@@YankeeStacking I explain the cost of debt this way: If you're paying 14% on your credit card debt, you're making a 14% return on the investment when you pay down the principal. The last thing a person wants is personal debt. At least business debt is deductible as a business expense. Gotta pay off the personal debt before you do anything.

Tamlyn Vibanco I do financial coaching on my channel ( bit.ly/2A7ERjD ) and I strongly agree! It’s exactly how I explain it too.
One clarifying point. While most consumer debt (and especially revolving consumer debt) is very bad, not ALL debt is necessarily bad. I actually do an arbitrage with my home equity (that I could immediately pay off if I wanted to) in order to make money. It’s not the usual situation for most people, really the exception to the rule, but it certainly pays off well! ( ruclips.net/video/WR-4j4Hmi0w/видео.html ). Thanks for watching! 👌🏼

Great advice. I'm just getting started and #4 hit home. I contacted a gold and silver exchange here (Canada in my city). Told then what i was looking for, gold and silver bullion, and where I was comparing pricing to (bank and online reputable dealer). They came back with a price 10% higher, which is already in the case of silver way above spot (at the time spot silver was $33cdn an ounces, and the bank or onle delarr cost was $43) and said "no shipping or taxes", like he was giving me a deal. Bullion here is tax exempt, it's money, and the companies and banks are offering free shipping over $100. I was surprised at how much of premium they were trying to charge, and touting no tax like it was a deal. Let's me know never go to that place for anything

Now the world sees & uses fiat as money & I am All the more happy to pay bills & cover my cost of living with fiat while retaining my money. Sometime I purchase other forms of precious metal assets (jewelry, bars, rounds, foreign coinage, etc) for fun, speculation & diversification. Items I tore of or don’t hold an sentimental value, I often give as gifts, use for exchange or drop in the collection plate.

Really am enjoying this channel lots. I really like and agree with all 10 rules of investing. I have done some investing in metals in the past but it has become serious for me now.
I am very careful of who and what i listen to. I personally cannot be talked into anything without already doing my research and it appears this channel is going to become one of my go to guys. Love it!!
    Keep up the great work!!!

I started off being smart about my silver purchases. Buying tubes of rounds and constitutional silver, but then found an online dealer that had a lot more variety, like the EC8 coins and the different RCM series, and now im hooked. haven't gone over budget, but i just realized i got about 30 oz just in one month. Lol.
I know i am losing money with the premiums but i buy them anyway. It really seems like an addiction though, i had to stop myself yesterday from buying some birds of prey coins that were going for $80 a piece! Just have to be patient because they occasionally pop up on sites like Silver Gold Bull with much more reasonable premiums. But it's easy to miss them if you don't get notified.

Because of your and others videos, I’ve managed to avoid bad purchases. The only real hard lesson I learned the hard was is to buy from a COIN shop. Not a jewelry store that sells coins. Other than that error, my UTube teachers have done a great job for me.

Exit strategy is excellent advice, and most stackers aren't talking about it. Precious metals experience bubble dynamics like everything else. Sure you'll want a core position that you hold forever, but every investor in precious metals should consider Mike Maloney's "Wealth Cycle" concept.

@@keepitreal2044 Exactly, just keep going. Make a goal for example: I will stop eating shit food like chips and instead I will buy equivalent of 1oz per week; or each time price dips 1% per day I buy 1oz or if it is 2% than 2oz and so on. Plan your budget, don't put in more than you are willing to lose (although it is impossible to lose 100% with bullion anyway because it is not like stocks) and be patient :)

Good content. I’ve had some new stackers ask me the same question, most of the time they always followed up with “what’s something good to buy if I just buy enough to get free shipping?” . It seems like that’s what I hear a lot of -people say, they don’t have a lot of money to buy all the one time, but they are asking what are some good coins or rounds to start off with at maybe your first couple of $200 or so purchases.
That might be a nice video to follow up with this one (?) kind of a beginner‘s theme or ‘if Yankee could go back in time how would he start buying his first couple or five or six purchases’

Discipline is a good one mate, it's easy to carried away. I buy on live UK auctions over the phone and the bidding can get very frantic and fast. There was a auction in April and I did not get a sausage, the demand for physical just nailed the prices too high and I stood firm and walked away. Had another auction last week and got everything I wanted a 2014 mule Sovereign, paid £185 more than the bullion price but well worth it to grab a rare coin, and I could not believe my luck, a lot with 2 sovereigns form the RMS Douro shipwreck the auction had run on for hours longer than it should and I was the only person still on the phones! Got both with RM COA 1871 S/B and 1872 G/D for £10 over bullion! Worth every penny to hold a piece of history in my hands........They look well for being under the ocean for 114 years.

Since beginning of time. Gold and silver have always been universally accepted as money.
For me personally, I don't go for the decorative aspect of collecting. I either get bars or I get coinage created by a mint. And the reason I like things from a mint is because they are government-based.
Also for me personally, I have found that taxing myself. Meaning that I take 10% of my post tax salary and buy either gold or silver. Regardless of the price at the moment. It creates a discipline for me.

However, this video has several good bits of advice. The single best being using the dollar (Euro) average purchase. I will use that as my main takeaway on this. THough mostly in gold.

Yankee can you do a video on cost averaging? Do you cost average every ounce, or do you separate your 1 ounce bullion/rounds, and 2 ounce collectable coins? Do you separate your bullion and do the cost average for each coin. Like American Eagle cost average, Canadian cost average and so on.

I cost average MOST of my purchases, but do "micro-time" some acquisitions due to extraordinary circumstances (COVID-19, elections, etc.) And when there is a deal too good to pass up (like this one: ruclips.net/video/WK_vBetgYsE/видео.html ) I JUST DO IT! 😂👌🏼

I’m brand new to stacking and thankfully from the get go I knew to not waste money on buying numismatic metals and commemorative coins and proofs. It makes no sense for my goals and purpose for stacking. That would just lose money. It’s simple, buy recognizable and universally accepted coins, silver and gold, to be used as trade for when the dollar collapse is complete and they move to the digital dollar.
