor quality. It has push down functionality, so it should have had some sculpt on the top. If you already force everyone to have a knob, at least make sure it doesn't suck!
Wireless + VIA numpads are extremely rare, and prior only Keychron and Glorious offered them at much higher costs, and even more rare with gasket mount and aluminum case. So compared to those, this is an insane deal with all the customization options as well. However there is one huge competitor, the Cidoo V21, which IMO is as good as this for only 60, fully built, still with tri-mode and VIA. The drawback is that it only comes in tan to match the other Cidoo V65/75/87 boards... Hopefully they add other colors eventually... If you already have a Zoom65/75 or another board with a special finish color, the Zoompad is worth it, but if you just want the nice feel/sound and wireless+VIA+Alu regardless of aesthetic, then the Cidoo is unbeatable currently.
For a CNC numpad with a trimode PCB, yup! It's a niche layout and design and it can"t be any much more cheaper becuase it is THAT niche. For sure the demand on this is low, and that's why I expect it to be that price. Plus, "affordable" is relative :) Relatively speaking, this board is priced competitively
@@MangoTangoFox don't you know whether Cidoo V21 is actually capable of remapping knob rotations on layers other than the first one? I heard that it only performs Volume +/- there regardless of what is configured in VIA

do you really think 100USD for a numpad is "affordable price"?

@@iarik-chan Yeah, it seems you can't make the knob do per-layer actions.
