O lord Brandon the godess of tiny squares, i have bless by your holy video that you've create for over 2 years now my lord. I may be just a mere mortal praying to god but.. I shall do my greatest to return back the favor. I have been trying to infrom you of my leatest discovery of 3D pixle art, allowed me introduce you to MagicaVoxel it a 3d pixle art but it actually 3d (Volume + pixel = voxel)
I love how the Magenta - Strawberry Ranger I holding up 1 finger, the Yellow - Banana Ranger is holding 2, and the Cyan - ??? Ranger is holding 3 fingers up
My favorite episode of Super Fruit Radio Rangers was the one where the bad guys created they own evil team of rangers, the RGB Rangers. The emotional final battle between the two teams always bring tears to my eyes.
Brandon, I've been going through a bit of a rough time for the past year or so, but watching your videos has genuinely made me feel a lot better. No matter how I may have been feeling hearing your voice and seeing your creative process manages to cheer me up and calm me down. Thank you for sharing your wonderful art here, I hope you're having an awesome day
Love the custom CMYK crt time logo. The custom CMYK pallet is great, much easier on the eyes. I think it was a good move. Bravo in another excellent entry!
Haha wow this is awesome, I love how technical yet comprehensible this video is! I might have said that a couple of times by now hahaha It's especially neat seeing the colours translate onto actual prints. Considering how often this channel emphasizes digital palettes, thinking in terms of CMYK & printing is a whole different mode; one you might not expect to see pixel art to dive into. I ended up learning some new things about colours & printing from watching this video! 🖨️🎨✨
Thanks dude, always nice to hear! 😅 And yeah I used to do a lot more work with printing and it was nice to get a taste for that workflow again! It's also neat to see pixel art in that format; I could see myself having a lot of fun with my own large format printer or something ✨
The claw machine idea has a lot of potential, it’s no worse than Timeranger shrinking the mutant criminals into action figures. I’d be really curious to see this as an isometric action rpg
yo Brandon you are a huge inspiration my man, i love your essay videos so much i started pixelart, 1 month and i have i job workin with it! thx so much for the content!!! keep on rocking and keep it square ;]
Helpful video, you make it look so easy, it encourages me to try and experiment with pixel art and see what happens. I really like the love you put into those art pieces, it shows. Keep at it and good luck.
"K" is obviously the "Sixth Ranger". He was probably an action figure painted black and brought to life by the Big Bad only to eventually join the team. There may or may not also be a White CMYK Ranger as well.
I think Kamen Rider Gaim is an interesting comparison point to this video because in my opinion it does suffer from the themes becoming too muddled like what was mentioned when he added the radio elements. Between Fruit, Samurai, Locks, Stageplay/Dance, there was a little too much going on and it didn't all hang together.
I'm a new content editor for a college art journal now, and earlier today I cited this video and the section at 5:14 when we spoke about printing certain art pieces for our physical edition! We're coming up with a plan now to make sure that everything looks as good as it can for physical release. Thanks, Brandon!
awesome video, as always! i love how deep you always dive into your inspirations for artworks, going so far as printing the results or restricting your color palette to cmyk printable colors. very inspiring!
I am never disappointed by this dude but I wish the video was more than showing images. Watching this is like seeing a frame of Metal Slug so good, but so little
this is amazing! i love how creative you are with your art and your ability to add so much detail with the limitations of pixel art is very inspiring 💕
Brandon took that touchpad again and made a great linework just like that. Really great piece! Also it's nice to learn about banana's radioactivity lol.
Inkjet printers actually use CMY only to create red, green, and blue patches via subtractive color mixing. For example, a yellow and cyan droplet atop of each other results in green. Then we end up with (only!) 8 colors: CMY+RGB+KW (where K is black and W is white). The twist ist, all the other thousands of colors are created via dithering! Not via subtractive color mixing. You see only the 8 base colors if you look at a printer picture under the microscope. So if you want to use only those 8 colors in an pixel art image, you can to try to do the dithering for other colors on a pixel basis.
4.35 - How about the villains pluck the monsters as spoiled fruit from a rotten tree? The rangers in contrast are borne from fresh fruit plucked from an evergreen tree I dunno, your work inspires me a lot lol
As a Power Rangers fan I loved it! The choices you made through out the process make so much sense at the end. You inspired me to learn about and practice pixel art. Thanks, man. Keep up the good work.
Hey Brandon, nice work! I'd love to see a video showing your referents, comic book or manga artists, videogames that inspire you, the kind of stuff that usually works like atrezzo during CRT time. I feel like you have a lot to share in that sense :)
Brandon. This project brings back memories of going to School of Visual Arts. I had projects like this CYMK using only 4 colors. I wonder if this can be translated to only 3 colors or RGB.
have you tried minecrafts form of pixel art? its called mapart and its color pallete is limited by the blocks thta can be rendered on a map, theres a lot of different tutorials online
Apparently there is a debate over what fruit migth represent the cyan ranger: blueberries are too dark and blue raspberry doesn´t exist. My proposal is: the Blue Java Banana. The Blue Java Banana is a Banana variant which comes from isles like Hawaii, Fiji and the Philipines. They are a ligth blue/cyan tone, have an ice cream-like consistency and flavor reminiscent of vanilla.
A wonderful piece! Love the bold design decisions you were able to get out of something as simple as a particularly stark palette, and of course I'm a sucker for any good Sentai styled designs. Out of curiosity, I know you've shown your own methods of using a laptop touchpad, but would you have any interest in a video exploring some of the other tools, particularly the options in the highly-portable space like large phones and small tablets?
TNice tutorials was the first video I saw to get into soft soft, tNice tutorials year in May. Today I published a Resetup from XXXTentacion "Moonlight".
Its a realy nice style! So I have a video idea. U already made starfighters in a video. How about u make big spaceships? It would be really cool and inspiring cuz i an makin sonething like that myself.
You have very Good Pixel Art Skills! And I think, Hand Draw Basic Pixel Art are the best of it. I working on my own Fighting Game, but I use Hand Draw on Paper now! I'm not Sure, if Pixel Art are better... Because you have much work and on Hand Draw, you have very much Details (And have also on the Technik Side, Pixel when you Scan your Image) But what you think?
Potential name for this Sentai team Denpa Sentai Kudaranger (Denpa meaning electromagnetic/radio wave and kuda being taken from kudamono which means fruit) Alternate name I just though of while typing this. Kudamono Sentai Parfaitger
Would an Atari 2600 art style tutorial be of interest to you? Just thinking out loud since I thought ut would be cool if we could see what you could do with the restrictions its palette choices and canvas limitations give artists.

Cyan stands for bubblegum?
Blueberry
@@ErisCalamitasButFR Too bright a blue. There are a couple of "blue raspberries" in the image; maybe it's supposed to be that sort of thing?
Thanks for noticing! ✌️😊
I thought blue was blue raspberry based on the fruit he drew...

The Color Magic Youth kind vs The Radio Gang Busters.
for those wandering:
RBG is for light (screens etc)
CYM is for painting (and printing)
and RGY is simply wrong :)

This Power Ranger art reminds me a lot of the modern Cartoon Network bumpers that played out on TV and has the same CMYK color scheme.

To my knowledge I don't think there's ever been a fruit-themed Sentai, though I'm pretty sure there was a fruit-themed Kamen Rider.
Bryan cranston was a monster in power ranger : ruclips.net/video/4MQ0rDcZAtw/видео.html
Kamen Rider Gaim was the fruit themed one.

grape, green apple and orange (duh) rangers as supporting rangers which aren't the main focus and are just there to fill space lol

I made a wild force red ranger in 8bit style with thèse pallets..red, yallow ,orange, bright yellow.
