I think you are absolutely amazing and it takes the slightest little thing to make you happy which is really good you don't need big things in life to make people happy.
The wiring tails that came with the fridge were not heavy enough.i had to replace them with a heavier loom directly to the batteries. No problems since.
Freezer jolly good fellow.... and so say all of us.... Next year surely cannot be a worse year than this one Mel.... Enjoy your ice cream and beer from your diddy little fridge freezer....
Good fridges, I've got a similar instalation, 2 vents, 2 computer fans one drawing air in and one drawing air out, on a separate switch, only needed in hot weather. 👍
I used to use a 12v compressor fridge, it cost about £600. It Used 48w Running. I now use a domestic mini fridge from British heart second hand, running off my efficient 1500W inverter and it is the same 48w consumption ! Just buy an efficient low standby current invertor and save tons of money.
@@whu58 it's a logic fridge freezer a discontinued model, but Argos. Similar, buy the cheapest one going about £99 and make sure it's 230v compressor type. With Argos you can take it back if not happy.

When I removed my CR 80 I disconnected it. Then when I put it back in I extended the wire so that I can remove the fridge without having to disconnect it again. Just a thought stay safe and have a happy New Year🚐☕️☕️👍🏼🏴🌈🙏🏼💙❤️💙❤️

These are a great little fridge for a T4 or T5 I think but for the bigger vans I think there to small we went for the vitafreego 115 ltr . Double the size and pulls the same power.
Hi Mel. Come to this video to find out what is wrong with my fridge. I took the freezer compartment out of mine to create more space in the fridge, not realising that it turns the whole thing into a freezer! I wondered why I always have an orange light inside of my fridge when I open the door!
Mel I have an Engel In the RV basement and a 3 way domestic in the van ,, I have the engel freezer on a timer as the compressor noise at night is a pain ,, and engel are the quietest in the game ,,, Ice cream is good YES ! 3.1 amps (42 watts decided by 12 volts = 3.1 ) But will get better with age mine only pulls 1.9 amps after 8 years the compressor runs in ,,
Merry Xmas Mel oh and by the way when we bought our Van the Fridge was brand new never used and the motor was a bit noisy we ran it for a day and it went quiet and never been switched off nor made any noise for 4.5 years now

I've got the very same CRX50 and aside from the dreaded voltage fault, it's been running perfectly. It maintains a chill 3c whilst drawing hardly any amps, my 200w solar panels being more than enough to keep it running all year round. FYI as I discovered the CRX50's do have a common fault, after an indeterminate amount of time (8 months in my case), they will stop working and all the lights will start flashing. The solution is simple, replace the 12v supply cables with 6mm thick cables, with an inline fuse, direct to the leisure battery. Not sure why this happens, but it's been running a-okay since.

The low power cutoff is very low, our leisure battery got dragged below 11v , which means there is a potential for battery damage. I didnt fond a way to adjust this on the fridge so if there is a way I would love to know

Was that just luck with the dimensions or designed that way to eventually fit the fridge when you got it? Remember heat rises, so would it be better to push air in at the bottom with the fan and exhaust it behind the drivers seat? 42 Watts at 12 Volts is 3.5 Amps.
Santa had nothing to do with it I actually got nothing from him this year lol I’ve wanted one of these for years so when I build this van I made that space for it my live is now complete ☺️👍

That little table is a sturdy little thing.. Great upgrade your treating the old girl to some goodies, do you think having the fire above will make it work harder I guess heat rises just curious, guess you would only know if you tried it somewhere else.
Hi Mel.. Happy New Year.. you should have put a longer wire on the fridge, as in the future you might want to pull it out again for some reason and that way you don't need to take the seat apart again.. Just a thought..
I only said it as I did the same thing with my fridge.. (every day you learn) screwed the cupboard around it then thought (2 weeks later) i didn't fit the cooler fans and had to take it all apart again.. Bugger.. LOOKING FORWARDS to the meet ups and cant wait.. Cheers Bud
Yep 👍 but it is on legs and it sitting on about 30mm of insulation and yes I did lots of experiments with it before installing it if you go back through my videos you will see what I did trust me I planned on fitting this fridge from the beginning of my build 👍😊👍

Hi Mel, I've been thinking about your condensation problem. Not your's specifically, but for all van dwellers. Seems to me if you used your woodstove until you went to bed, reallt firing it up, and then using a little ceramic heater all night at a low setting, with a window cracked, you wouldn't have condensation. Seems you have access to house power a few feet away at present so you wouldn't be draining any batteries.

With the length of cable you have used you are likely to get problems with the fridge, the cables should be 6mm to prevent under-voltage.

I use the stove most nights and it’s very well insulated the inside of the cabinet don’t even get warm it’s fine 👍🍻👍
Stainless steel have a low sheer strength... Do you think 2 stainless screws would be safe in a crash?
Hi Mel.. Happy New Year.. you should have put a longer wire on the fridge, as in the future you might want to pull it out again for some reason and that way you don't need to take the seat apart again.. Just a thought..

I only said it as I did the same thing with my fridge.. (every day you learn) screwed the cupboard around it then thought (2 weeks later) i didn't fit the cooler fans and had to take it all apart again.. Bugger.. LOOKING FORWARDS to the meet ups and cant wait.. Cheers Bud

Yep 👍 but it is on legs and it sitting on about 30mm of insulation and yes I did lots of experiments with it before installing it if you go back through my videos you will see what I did trust me I planned on fitting this fridge from the beginning of my build 👍😊👍

I dont wan't to sound a smart ass. But the oven on top? When you got that going, that will get the fridge running overtime. I know Heat rises but i think i would have choosen a different Location for the fridge. Have a good Sunday.

Haha no worries Uwe when I build the van I made that cubicle for the fridge and the top is double insulated no heat whatsoever gets down there thanks for the concern really appreciate you taking the time to comment 👍

I know isn’t it great don’t worry it’s well insulated in fact in the winter I don’t even need the fridge on it still stays cold down on floor level
Hi Mel, I've been thinking about your condensation problem. Not your's specifically, but for all van dwellers. Seems to me if you used your woodstove until you went to bed, reallt firing it up, and then using a little ceramic heater all night at a low setting, with a window cracked, you wouldn't have condensation. Seems you have access to house power a few feet away at present so you wouldn't be draining any batteries.
