The training has moved since Morgan's blog post linked above. You still go to ProAdvisor > Training, but now. you can either get a personalized path of modules based on what you want to learn, or access the training library for each of the products.

Hi Morgan.. I did an online training through the local community college, took an exam through Certiport and got certified as Intuit QuickBooks Certified User Online. I am confused about the difference between this certification and the Pro advisor one. I am trying to get a job after 10 years career break and I dont have an accounting background. It would be really helpful if you could explain the difference. Thank you in advance!

Hi Mohamed. It's really up to you and how comfortable you are with QBO. You could certainly go quickly through the portions that you know and spend more time on the areas that you feel you want more training/practice in.

How long did it take you?
I'm in a class that is telling us to take this test at the end of the class -> Intuit has partnered with Certiport to create certifications - 3 certifications: Intuit QuickBooks Certified User - Intuit Certified Bookkeeping Professional -and Intuit Design for Delight. It's $150. I'd rather do the proadvisor route, but didn't know if this Certiport/Intuit certification would be worth it? It didn't look like it. Professor is only familiar with the Certiport/Intuit option. Do you know how these two are different?
Hi Heather. Morgan does not have info on the Certiport/Intuit option, but she does recommend the QBO ProAdvisor course (plus it's free!).

Hi Sarah! You can certainly be a virtual assistant that offers bookkeeping services. That's the nice things about having your own business, you have the freedom to offer whatever services you are skilled in!

Hey! After completing the ProAdvisor exam QBO will provide you with a profile on their website that businesses can access when looking for a bookkeeper. Other options are networking in your community to find small businesses who might need a bookkeeper or looking on social media (facebook, indeed, linkedin)
