  • Sorry about the video focus. My camera went bananas.
This video is about a 5000 mile review of my 2022 Harley Davidson Pan America. The reason I bought this bike is to go to Alaska next year all the way to dead horse from Florida. Well, I know there's a lot of trouble with some of the bikes out there. I think the vast majority of these bikes are running great.
Thanks for watching. It is always ride safe and ride often.

If the kick stand was solid, what would happen when you turned on the ignition and the ARH kicks in? Now I agree it should not be connected to the engine.

The kick stand is designed to go down a second time to lock it in so it doesn't blow over in wind

Great job on a long term review. It's good to hear the Harley hit the ball out of the park on the PA. Keep up the great work Pete.

Hey Pete! Is was great meeting you yesterday at Bone Valley. Looks like we’ve done just about the same mods to our PAS. Good luck on your Alaska trip and enjoy. I hope to see you again with the TWEAT group.

Got the same risers, game changers there. Jiffy stand is definitely typical Harley stand but I am used to it after 4-5 Harley's now.

Could you supply a link to the Garmin mount when you get the chance? Thanks for sharing this video

It is the Aluma Cycle War eagle mount. Unfortunately he doesn’t make them anymore. A certain country stole the design and sells them on alibaba now.

Pete, great review. With the after market parts that are out now, the PA can finally be personalized to each owner. Good job with yours. I did Alaska this year on my PA and it performed great. Good luck on your ride. I did post videos on You Tube if you're interested.

Nice review. I have a '21 PAS. Like you, I've had zero problems (so far). I agree with the need to replace/modify the jiffy stand... it's a pain! And back-lit controls would be very nice. Do you have a link for the GPS mount? I've got my ZumoXT mounted to the handlebar, but that mount above the IM looks nice.

Aeedea makes very sturdy easy to install front and rear fender extenders. Rugged and fit the motif of the bike. Also make what I consider the best hwy pegs. Over 9000 trouble free miles on a 2022 PA Special. Had to address the lower rad hose issue as well. Hose wasnt not fully seated on radiator spout. No big deal to fix but should not have had to with a second production year model. Great bike HD, fix the little issues.

Being a long term HD owner I can say I have no issues with the jiffy stand. Good review of the bike.
Alaska, I'm sure you will do your research, I am from Florida, live in Washington State and have worked in Alaska. One thing I would advise a fellow Floridian, the weather, bugs, and mud cannot be underestimated. Also the vastness. There is so much to see in the lower 48 that is so much more enjoyable. That said, if you have to scratch that itch good luck to you. If you do not already have, get some great gear and consider at least a heated vest.

Thanks for the tips. It has been a lot of research and gear buying preparing for the trip. I was in Alaska a few years ago SE region, the mosquitoes are legendary. Definitely investing in good bug spray and nets. I have ridden in the SW USA and plains states, but I’m sure going through western Canada and Alaska will be much more difficult.
My problem the the jiffy stand is when I’m off road in the sand. I just wish it was solid, with the adjustable ride height it makes it tricker than it needs to be.
      Ride safe

@@Petesmotoadventure HD likes to use that as a lock to prevent tip overs. Yes the ARH makes it feel tricky. My method is to get on first, take it off the stand then start. I step on the left foot peg, and toss a leg over. Also, CHECK the 3 bolts that hold your stand on, they will come loose. If I may, I would recommend Crater Lake, Yellowstone, Glacier, Beartooth Highway, Chief Joseph Highway. In my humble opinion, it would be a much more enjoyable, safer, and scenic trip than Alaska. Toss in Rainer, the North Cascades Highway, and even some of Canada Highway 3. Good luck!!
