- We booked this trip about 8 weeks ago, not knowing it was going to be the hottest few days ever recorded in England... We still had a great time, cut our ride short (because of the weather) and I do a little tour of Tims Caddy

Loving the double entendres - exactly where my mind was as your were saying them! 😆so far I’ve managed to not cook everyone in the heat more by luck than anything else. The Webasto has a fan only option which I’ve never yet tried and I also bought one of the stand off brackets your mate had in the caddy for just keeping the back door 😉😆 open in the heat. Have you been using the thermal wrap on the top to keep the heat out too? We found the coastal areas in Cornwall had just enough breeze to survive until a nice time in the morning. It was one way of making sure everyone got up!
Great site and location I usually park the other side of the road next to the river, nice easy walk to Keld for tea & cakes then stop off at the Farmers Arms in Mucker (Pronounced Mooker) as I found out , fish and chip van stops in the village Friday nights.
Eyup Colin, mint vid as usual!
I’ve got two whippets, I have air con, but as you say only when the engine is on.
When I get eventually go abroad I reckon I’ll camp with hook up and buy a small household air con unit, and plug it with the hook up to keep the Whips cool.
I’ve tried all sorts to keep the van cool when stationary.
The other option is see what real ac units you could power with that big battery pack you’ve got? That would make a great vid!!
There’s a few RUclips videos from Americans using a portable air con unit called Zero breeze? Worth a look, but it’s expensive and the results seem hit and miss on the vids.
Let us know how you get on, I reckon there’s loads of us wanting air con in the back of the bus!
Another fab video, Colin 😀 Love the new over dubs. You’ll be narrating Love Island next 😂 Usher Gap is my ‘go to’ site. Pity you didn’t do the walk from Muker to Keld as that is spectacular. The Tan Hill Inn, Britain’s highest pub, isn’t too far away either. Cheers as always. Keep up the great work. 🍻
Ha you put it in, ace 😂😂. Cant wait to do it again
Very ‘NICE’ site and area..like the bike 🚴 Colin . Thanks for another good video ..Rob 🏴
Your cycling top opened more and more with each take! Was definitely borderline family content 👀😛🤤
He's probably got an OnlyVans site. 😉
Haha next week I cycle nude 😂😂😂
@@johnlewis8168 lol
@@Yorkshirepoptopadventures I'll keep a close eye out for that one 😅
Awesome mate, my favourite Dale for hiking 👍
Loving your channel mate only just discovered it. Getting loads of tips on fitting out my own camper, still in the process though of buying the van. It was great to see a Caddy on this video as this is the van I am about to buy.
Nice bikey. I dont really do much cycling these days but I still have my trusty claud butler dalesman which is 40 years old and still works fine. Get a cooling mat for Branston, no leccy needed and he can lie on it to cool down
Great looking breakfast, nice site. I have to be honest I hate the microwave. Look forward to the next one
Site looked ace for a getaway break.. PS you will need a Crafter pretty soon just for the wood!!!
Looks a nice site, we stayed at low row 5miles away on Saturday, as soon as the sun went down, Extra layer came out.. the location is a definite work out for the van from the Kirkby Stephen side of the route
Yorkshire is the best county. I take it your based in Otley then Colin? I'm not a million miles from there it's a nice little town. Have only been to Kettlewell once when I was working as a Saturday lad for dalesman coaches went for a day out with one of the drivers back in 2006 enjoyed it was really nice and the views were spectacular. Take care matt
We love your RUclips channel very much, makes us very jealous we got a vwt5 2 years ago lots of cold nights fixing and lots of hot days converting lol. Had 2 lovely weekends away yes only 2 unfortunately, was going away last weekend now van is just about done and gearbox blows 😢if we had know luck we wouldn't have any lol. Keep up the good work. Hopefully see you and fellow campers some day.
Oh no, that's awful... Hopefully you can either fix it or get all the bits out and re build a new van...
I have got a totalcool really impressed with it I don't have air con in my van so this was the best option I have just ordered a seatshelf to put on in the front there on offer at the minute from go outdoors at £199
Bought a TotalCool unit ~4 years ago at the NEC Show. Been used loads in the house, still not used it in the van though 🙄😂
Great video as ever Colin. The overdubbing on sound was weird as you’ve not done that before , but cool though. As far as cooling the van goes Ive tried everything from the trans cool unit £300 worth to smaller cheaper ones. Nothing works well when you are in temps like 30-40 degs. If you are serious look at getting a proper air conditioning unit mate. Booked that site you were at as it looks nice. Cheers pal
Hi Colin, just discovered your channel loved the show. Great looking riding must try. how do you secure your bike inside the van to ensure no damage or movement. Cheers
This looks like one of the best sites yet !
I completely agree, it's in my top 5 for sure
Really liking the posh microphone voiceover thingy.
Great location in a superb valley, did some mountain biking there on the tops last summer. The midges were really bad at this site last July, looks like they weren't too bad for your trip tho!
It's stunning isn't it... I think the breeze helped with the midges and also the fire pit..
Awesome 👍
Hi have you seen or looked in to the new ecoflow portable air conditioner unit that works with your new battery 👍 , keep up the great videos cheers 😃
We only travel abroad in September in our camper and our Bavarian Alps trip can’t come quick enough now, i can imagine what it’s going to be like for a dog in the hotter weather, September seems to be a good month as you don’t get the heat overnight and is more comfortable especially for pets. Our dog always struggles in any warm weather especially now she his in her retirement years and especially in a van…i can’t imagine hot van and a midge invasion, that would be a gruesome scenario to deal with.
Yep, sadly we are bound by the school holidays, which not only means it's warmer, but also more expensive and also places are full of people 😂😂😂! You may think that it will be over soon because Olivia will be leaving school in 5 years or so... But alas nope 😂😂 with Michelle being a teacher, this holiday trap is forever 😂😂😂
Nice 👍
Has your diesel heater got circulation mode? I've got a under slung planar and putting it in circulation mode helps cool the van a little when you're parked up...
Not sure mate, I think it runs cold so would technically let in cool air from outside... Brilliant idea
Am loving the door table you made, great idea, where did you get the straps from please?
Hey buddy, thank you, I'd love to take credit for building it but a subscriber made it for me :)
@@Yorkshirepoptopadventures cheers for the reply fella...and ah no worries🙃
Hey Colin have you covered that hanging shelf in one of your vids? Neat idea👍🍺🍺
Yes matey, it was a gift from a subscriber who built it for me :)
Another great video, need to go on a bike camping trip. Do you have any campsite recommendations further south? Eg Peak District into midlands ?
EY up matey, thank you.... not at the moment as I haven't ventured that way just yet. As soon as I find a great spot further south I'll make a video about it bud...
Try a jml chillmax there £40 off Amazon you will be able to run it off you power station they work really well in a van especially with ice added to the water 👍
Are you on the T6 Forum? How many bungees did you use to bring your pop up canvas in? Need to do that to mine
EY up matey, I'm not on the T6 Forum but I only use one bungee bud :)
Hi Colin, does your bike pump fit in your saddlebag? If so, where did you get it from?
Hey buddy, it was in my rear pockets of my shirt matey
But we had CO2 canisters in the saddle bag
Ah okay, I am trying to find a micro pump that would fit in a saddlebag and was looking for a recommendation?
My pump is small, from Chevin Cycles but it deffo wouldn't fit in the saddle bag I have, it would fit in a larger one though
Hi Colin , What ! no air Conditioning ! , Noooo ,
Bloody hell, how much wood you taking, it is summer you know ha ha
Haha that's not a lot for me, I was being restrained 😂😂
Just one thing to say......tubeless tyres. I'd never go back 👍👍
Couldnt agree more, they’re just a faff on roadies and not worth the effort, not run tubes on my mtbs for years
Your chest HR, try the polar 0+. It goes on the forearm. Much more comfortable and than a plastic HR strapped around the chest
What is campsite called , looks lovely.
It's called Usha Gap buddy
Hello what sort of drone do u use
Hiya, I use the Mavic air ;)
Still amazes me that VW were producing vehicles in 2016 without aircon!
I completely agree....
A Yorkshireman with sunbeds in the garden - what are they for? balancing the washing on as it comes off the line?
And clearly your Yorkshire tightness caught you out with the lack of Air Con - so loved the interlude discussion about Air Con - Mrs S would not approve my van purchase unless it had Air Con. Love the stealth Caddy - very nice, and useful for stealthy visits for lone campers.
Assrig - only 30 degrees - you should have popped down Sarf, we topped 40 easily, and a few spots hits 42/43 - trust me you would be grateful for the 30 degrees - I would have welcomed it at peak heat. It was awful. On the hottest day, I ran 7 miles at 0630 in the morning, I got home in less than an hour - just, but it was above 23 when I left and nearly 30 when I got home. I usually do 8.5 miles on my running days, and I carved 1.5 miles off - that is the impact of it being too warm for me.
Oh and that is one nicely shaved chest on show - did you pop for a quick wax before the film, and in mucho anticipation of popping the backdoor of the van during the night. And I thought this was a family channel, even using Stella for a gentle cooling personnel rolling massage.
I note from the Usha Gap website that the Ladies and Gents get the same number of showers - but not the same number of hairdryers - while I'll never need a hair dryer - haven't since I was 16, perhaps some better haired chaps will - where is equality when you really need it. 🤔
Ermm did I miss something on this one? You was both out cycling in that temperature & yet you was moaning about how little air you got from the fan. In a place like where you was & with no one around should have placed your entry sensors outside the van & had the door open. Would have worked or get the same as Tim had the door standoff.
The doggy door is a game changer!
Assrig & Strap Ons!!!!! Have you changed the channel to an "Only Fans" Col? Hilarious..

Appreciated ;).
Was that really vegi bacon?, oh dear
Haha yep, it's not the same and I'd LOVE to smash in proper bacon but sadly my digestion services won't allow it 😂😂😂
