I really love that you called navigation a skill. I've always just thought I wasn't great with directions but now I realize it's just a muscle I need to strengthen!
Same thing happened to me with an american taxi driver 🙄Just think it was a bit silly though because he obviously knew we were tourists (picked us up from the airport with obvious non-US accents and dropped us at a hotel) so could have just told us instead of shouting. The first restaurant we went to told us so politely and it was not even an issue after that
Good tips Christianne. When I went Interrailling around Europe back in 1985 with a couple of friends whenever we reached a new country we worked out a quick way to convert the local currency into £ sterling (I think one was about 2.85 = £1, another was 3.12 = £1, being mathematically minded we had to make it more complicated than 3:1). Regarding the rough itinerary, near the end of the holiday we couldn't work out how we were doing Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen in two days until about an hour later when we realised that the train we were planning to catch to Olso was leaving 15 minutes before we even arrived!! Nothing was pre-booked so that was all ok. You have an impressive number of stars but I suppose adding it there and then makes it so much easier than "I would like to go to that place that I saw in that film" but then not even remember the film.
I had to laugh at your opening for having to go inside due to too many planes flying overhead after just stating how still, no one is traveling much. Love your channel. Great tips as always.
I have a free ideas but it’s so hard to get excited about them when we just don’t know what’s gonna happen 😅 i like the idea of making a video about it though, I’ll add it to the list!
I have recently been thinking about travel and would love to travel around Europe. But go by train and buses example go by euro tunnel to France, Paris, San Sebastian, Spain, Bilboa, Barcelona etc would love to end the trip in Rome. Yes this will need a lot of planning. I am a bit unsure if I would leave it until I get there
Such useful tips! I always struggle with not prebooking trips. Any suggestions on how to calm the FOMO nerves of not fitting everything in you want to see? Do you ever think about the money you can save by booking in advance? How do you budget around this?
I often find that hardly any money is actually saved booking in advance! So I don’t worry or budget for that. And if I’m getting major FOMO for not being able to go somewhere, I see how I can adjust my trip to make it happen if possible. It may mean only travelling 1 country instead of 2 but if it means I can do it more throughly, it’s worth it!
Love this video!! I am going camping and a road trip to Dorset - London at the end of August so if anyone has any recommendations for either places in Dorset - Bournemouth - Brighton - London or around these areas then can you let me know so I can add it to my favourites on google maps!
Love your videos! Heading to PE in September. As I’m planning my trip now can you recommend the best way to take out money without the usual debit card costs abroad? Monzo, a credit card etc?
I'm planning on saving $15,000 that will be able to pay for my holiday and part of my college tuition (University of Greenwich) There are banks (at least in the US) you can get a bank card (debt card) That should automatically make the conversion rate from USD for example to whatever currency you're attempting to make a purchase from. My example would be the British Pound. I'm sure there is something similar in the UK. Christianne I love your videos sending good vibes to you!
@@BackpackingBananas That's good! Well I gotta remember that! I also plan on backpacking next winter! Probably through eastern Europe! Ukraine,Turkey,Belarus possibly a couple other places! But we will have to see!
I really love that you called navigation a skill. I've always just thought I wasn't great with directions but now I realize it's just a muscle I need to strengthen!
Wait the google maps star thing is such a good idea! I’m gonna start using it for even local stuff
I absolutely swear by it!
Good ideas. We all kind of know these things, but often don't do them. It's helpful to be reminded of them.

Yes our bank cards do that! But often you’re paying in cash when you’re backpacking and that’s when you gotta bust out the maths 😜

No idea why he expected a tip as a taxi driver. Definitely not the norm.
Perhaps I just had bad luck with an entitled driver 😩
How can anyone travel nowadays?! We wish to, but too many restrictions.. 😒😒
Have faith my friend!
